LOCK UP Perform In New York City For The First Time Ever - Images Available!

Last Thursday, February 16, extreme Metallers Lock Up, the UK Death Metal group featuring genre veterans, Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates, Disfear), Nicolas Barker (ex-Cradle Of Filth, ex-Dimmu Borgir),Anton Reisenegger (Criminal, Pentagram) and Dan Lilker (who stepped in for Shane Embury), performed their first-ever New York City show. Joining Lock Up on the last show of the tour at Club Europa in Brooklyn, NY, were Goatwhore and Strong Intention!

On their first-ever North American tour Lock Up was touring in support of their third studio album, 'Necropolis Transparent', which hit stores in July on Nuclear Blast Records.

For the conclusion of Lock Up's first-ever U.S. tour, the crowd was warmed up by the mighty Goatwhore, who were celebrating the release of their brand NEW album entitled 'Blood For The Master'. The Blackened Death Metallers from NOLA, always arrive at a venue ready to open up a can of whoop ass and make sure that nobody stands still! The lucky fans who attended this show, got the pleasure of being one of the first crowds to listen to a number of brand NEW ass kicking Goatwhore songs from 'Blood For The Master'. One of the best things about Goatwhore will always be their ability to get any crowd grooving out of control.

But hey, right before Goatwhore our ears were enthralled by the awesome music from Strong Intention. Their musical power was evident to all of the crowd from the moment they stepped on stage, who couldn't take their eyes and ears away from this Death Metal band with a flavor of Punk Rock! Check them out!

Right before Lock Up went on stage, we were backstage and saw Lock Up's frontman Tomas Lindberg doing everything possible to step on stage and deliver the crowd that they paid money to see: a furious musical display of in your face Lock Up music. He was gargling salt water, swallowing cough drops, and spraying his throat with no remorse. It turns out that Lindberg, who is known for his insane vocal power, was suffering of laryngitis!

Once on stage with Lock Up he made it clear that he wasn't at 100%, but he still managed to perform the bands entire set by abusing his throat and not missing a beat! The band took the crowd into a trip of their entire music catalog and delivered a vulgar display of extreme music. While vocally speaking the band didn't sound as powerful, drummer Nicolas Barker kept the fans entertained thanks to his phenomenal drumming skills! And while it was a pity that Lock Up's founder and guitarist Shane Embury (Napalm Death & Brujeria) wasn't part of the bands tour, Dan Lilker was a lot of fun to watch on stage crushing ear drums!

All in all, this was yet another great Heavy Metal show in 2012 and we really hope Lock Up is back soon at a bigger/better venue!
