SHADOWS FALL: Health Update On Drummer Jason Bittner!
As previously announced, drummer Jason Bittner (SHADOWS FALL) has been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis (a very serious disease). The same disease that sidelined Rex Brown (KILL DEVIL HILL, ex-PANTERA & DOWN) in 2009.
As a result, SHADOWS FALL were forced to cancel the first four dates of their recent headlining tour with GOD FORBID, THY WILL BE DONE and TRUMPET THE HARLOT. He will also be missing a portion of the bands current tour with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE. Covering for Bittner will be Willis Mathiasen.
Bittner has posted the following update on his Facebook page:
"Well, I'm happy to say that I'm feeling much better, back to playing, and almost feel 100%. Too bad my insides are still not 100%, but they're healing nicely, primarily due to me staying off the road and resting. I have another round of bloodwork next week, in which the docs think I should be back to all normal internal functions by then, but they still are prohibiting me from leaving until after my endoscope on December 18 (they need to hopefully find the cause of the pancreatitis, and whether or not anything else is going on as well — but I feel pretty confident that I'll be OK).
"So what does this mean to SHADOWS FALL? It means that I, sadly, will not be able to return until after [December] 18. In the meantime please go continue to support the band on the KILLSWITCH ENGAGE tour with my boy Willis Mathiasen covering for me. He's got a tough job and he's handling it like a pro, from what I've seen and heard… I'm really missing the band, and the fans and tour, but I promise that I WILL be on the last dates of the tour after [Christmas starting with the Baltimore concert on December 27]. Well, unless the apocalypse actually comes on [December] 21!!!"

SHADOWS FALL's Jason Bittner Unable To Perform During Remaining Dates For "Party To The Apocalypse Tour" - Replacements Announced!

As a result, SHADOWS FALL were forced to cancel the first four dates of their previously announced headlining tour with GOD FORBID, THY WILL BE DONE and TRUMPET THE HARLOT. It has just been announced that Bittner will not be able to perform with his band this time around, but the show will go on. Here is what Bittner had to say about this:
"As of last week I was told to rest for one more week and then as long as I'm feeling better, I can resume starting to play again in order to recoup and rejoin the tour- at this present time it's hard to say exactly when I will be 110%, maybe a week, maybe 2, maybe even longer, but rest assured I will be doing my best to get back as soon as humanly possible without chancing a relapse. I appreciate all the well-wishing and support, so in my absence please still go and support my other bandmates and the Party to the Apocalypse tour!" I shall return" - Jason

SHADOWS FALL Cancel A Series Of Tour Dates Due To Jason Bittner's Illness - Official Statement Available!
As previously announced, drummer Jason Bittner (SHADOWS FALL) has been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis (a very serious disease). The same disease that sidelined Rex Brown (KILL DEVIL HILL, ex-PANTERA & DOWN) in 2009.
As a result, SHADOWS FALL have canceled the first four dates of their previously announced headlining tour with GOD FORBID, THY WILL BE DONE and TRUMPET THE HARLOT. Commented SHADOWS FALL drummer Jason Bittner: "For those who may not know, I was diagnosed last week with acute pancreatitis. Bittner posted the statement via his Facebook page:
"For most of the last SHADOWS FALL tour, I was in a lot of abdominal pain, which I figured was either food poisoning or a stomach bug. Unfortunately, it turns out to be a little more serious than that.
"After a trip to the ER last Monday, I received the diagnosis and some pain treatment.
"That being said, it pains me to say that due to doctor's orders, I am not cleared (nor do I even feel like I could pick up a stick) to begin touring until after I see the specialist and my blood work is back to normal.

SHADOWS FALL: Drummer Jason Bittner Diagnosed With Acute Pancreatitis
This sucks! It has been reported by drummer Jason Bittner (SHADOWS FALL) that he has been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis (a very serious disease). The same disease that sidelined Rex Brown (KILL DEVIL HILL, ex-PANTERA & DOWN) in 2009. Bittner posted the following statement via his Facebook page:
"For over a week, what I thought was a stomach bug (and I was still on tour when all of this started), I came home last week and went to the doctors, and it was written off as just that, a bug. This past Saturday, the pain came back and lingered into Sunday, which forced me into the emergency room yesterday. After a day in the hospital, I was poked, prodded, tested and it turns out I have acute pancreatitis, which I'm told can be very serious if left untreated. They're not sure what brought it on (my doctor thinks it was viral), but I have been told by my doctors to not leave this week because I need to sent for more tests/MRI, etc., to make 100% sure I'll be road ready for the second leg of the SHADOWS FALL tour, which starts November 8. I should be fine, but needless to say, I'm very disappointed I will not be able to come perform in Austin this week! Maybe PASIC 2013??"
