Amy Winehouse Dead at 27
Pop diva Amy Winehouse was found dead at her home in London on Saturday afternoon. According to various news outlets paramedics were called at around 4 PM, but when they arrived Winehouse was already dead. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
The 27 year old artist had recently canceled her European Tour after a horrible performance in the Serbian capital of Belgrade in which she was booed off the stage after arriving late to the show and stumbling all over the place.
Winehouse has been famous for her addictions and erratic behavior since she released "Back to Black" in 2006, which established her as a worldwide phenomenon. Winehouse will always be remembered for being a tough, no-nonsense R&B singer with a '60s-inspired vintage vibe.
In 2008 Winehouse became a Grammy Award winner, and took home the awards for song and record of the year for "Rehab." Winehouse was also named best new artist at the ceremony. Prior to the ceremony, Winehouse had entered a rehabilitation facility and was denied a U.S. visa. As a result, she ended up performing on the live Grammy telecast via satellite from London.
In 2009 Winehouse was scheduled to headline the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival but had to cancel her performance after she was charged with assault for attacking a fan week before the festival.
Regardless of her antics and her addictions, Amy Winehouse will always be remembered for being a stellar artist that influenced millions of people worldwide! This is a tragic loss for the entire music community, and we hope that Amy Winehouse finally gets to Rest In Peace!
