Former Anthrax Singer Dan Nelson Files Lawsuit Against Anthrax!
The story behind the departure of Dan Nelson from Anthrax, is one of the biggest mysteries within Heavy Music in the last few years. The band claims that in 2009 Nelson "abruptly resigned" Anthrax, after getting sick and forcing a cancellation of a tour. Nelson claims that Anthrax fired him out of the blue, while the band was in the final stages of production of their latest album "Worship Music".
Recently, Anthrax's drummer Charlie Benante said during an interview that Nelson was "bullying" the band. This added the last piece of coal to Nelson's fire, and now he is suing Anthrax for 2.65 million dollars for "intentional defamation" that has caused him a loss of income and has damaged his reputation within the scene. Additionally, the Manhattan federal court charges that Nelson didn't receive his fair share of profits for the songs he wrote for Anthrax's latest album "Worship Music".
