COAL CHAMBER To Join Forces With Their Former "Enemies" In SEVENDUST?
Late last year, SEVENDUST guitarist Cling Lowery announced that SEVENDUST were might be joining forces with COAL CHAMBER for a massive tour!
Well, according to Blabbermouth, COAL CHAMBER and SEVENDUST will be teaming up for a U.S. co-headlining tour this April. Thus far, only one date has been revealed: April 4 at the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
In 2003, the two bands engaged in a well-publicized feud and even SEVENDUST dedicated their single "Enemy" to COAL CHAMBER's very own Dez Farara. Morgan Rose from SEVENDUST told Tacoma, Washington's The News Tribune at the time about the war of words:
"It's been pretty humorous, actually, because, to be honest, [Dez is] not really someone who's important to society. So it's not like I'm talking about anyone that many people really know about." He continued: "COAL CHAMBER was a really popular band. Now they're not a band anymore, and my [then-]wife [bassist Rayna Foss] was probably the most popular member. The irony of this whole thing was I didn't want to give him any press. ... It was laid out on a press release that I kind of got tricked into. I wanted it to be a more universal song. A lot of people have people they don't like, that treat people that they care about with no respect. [My wife is] the reason I was mad at him in the first place. He treated her awful, while she was pregnant with my daughter inside of her. He was completely stressing her out and making her upset."
Stay tuned for more news about this touring package!
Don't forget that SEVENDUST will set out on a headlining tour with Lacuna Coil starting February 2, 2013 in Winston-Salem, NC at Ziggy’s. Tickets are on sale now! Fans should check their local ticket outlets for purchase info.

ALICE IN CHAINS Premiere Music Video For "Hollow"!
Cantrell’s surgery delayed the release of the NEW material. In an interview published in May 2012, Cantrell explained, "The thing that set me back is I had some bone spurs [and] cartilage issues in my shoulders. I had the same issue in the other shoulder about six years ago so I’ve had them both done now. It’s a repetitive motion injury from playing."
The bands first single out of their upcoming NEW record is called "Hollow" and is now available via iTunes at this link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/hollow-single/id586393217

ASKING ALEXANDRIA's NEW Album Mixes Sounds Of Old School SLIPKNOT & MÖTLEY CRÜE!
ASKING ALEXANDRIA have announced that they have completed the production of their third studio album. The bands NEW batch of music was produced by Joey Sturgis (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, EMMURE) and it was recorded at the Foundation Recording Studios in Indiana and NRG in Hollywood. The bands as-yet-untitled album will see the light of day sometime within the next few months via Sumerian Records.
Here is what guitarist Ben Bruce told GuitarWorld.com about the direction of the bands NEW studio album: "There's a lot of heavy riffage on this record, whereas in the past we relied more on rhythms and breakdowns," he said. "So in that respect it's very much like old SLIPKNOT. But then the choruses and a lot of the bridges are more Rock-based, which is our MÖTLEY CRÜE side."
Bruce was quick to add, however: "The album is by no means a regurgitation of the Eighties. If kids buy this record thinking it's going to sound like [MÖTLEY CRÜE's 1987 effort] 'Girls, Girls, Girls', it doesn't fucking sound like 'Girls, Girls, Girls'. It sounds like ASKING ALEXANDRIA.
"It's a lot more mature than anything we've done before. It's not so much about partying and fucking random girls and doing drugs and stuff. We've actually taken the time to write something that's truly meaningful to us. The last two records were great, and we loved them, but we were different people then. We were a lot younger and had less experience. When you compare the albums, it will definitely show how much we've grown."

ANTHRAX Announce Fill In Lead Guitarist For Metal Alliance Tour!
According to a Tweet by Eddie Trunk (see below), ANTHRAX has recruited SHADOWS FALL guitarist Jon Donais to fill in as lead guitarist at the upcoming Metal Alliance tour. It seems like ANTHRAX like "borrowing" SHADOWS FALL's musicians. The bands drummer Jason Bittner (who is celebrating his 43rd birthday today), filled in for Charlie Benante during last years Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
"Jon is a bro and he's also a total f**king ripper," said Scott Ian. "I've worked with him twice before on side projects and he tears it up. I'm excited to have him on my right burning up the stage with Anthrax. 13's gonna be a good year."
"I grew up on Anthrax, they're the thrash scene, they're one of The Big Four, I'd be crazy to not want to play with them," said Donais. "Initially, Rob called and told me he was leaving the band, and asked if I'd be interested in filling in. Then Scott called me and everything fell into place. Rob and I are using Skype to work on solos and other guitar parts, so he's being great. I also have to give special thanks to my band - Brian, Matt, Jason and Ed - who have been incredibly supportive and encouraged me to do this."
As previously reported HERE, after a long and successful run as guitarist for the legendary Thrash Metal act Anthrax, Rob Caggiano has decided that it's time to move on and focus on his other passion: producing records for the time being. Following news of Caggiano's departure, the remaining members of ANTHRAX - Charlie Benante, Scott Ian, Frank Bello, Joey Belladonna - were bombarded with tons of inquiries of aspiring guitarists who wanted to audition for the band!

Following news of Caggiano's departure, the remaining members of ANTHRAX - Charlie Benante, Scott Ian, Frank Bello, Joey Belladonna - were bombarded with tons of inquiries of aspiring guitarists who wanted to audition for the band!
The response was so overwhelming, that the band had to post the following message on their Facebook page:
"We love you all, and are confident you shred like Yngwie Malmsteen after a case of Red Bull, but to answer all 57,000 messages at once, WE ARE NOT DOING AUDITIONS for lead guitarist. \m/"
"Rob has been an integral part of Anthrax for so many years, as our lead guitarist, in a production capacity, but most of all, as our close friend", commented the band in a collective statement. "His contributions to the band have been enormous. While we are sad that he is leaving, we wish him nothing but great success going forward, and hope to share the stage with him again sometime down the road.
"With the Metal Alliance Tour on the horizon, we have been considering several lead guitarist options, and will be making an announcement on that shortly."

THE Motörheadphones Have Arrived; Lemmy Kilmister Part Of Press Conference!
THE Motörheadphones have arrived! The loudest band in the world, unveiled their NEW "cans" this past Tuesday (January 8) at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV. The bands god, Lemmy Kilmister, was present at a press conference (watch it below). Here is the official description of the Motörheadphones written by the band:
"We all love the deep, low, warm feeling of that body-shuddering sound called 'bass'. It rumbles through your chest like a juggernaut, feeling like it's coming from within instead of a speaker off in the distance. Unfortunately most headphone makers (in a desperate hunt to achieve that warm low end) end up sacrificing the presence and dynamics in the mid and high end areas of the sound spectrum. The result is no warm low end body-shuddering bass experience.
"And you lose the guitar sound, because in this misguided attempt to achieve the warm low end, the low/mid range is also lost. A double negative really. One which we weren't prepared to engage in.
"When we at Motörheadphönes developed our headphones, we immediately went to the very top of the professional headphone range as a bench mark. Why wouldn't we? We want to make the best, so we refer to the best of the best.
"Another thing we realized, was that most of the music we listen to today, is guitar-based rock and pop. There was nothing which allowed for the heavy rock experience, nothing which could accommodate the crushing power of loud rock'n'roll.
"Obviously somebody needed to do something, and that somebody was the iconic Motörhead, the genuine road warriors for the last three decades. This is why we can now, after hard work and collaboration, proudly present Motörheadphönes, by rockers for rockers."
As previously reported, MOTÖRHEAD have announced that they will be entering the studio this January with longtime producer Cameron Webb to begin recording their next studio album for a mid-2013 release. "We'll go into the rehearsal room about a month before the album and just bang stuff out," MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister tells Billboard.com.

ANTHRAX To Fans: "WE ARE NOT DOING AUDITIONS for lead guitarist"
As previously reported HERE, after a long and successful run as guitarist for the legendary Thrash Metal
act Anthrax, Rob Caggiano has decided that it's time to move on and
focus on his other passion: producing records for the time being.
As previously announced, in the spring of 2013, the headbangers of North America will welcome the third chapter of the Metal Alliance Tour. The event will be headlined by ANTHRAX who will be performing 'Among The Living' in its entirety. The lineup thus far includes:
