METALLICA to begin recording NEW studio album this September - Video Interview Available!

As previously reported, Rolling Stone magazine sat down with all the four members of METALLICA — guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo — at the bands headquarters in San Rafael, California.

When asked about how far along is the band with the writing of the NEW album, James Hetfield said: "I only have 846 riffs. In iTunes, you can see how many things you've got. And that does not include the soundchecks, the stuff we goof around with here. You plug in an amp. Suddenly it makes you feel good — you come up with a riff. 'Dude, did you get that?' You can't get away from being recorded here."

During an Outside Lands festival media call, METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich said that they're looking to get into the studio in September to work on their NEW album, and reflects on the band's busy 2012. Here is the interview, courtesy of Artisan News:



In a historical twist of events, METALLICA will be performing eight concerts in Mexico City! Heavy Metal's biggest band, will be performing at the Sports Palace in Mexico City on July 28 & 30 and August 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, & 9. Additionally, the band will be unveiling their NEW stage: a 140x50-foot stage that features colossal components and striking visual elements spanning Metallica's 30-year career.

Then they will be performing a hometown show in San Francisco, California as part of the Outside Lands festival at the Golden Gate Park!
