Lamb Of God Guitarist Mark Morton Kicks-Off Signature 'Jackson Dominion' Guitar Auction!
Lamb Of God's lead guitarist Mark Morton is auctioning one of his stage guitars played during the band's performance at D-Tox Fest on June 17th in Montebello, Quebec. The guitar, a Mark Morton Signature model Jackson Dominion from Morton's personal collection, is autographed and will come with photographs from the performance and a personal letter of appreciation and authenticity from Morton.
All proceeds from the auction will benefit Victory Junction, a camp for chronically ill children in Randleman, NC. More specifically, the funds generated by the auction will allow a child to experience Victory Junction for the first time.
During a recent visit to the camp, Morton and his family spent time with staff and campers, including 16-year old Brian Walker, a LAMB OF GOD fan, music lover and Victory Junction camper. “Victory Junction is amazing,” explained Morton. “One of the highlights for me was getting to hang out with Brian. Hearing first-hand about how special this camp is to these kids and learning about all the liberating experiences they pack into a week made me that much more thrilled about our auction. Not only will the winning bidder get a beautiful instrument, they will also receive the joy of knowing that their generosity gave a special child, like my buddy Brian, a week at camp that they will surely never forget!”
The auction has begun and will last for 10 days ending on Saturday, October 1st. To participate in the auction visit the link below.
Victory Junction is a year-round camping environment for children ages six to 16 with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses. Founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty in honor of their son Adam, the camp is located in Randleman, NC, with a second location opening soon in Kansas City, KS. Victory Junction offers programs for a range of disease groups and maintains strong relationships with more than 30 partner hospitals. Victory Junction's mission is to provide life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun and empowering, in a safe and medically-sound environment. This mini-album is the follow-on to last year’s triumphant, "Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa". This is what vocalist Dani Filth had to say about “Evermore Darkly…".
“It is a much-loved musical stop-gap between albums, a pleasure treasure trove of wild and wicked wonders primed especially for fans. Something for them to sink their teeth into this autumn as the Cradle invasion fleet is primed for future contagion.”

Anthrax's 'Worship Music' Debuts at #12 on the Billboard Charts!
Legendary Thrash Metal band Anthrax, released their tenth studio entitled 'Worship Music' on Tuesday, September 13 via Megaforce. The very next day the band performed at the 'Big Four' Concert at Yankee Stadium. Today, it was announced that Anthrax's first studio album in eight years and its first with vocalist Joey Belladonna since 1990's Persistence of Time, blasted onto next week's Billboard Top 200 Albums chart at #12, the band's highest chart debut in two decades, and second-highest in its career, selling 28,500 copies.
And if that's not enough, 'Worship Music' debuted at #4 on Billboard's Hard Rock Chart, #3 on the Hard Music Core Chart, and #2 at both the Indie and Indie Core Stores charts.
"I am most proud of our fans who came out and gave us the amazing support they did," said Anthrax's Charlie Benante. "To have our record debut at #12 is a great accomplishment."
Added the band's Scott Ian, "I'm absolutely thrilled with the fact that our Anthrax Army came out in force this week to show the world that good music matters. Thank you to all our friends, old and new! It's a privilege to do this for you."
While the recording of 'Worship Music' was challenging and at some times difficult, it was at the core of an extraordinary experience for a band that had questioned its very future. Anthrax's turning point took place in 2009 at a Cleveland hotel bar with Metallica's Lars Ulrich when he first brought up the idea of The Big Four. That led to Anthrax's decision to get Belladonna back in the band on a permanent basis, and to the complete refashioning of the previously-recorded tracks for 'Worship Music' with Belladonna's inimitable vocal stamp. Pre-release reviews of 'Worship Music' hailed the album as not only a career-best for Anthrax, but "the Metal Album of the year," and last week's New York homecoming concert at Yankee Stadium as one of the original architects of speed and Thrash Metal with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth - The Big Four - only added to Anthrax's remarkable renewal.
Anthrax hits the road beginning October 14 on a five-week, coast-to-coast tour with Testament and Death Angel.

Long Island's "Crazy Donkey" Shuts its Doors for Good!
It saddens us to inform you that the legendary Farmingdale, Long Island venue the "Crazy Donkey" has been shutdown due to lack of business. Here is a statement from Rick Eberle, spokesman for the Crazy Donkey.
“Times are tough and they had to close the doors. Certain shows sometimes do well and sometimes don’t do well. It’s a complicated business plan, there was more stuff going on at the Donkey besides the Rock shows. There were dance nights and that sort of thing, so I guess everyone is a little bit to blame for not enough profit coming in to warrant them keeping the doors open.”
Five shows booked at the Crazy Donkey next month and beyond are canceled. RIP to "The Crazy Donkey"! Here is the last show we covered, it includes an interview we did after the show with Suffocation's own Mike Smith!

"I'm Dr. Ozzy: Advice From Rock's Ultimate Survivor" - Book Details & Signings!
Would you trust Dr. Ozzy Osbourne or take his medical advise seriously? Of course not! But how serious is Osbourne about his medical "career"?
"It's not a serious thing, I mean, I'm the last person to ask advice about health. It's just, it's not fit to be taken seriously. I mean — and I'm not doing it, I'm not writing the column personally, I've got a guy coming around, the guy who did my book, Chris Ayres, is doing the column. He brings me the column things and I just joke about it, you know. 'Cause if you believe me, you'll end up in the lunatic asylum." - Ozzy Osbourne
"Trust Me, I'm Dr. Ozzy" is Ozzy Osbourne's new book, and it offers the reader Ozzy's comical health stories, and his advice for others to become superhuman just like him. The 'Iron Man' will be releasing "I'm Dr. Ozzy: Advice From Rock's Ultimate Survivor" on October 11th via Grand Central Publishing.
This will be Ozzy's second book, his first book "I Am Ozzy" was a New York Times bestseller, which landed at #2 and #3 on the New York Times and Wall Street Journal non-fiction charts, respectively. Here is the Official book description:
"Wondering if science could explain how he survived his 40-year avalanche of drugs and alcohol, Ozzy Osbourne became one of a handful of people in the world to have his entire DNA mapped in 2010. It was a highly complex, $65,000 process, but the results were conclusive: Ozzy is a genetic anomaly. The 'Full Ozzy Genome' contained variants that scientists had never before encountered and the findings were presented at the prestigious TEDMED conference in San Diego-making headlines around the world. The procedure was in part sponsored by The Sunday Times of London, which had already caused an international fururoe by appointing Ozzy Osbourne its star health advice columnist. The newspaper argued that Ozzy's multiple near-death experiences, 40-year history of drug abuse, and extreme hypochondria qualified him more than any other for the job. The column was an overnight hit, being quickly picked up by Rolling Stone to give it a global audience of millions. In 'Trust Me, I'm Dr. Ozzy', Ozzy answers reader's questions with his outrageous wit and surprising wisdom, digging deep into his past to tell the memoir-style survival stories never published before-and offer guidance that no sane human being should follow. Part humor, part memoir, and part bad advice, 'Trust Me, I'm Dr. Ozzy' will include some of the best material from his published columns, answers to celebrities' medical questions, charts, sidebars, and more."
Facts about "Trust Me, I'm Dr. Ozzy":
- The book is based on his ongoing Rolling Stone (U.S.) Sunday Times (U.K.) columns, "Trust Me, I'm Dr. Ozzy".
- It will include some of the best material from the columns, as well as survival stories not found in Ozzy's memoir, his answers to celebrities' medical questions, charts and sidebars, and much more.
- Book description: 100% Ozzy — part memoir and part advice column, delivered with Ozzy's famous wit and humor. It's comprised of reader-submitted medical and lifestyle questions, Ozzy digs deep into his murky past, searching for pearls of "wisdom."
- The genesis of the Dr. Ozzy columns began last year, when Ozzy decided to have his DNA mapped to determine if science could perhaps explain how he survived his nearly four decade avalanche of drugs and alcohol. The "Full Ozzy Genome" contained variants that scientists had never before encountered. In fact, the findings made headlines around the world and even led to Ozzy hosting a prestigious TED conference.

Testament have recently been spending time in the studio recording "Dark Roots Of Earth", the follow up to their 2008 Golden God 'Album of the Year' award winning album, "The Formation of Damnation", released on Nuclear Blast Records to critical acclaim. The album was named SiriusXM Liquid Metal's 'Album of the Year' in 2008, and debuted at #59 on the Billboard Top 200. "The Formation of Damnation" is Testament's highest charting release in their 24-year history.
"We're more than halfway done recording the new album, Dark Roots of Earth. It's coming along as well or better than any album this band has done. It just seems to have a focus, clarity and definition on a level that I don't remember at this point in the process. Of course, you can never truly sum up an album until all the tracks are recorded, the mixes are done and the entire collection is mastered. But from where things stand right now, it's looking like we may have a winner." - Alex Skolnick
The band has spent the last three years touring the world in support of "The Formation of Damnation", and now brings its original, classic lineup back home to the United States with Anthrax and Death Angel.

"When you listen to the songs, they don't sound as 'fun' as we perceive them to be, I guess; it's still pretty extremely heavy material. We had a few songs that were kind of, not left over from 'Crack The Skye', but just stuff that we wanted to be on that album, but that album kind of took on a whole different thing of its own and there were a few stragglers that were super-heavy and crazy that didn't make it, and we finally got to put them on this record. And then we wrote a whole bunch of brand new stuff. There's, like, 14 songs that we recorded. And it's sort all over the place — a lot of different sounds. Some straight-up classic-rock-sounding songs, straight-up death metal-sounding songs and some completely bizarre, weirdo rock songs that we're not really sure what they are, but we love them." - Brann Dailor (On Metal Hammer)
