Oh yes, you read that headline just right! SLAYER's classic song "Raining Blood", taken from one of he most influential Heavy Metal albums of all time ('Reign In Blood), was picked by Google for a 30 second commercial. The commercial is for Google's NEW Chromebooks by Samsung. The commercial is part of Google's NEW campaign that is designed around the "a computer for everyone" theme. Watch it below.
Google's NEW Chromebooks will be sold in 100 Best Buy stores, to be expanded to 500 stores, which will have special Chromebook kiosks staffed by Google-trained specialists. The NEW Chromebook will also be available for order online, including in the Google Play store.
Slayer recently wrote Heavy Metal history as they performed in India for the first time in the bands career. The
bands historic performance took place at the Vladivar Rock 'N India
event in Bangalore, India. Footage available HERE!
As previously reported, SLAYER have two songs recorded for their next
batch of NEW music. Kerry King recently announced that they have two
more songs in the grill, that are missing vocals and leads. During a
recent interview with Artisan News, King spoke about the NEW album and
whither or not Jeff Hanneman's spider bite injury (more about this HERE)
will delay the production of the record.
Has Jeff Hanneman's injury delayed the NEW SLAYER?
"Not
yet. We've recorded very little. We got a little bit done. We had a
12-day window where we hijacked [producer] Greg Fidelman from METALLICA
 and worked with him a little bit. So we've got two [new songs] done;
they've gotta be mixed. We've got two other ones that need vocals and
leads. [There are] three other demos and three other [tracks] we still
have to demo. But [this summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival
tour] is the last thing we're doing, so hopefully we'll get [the rest of
the album] done before we pick up and tour again in October."
Jeff Hanneman's flesh eating disease.
"You
hear about it, but I didn't even think we had that kind of spider in
California. And I really think at the end of the day it's a speculation,
because his arm was so fucked up, I can't imagine them even finding
where they think it started, if you had my opinion. But, you know, that
flesh-eating stuff, you can get scratched by a nail, you can get
scratched by anything, and if you don't take care of it, it's gonna turn
into something like that. But whatever got him, that is what happened —
  he had had the disease."
