The 2011 Album Of The Year: Anthrax 'Worship Music' - Recap Video Available!
After eight years of patiently waiting for some new Anthrax music, on September 13, 2011, Anthrax's global fan-base finally got to quench their musical thirst with some new music by New York's Thrash Metal legends. Their NEW album 'Worship Music' dropped the day before the band played The Big 4 show at Yankee Stadium. 'Worship Music' also marked the return of Joey Belladonna on vocals, who is singing with Anthrax for the first time since 1990's 'Persistence of Time', and sounds better than ever.
Anthrax's 30th anniversary was celebrated in style with the release of 'Worship Music', an album with a very straightforward message: "Everybody has the bands they like. This fans get very excited with what they hear and pretty much love the style of the band... then they stay loyal to that band forever", commented Joey Belladonna.
Prior to the release of 'Worship Music', on September 12th Anthrax played a FREE show in their hometown of New York City. The event also featured the 'Metal Masters Clinic 2', which took place right before Anthrax took center stage. Once on stage, Anthrax performed a handful of NEW songs for the first time ever and the crowd responded with a massive roar!
On September 14th, the day of the 'Big Four' concert at Yankee Stadium in New York City, this day was declared "Anthrax Day" by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. Once on stage, event though it was only 4:30 PM, Anthrax warmed up the ear buds and necks of thousands of headbangers!
After the 'Big 4', Anthrax went on tour with Testament and Death Angel. The tour was such a big success, that the bands are doing it again in 2012 (all tourdates are listed below). In order to commemorate Anthrax's triumph, we produced the following video. Congratufuckinlations ANTHRAX! \m/
