The Devils Wears Prada Announces North American Tour + NEW Album Stream!

After destroying a massive amount of ear drums at the 2011 Warped Tour and armed with what the UK's Metal Hammer called the band's "most ferocious release to date," the Metalcore maniacs in The Devil Wears Prada announces "Dead Throne Tour: North America 2011" the first North American leg of the band's 2011 - 2012 worldwide tour in support of their upcoming fourth studio album titled "Dead Throne" (set to be released on September 11 via Ferret Records). The 37-date headline trek kicks off on November 3 in Milwaukee and will criss-cross the U.S. and Canada over a six-week period. "Dead Throne Tour: North America 2011" will feature Whitechapel, Enter Shikari, and For Today on all dates.

The "Dead Throne Tour " will come on the heels of the band's October headline trek through Australia that kicks off October 20 in Perth, taking the band to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.

Facts about "Dead Throne":

- Produced by Killswitch Engage mad genius Adam Dutkiewicz.

- With Dead Throne, the band - front man Mike Hranica, guitarist and clean vocalist Jeremy DePoyster, guitarist Chris Rubey, bassist Andy Trick, keyboardist James Baney and drummer Daniel Williams - has turned a corner by turning up the aggression and turning on the emotions.

- The new album erupts with what The Devil Wears Prada has merely hinted at in the past - it is a brilliant, emotional, captivating and brutal journey that tackles issues of failed relationships and the perseverance of faith.

"We aim to give listeners and fans something they can enjoy, but we'll also always make songs we personally stand behind. We'd write differently if we were purely trying to sell albums, that's just not how it works for us. No compromises." - Vocalist Mike Hranica.

Slayer Prove that Safe Sex is Metal!

There are very few bands in the world that carry the torch of Heavy Metal the way the mighty Slayer does. Slayer has been one of the top Heavy Metal bands in the world, since they came out in 1981. At that time the Bay Area Thrash Metal scene was just a baby, and Slayer quickly became one of the godfathers of the scene.

In a very smart marketing move Slayer has launched the most Metallic condom in the market, the Slayer Condom! You can know order your Slayer condoms by visiting the bands official web-store (see below). Each Slayer condom "matchbook" holds one Durex latex condom, and it's available as a three-pack or six-pack.

FYI: Durex condoms continue to be one of the top condom brands. Endless dedication to research and development, all the time striving for better and safer sex and the constant discovery of new latex formulas and polymer materials makes Durex one of the most requested condom brands of all time. All Durex condoms are FDA-approved and effective against sexually transmitted disease and pregnancy.

Amon Amarth Launches Ragnarök Beer!

When Amon Amarth arrived to the Heavy Metal spectrum, they immediately stomped the ground with lots of might and in a thick Scandinavian accent said: "we are here to kick your ass with some brutal chaotic Metal"! The band was formed in 1988 in Tumba, Sweden, but didn't catch their "break" until 1998 when their full length album titled "Once Sent from the Golden Hall" was released via Metal Blade Records. Ever since then, the band has been one of the most hard working bands in the world and without having a "commercial" sound, they have managed to gather a significant worldwide audience.

In a very organic move, the Swedish Metallers have teamed up with Munster, Indiana's Three Floyds Brewing Company to produce Amon Amarth's Ragnarök Beer!

Here is a description about the Imperial/Strong Porter brew: "A beer for the end of ages brewed with our friends in the band Amon Amarth. This Aesir Porter is a robust and hearty beer brewed with local honey and a small portion of smoked malt. When Heimdall sounds the Giallar-horn this is the beer to be hoisted by the gods in anticipation of the coming battle."

So what does Ragnarök mean?

In Norse mythology, Ragnarök (Old Norse "final destiny of the gods") is a series of future events, including a great battle foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures (including the gods Odin, Thor, Týr, Freyr, Heimdall, and Loki), the occurrence of various natural disasters, and the subsequent submersion of the world in water. Afterward, the world will resurface anew and fertile, the surviving and reborn gods will meet, and the world will be repopulated by two human survivors. Ragnarök is an important event in the Norse canon, and has been the subject of scholarly discourse and theory. - Source: Wikipedia

So crank up some Amon Amarth, drink some Ragnarök and go the band perform live!

Clutch Beer - New Dark & Sour Ale!

When Clutch was ignited in 1991, they had no set agenda or a long-term plan as in what they wanted to accomplish musically. All they knew is that if they wanted to keep themselves from having to get "regular jobs", they would have to dedicate their entire lives to their music and tour, tour, tour. They also realized that in order for them to prevail, they would have to create memorable rocking songs. But they ever plan on one day having their own beer? That's right, Clutch has just announced that they will be launching a brand new Dark & Sour Ale!

The Maryland Rockers have teamed up with American Beer masters New Belgium Brewing Company, to brew, bottle and distribute the brand new Clutch beer! The 9% alcohol by volume dark sour ale joins NBB's Lips of Faith Series, adding to a beer family which already includes the highly popular Fat Tire Ale, which is now sold in over 32 of the 48 continental United States. The beer is available in 22 oz. bottles and a limited amount of kegs. New Belgium and Clutch will officially unleash the ale at a very special kickoff event at the Red Palace in Washington D.C. on Sunday, September 18th, 2011, at which members of Clutch and their label Weathermaker Music will be present. Admission will be limited. So is Clutch going to retire from the music industry and focus on brewing/drinking beer? Think again, the band has a feud of European tour-dates lined up for the Fall (see below).

We had the chance to interview Clutch's axeman Tim Sult at their most recent show in New York City, check it out! And hey, put your beers & Horns Up!

Metal God Rob Halford Turns 60!

Metal God Robert John Arthur "Rob" Halford from British Heavy Metal legends Judas Priest, is celebrating his 60th birthday today! Halford made the world more Metal when his mother gave birth to him on August 25, 1951 in Sutton Coldfield, England, but was raised in Walsall (which was then a part of Staffordshire).

Halford sang in numerous bands before joining Judas Priest in the early 70s, and single-handily changing Heavy Metal forever. Some of the bands he sang with before joining Judas Priest, were Athens Wood, Lord Lucifer, Abraxas, Thark and Hiroshima.

Thanks to his hard work with Judas Priest, the Grammy Award-winning band became a cult within the Heavy Metal. As a result, Halford was nicknamed the "Metal God" after the Judas Priest song of the same name from 1980's British Steel.

The Metal God is is considered one of the most consistently powerful singers in Rock, and he possesses a wide vocal range, and is famous for his high-pitched, operatic, soaring screams. In addition to his work with Judas Priest, he has been involved with several side projects, including Fight, 2wo and Halford. He is also credited as the first openly gay mainstream Heavy Metal star, having come out in 1998.

HEAVY Birthday Rob and we wish you many more Metallic years!

PUi Ritual Reveals Innovative Video Concept: A Public Stunt Captured on Camera by Fans

New York City natives PUi, known for independently selling out venues in New York City and putting on electrifying performances, are getting ready to be filmed for their brand new music video for the single "Army Of Slaves" which is being re-recorded independent of a set release specifically for the video. The catch: the band is making it up to you, the fans, to direct their music video. The band will perform a currently unannounced public stunt and invite fans to come and record footage to be used as the video. There will be no cameramen hired by the band. PUi will announce the date, time and location of the event as well as some insight on the planning stages at www.hearseespeaknoevil.com. All fans have to do is check back with the website periodically for details and show up with a camera when the information is released, ready to film. The best footage submitted to PUicontact@gmail.com will be PUi’s first ever music video.

"We are in the age of interactivity and who better than PUi to take it to the next step. Have people become ONE with our cause." - NC Shuva (Frontman)

The video will be premiered on November 5th in New York City, as PUi Ritual headlines the legendary Irving Plaza (Presented by PUi Ritual, Horns Up Rocks and No Mercy Metal). Joining PUi at what promises to be one of the best local shows of the year, will be Killcode, Anaka, P.T. Grimm, Bound By Substance and Alekhine's Gun! Additionally, the event will be DJed by Horns Up Rocks founder Jo Schüftan and New York City Rock personality Tim Martinez (A.K.A. DJ Tim No. 37).

PUi released an EP in January 2010 entitled, "You Will Clap", which is available for purchase now on iTunes. The EP was recorded at Underground Studios and was produced by band members Shuva and Brian Hosey. It is mixed by Kyle Kelso and mastered by Howie Weinberg. The band plans on releasing a new full-length album within the next year, entitled Neo-Primal.

PUi's sound is a melodic rhythmic texture bred from a relentless mélange of Rock, Alternative, R&B, Punk, Hip-Hop, Middle Eastern motifs, and Electronica. These genres span across the spectrum, fused with dramatic songs and minor melodies, to originate what can only be described as visual and auditory intoxication- on hyperdrive. Beyond being the cultural glitterati of the future, PUi's music is an evolutionary coup in this modern day regression of Rock. Its sheer compositional mastery- with dense instrumental surges, guitar fueled climaxes, hard-hitting beats, and layered melodies- blurs lines between the past, present, and the future. Their songs define what it is to rise up and battle the world with lyrical weaponry, daring to question values, triggering hope and worry, and above all, arousing fascination.

Despite the seemingly effortless compilation of this musical assembly, PUi was not a convenient happening of things- this is no "next-door-garage band" that used to jam after high school let out. PUi stemmed from an ambitious string of consciousness, an instinctive acknowledgement of "this is what needs to be done" to accomplish a vision. From conception to execution, everything is purposeful, and effectively thought out. Intentional. Nothing is accidental. Ethnically diverse and five members strong, PUi mixes it up by bringing in fresh beats from guest artists like MC Rich Nitty and Darbuka player Triplestar.

Whenever asked what "PUi" means, Shuva has one answer: Tabula Rasa. When asked to explain Tabula Rasa, his answer is existential yet concise: “Tabula Rasa is a blank slate. PUi is your blank slate. Look at us. We are your thoughts. We are your judgment.”

PUi is:
- Prince (Nazimcan Shuva) // Vocals, Guitar
- Siren (Leo Henry) // Vocals
- Shaa (Ory Baum) // Drums
- Sub (Brian Hosey) // Bass
- Tek (Tunch) // Darbuka, Percussion

UPCOMING TOUR DATES:

2011 Mayhemfest Artists Perform Pantera’s ‘Walk’ in Tribute to Dimebag Darrell!

The 2011 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival came to a close over a week ago at the Cruzan Ampitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida. For the first time ever the opening act of the main stage was rotated throughout the tour, so some of us got to see Machine Head and some of us got to see Trivium opening the main stage. For most the real action was on the second stages sponsored by Revolver Magazine and Jägermeister, simply because the lineup on both stages was composed of hard hitting bands that could easily be "headliners". The only downfall of the festival was the fact that In Flames had to pull out from the festival due to a family emergency.

Prior to the festivals wrap up show, several of this year’s festival artists took to the mainstage in Dallas, TX to perform a special tribute to Dimebag Darrell by performing Pantera’s "Walk".

Numerous artists on this year’s fest took the time to thank the fans and festival team in a brand new video that can be viewed below:

“The 2011 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival was even more rad than I thought it would be! I got turned on to killer new bands, rediscovered legendary older bands, and played to the hands down best fans on the planet,” states Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin. “From the producers of the whole event down to the carpenters, everything was handled with professionalism and care, making a drama-free environment that was a pleasure to be a part of.”

“The critically acclaimed 'tour of the summer,' the The 2011 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, was quite an enigma to me when we first were approached with the idea,” adds Megadeth vocalist and guitarist Dave Mustaine. “But lemme tell ya, it became real clear that we had made a brilliant decision! I was honored to play for John Reese and whole Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival team.”

“The The 2011 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival was certainly a touring highlight for me in the seven years I have been in Megadeth,” states Megadeth drummer Shawn Drover. “So many fantastic bands, amazing crowds every night and the overall positive vibes both on and off stage between bands, crews and the entire festival staff will be something I will remember for life.”

“What an amazing summer on the the 2011 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival! A huge thanks to John Reese and everyone involved for creating such a band friendly atmosphere for metal and hard rock,” adds Machine Head drummer Dave McClain. “Machine Head are honored to have been a part of it for the second time and we hope there's more in the future!”

Darkest Hour Discuss Past, Present & Future of Musical Career!

Washington D.C.'s Melodic Death Metal badasses Darkest Hour have been hard at work ever since their inception in 1995. With seven albums under their belt and thousands of live performances, they are prove that if a band can combine great songs, great stage presence, and focus on their musical craft no matter what surrounds them, the sky is the limit! By no means is Darkest Hour escaping the decline of the music industry, but they definitely seem unaffected by it when they step on stage and make sure everyone grooves out of control. Simply because most bands within the Heavy Music scene know that they have to struggle in order to succeed.

During the recent Summer Slaughter Tour, we had the chance to interview co-founder and guitarist Mike Schleibaum about the past, the present, and the future of the bands musical career. While he makes it obvious that they are very happy with what they have achieved thus far, he makes it clear that if fans don't understand the importance of supporting the scene by purchasing music and merchandise, that bands wont be able to keep delivering a solid product.

Check out this interview we did with Mike while at the Summer Slaughter Tour show in New York City's Irving Plaza.

Terror - Video premiere of "You're Caught" & "God Damn" Tour Announced!

Arguably considered one of the best Hardcore bands today, Terror decided to go against the grain and to film a video full of graphic violence and gore during and off day from their latest summer festival run in Europe. While this is uncharacteristic for a Hardcore band, Terror wanted to try something different and not film yet another live music video like almost every other Hardcore band. "You're Caught" is premiering today!

"This video was by far the most fun to make. Terror is always known for the generic Hardcore video, and we wanted to do something different-something that had nothing to do with us playing instruments or jumping around all mad. I don't think this is brutal or disturbing-it should make you laugh at us and see a new side to us. Come on, can you really take this thing seriously?? Thanks to Chad Gilbert for coming up with the first idea of this video and letting us run with it." - Scott Vogel

This music video will also be available on the band's new DVD "Defining The Faith", which will be included in their CD/DVD reissue of their latest album, "Keepers Of The Faith". Due out November 1st, this special reissue is a must-have for all Hardcore Terror fans!

In support of this upcoming release, Terror will be back on the road headlining the "God Damn" tour. Terror will be joined by The Acacia Strain, Stray From The Path and Harm's Way.

Behemoth - Behind the Scenes of the making-of Video for "Lucifer"

Poland's Heavy Metal meisters Behemoth have teamed up again with Grupa 13 to produce a behind the scenes video during the production of Behemoth's video for "Lucifer". A track taken from their 2009 release titled "Evangelion". The song clocks in at over eight minutes long and is one of the most atmospheric and foreboding songs in Behemoth's vast catalogue.

The video was shot in Wroclaw, Poland and stars the song's guest vocalist, Maciej Malenczuk. The video is currently being edited and will see a worldwide premiere this September. Behemoth set the bar high with their last video, which was also a Grupa 13 collaboration, "Alas, Lord is Upon Me".

"It's crazy. The making of video is 10 minutes long and you watch it like it was 3 minutes… it's so intense and still, doesn't look like anything we've done before! "Lucifer" was a huge artistic challenge and I managed to create a VERY unique atmosphere. Watch and enjoy while waiting for the final result. The video's gonna fuckin' slay!" - Behemoth front man, Nergal

On other news, Nergal was acquitted for the second time for bible-tearing in Poland, here is what he had to say about this.

"I really had so much faith in judges. The verdict seems to be right. Intelligence and truth won over backward thinking and conservative attitudes; though I'm aware of the fact it's not over yet. The battle is won but the war is on…"

Charred Walls of the Damned NEW Album Details, First Single & Album Cover!

Charred Walls of the Damned returns with the follow up to their critically acclaimed self-titled debut! Richard Christy, Tim "Ripper" Owens, Jason Suecof and Steve DiGiorgio once again join forces to bring to life Christy's latest body of work, "Cold Winds on Timeless Days" (to be released on October 11, 2011 via Metal Blade Records). The writing process for the new album actually began while the band was mixing their 2010 debut. Richard Christy used his experience on the first album to write songs that catered not only to each member's playing style, but to Jason Suecof's production style. The result: demos that turned out nearly identical to what ended up on the album.

With 12 songs clocking in at 58 minutes, fans are getting a lot more music this time around. Recording twelve songs in a short amount of time is no easy feat, but one that was accomplished because of the stellar talents in the band. Christy elaborates further; "I wanted to get a natural sound out of this album, I wanted everyone to be well rehearsed, not that I wanted the album to be rushed, but I wanted the spontaneous live feel and not over think anything too much." Richard Christy describes Cold Winds on Timeless Days as a "perfect storm of producing". Audiohammer's Jason Suecof produced and Mark Lewis mixed, while mastering was handled by Alan Douches at West Westside.

Cold Winds On Timeless Days track listing:

1. Timeless Days
2. Ashes Falling Upon Us
3. Zerospan (Listen below)
4. Cold Winds
5. Lead the Way
6. Forever Marching On
7. Guiding Me
8. The Beast Outside My Window
9. On Unclean Ground
10. Bloodworm
11. Admire the Heroes
12. Avoid the Light

Whitechapel Discuss Life on the Road as a Young Upcoming Band!

Ever since their inception in late 2006, Tennesse's Deathcore kids Whitechapel have been pushing their musical craft to a new level of confidence and power. Lead by vocalist Phil Bozeman, Whitechapel has three guitarists on board who exchange highly powerful technical guitar parts in order to match the groove of the speedy double bass drumming and skull popping bass parts.

They recently co-headlined the 2011 Summer Slaughter Tour with The Black Dahilia Murder, and proved why in just five years they are a force to be reckoned with in the Heavy Music world! We had the chance to interview screamer Phil Bozeman about the cycle of madness that the band has been part of since they got signed by Metal Blade Records in October of 2007, and how life on the road became second nature for them after playing a handful of International Music festivals in which they managed to gain plenty of fans! Here is the interview, which also features live video and images of the band destroying New York City's Irving Plaza!

Whitechapel is:

- Ben Savage
- Gabe Crisp
- Phil Bozeman
- Ben Harclerode
- Alex Wade
- Zach Householder

What a way for the band to celebrate its 30th anniversary!
