The Misfits' Halloween Show Postponed Due To Weather Complications!

That bitch Sandy strikes again! The annual Misfits concert in New York City has been postponed due to weather conditions. This time around the concert was scheduled to take place tonight at the Highline Ballroom in Manhattan. Yes the storm is over, but it is still nearly impossible to get from point A to point B pretty much everywhere within the tri-state area.

There isn't a more iconic name in the horror Punk genre than The Misfits. Hailed as an influence and covered by numerous successful and diverse artists ranging from Metallica to Guns N' Roses, the band has remained relevant throughout its illustrious 35-year career. Formed in April 1977 in Lodi, New Jersey, and named after Marilyn Monroe's last movie, the band mixes the sound of Punk Rock with horror elements – a mix that has stood the test of time and become the group's legacy.

From their inception, The Misfits have been primal. Their music is aggressive, confrontational, and dangerous with violent lyrics as seen through the eyes of a monster, coupled with timeless vocal melodies bred from '50s Rock N' Roll. Immortalizing black and white B horror films in their music, The Misfits have developed a ghoulish and totally unique persona, from their handmade musical weapons to the stiletto hairstyle they call the "devil lock". Over 30 years on, the band has endured Hardcore's heyday as Punk Rock's monster squad, a group whose cult following – a pseudo-secret coven known as the "Fiend Club" – has inspired them to continue to write, record, and tour. These "Fiends," who are still multiplying globally, go back now several generations and also include many prominent artists across the Rock genre.

Although The Misfits' lineup has shifted over the course of its career, the group has consistently released incredible, genre-defining albums, including 'Walk Among Us' (1982), 'American Psycho' (1997), and 'Famous Monsters' (1999). Most recently, in 2011 the band released 'The Devil's Rain', its first album of NEW material in over 10 years. The band toured for a good portion of the year in support of the NEW release, unleashing a fresh stage production with all NEW costumes and props.

We will let you know when The Misfits bring their trademark brand of horror punk to New York City as part of their unforgettable Halloween bash. A reschedule date will be announced soon, so stay tuned.
