A Bunch Of SLIPKNOT Updates: NEW Album, "Knotfest", Greatest Hits Collection & More!

After the passing of Paul Gray (#2), the Heavy Music world became to a halt awaiting for SLIPKNOT to either end their musical legacy or to continue spreading the sickness! As we all know, May 24 was the two-year anniversary of Gray's death from an overdose of drugs.

Thankfully, after months of mourning the band decided to pay tribute to Paul Gray by headlining the 2010 version of the Sonisphere Festival in Knebworth, England. While the band has been skeptic about recording the follow up for 2008's 'All Hope Is Gone' (available now via Roadrunner Records), since they didn't feel like they were in the proper head space. SLIPKNOT vocalist Corey Taylor has confirmed that the group is finally "putting together demos" for its fifth major label album, which it is expected to begin recording next year for a mid-to-late 2013 release.

Additionally, SLIPKNOT will make a "big announcement" tomorrow (Monday, June 4th), according to a posting on the band's official Facebook page. The artwork that accompanied the message can be seen on the left hand side of this paragraph.

As previously announced, SLIPKNOT's greatest-hits album, 'Antennas To Hell', is scheduled for release on July 17 via Roadrunner Records. There is no word yet on which tracks will be included on "Antennas To Hell", and if it will contain any previously unheard music or other bonus content.  Click here to view the trailers for 'Antennas To Hell'!

According to Ticketmaster.com, SLIPKNOT will be headlining the inaugural installment of their own festival, "Knotfest", on Friday, August 17 at Mid America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, Iowa.
