ALICE IN CHAINS: Samples Of Every Song From 'The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here' Available Now!

As you probably know by now, ALICE IN CHAINS' fifth studio album entitled 'The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here'
will be released this coming Tuesday, May 28. The album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones) and engineered by Paul Figueroa. You can listen to samples of the record at the following link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-devil-put-dinosaurs-here/id622941441

The samples found at the link above is the only taste you will get of the NEW AIC, since they refuse to perform any of these songs until the record comes out next week. This is what Jerry Cantrell had to say about this:

"You always have to protect your stuff, but it's something you now have to be way more careful about. Early on, with the demos for 'Facelift', before it even came out, we were hanging out with the Pantera guys, and Phil Anselmo talked me into giving him a copy back in '89. He started passing copies around to bands and shit, and then [then-Columbia president] Don Ienner got in my ass for that. It didn't go that far, though, just to a few bands. If that happens today, it goes everywhere. If somebody turned you on to something back when I was coming up, it was that much more special: "Nobody's heard this yet. Check this out." I'm from a different era, and I just haven't gotten used to it. I don't necessarily think it's a healthier situation for music or for people who enjoy music."

ALICE IN CHAINS are currently on your. For information on where to purchase tickets, head to www.aliceinchains.com/tour.

Layne Staley's Mother Sues The Surviving Members Of ALICE IN CHAINS - Details Available!

Wow! The surviving members of ALICE IN CHAINS - Jerry Cantrell, Mike Inez, Sean Kinney, William DuVall - are being sued by Nancy Staley (Layne Staley's mother).

Seattlepi reports that Staley’s mother claims that the surviving members of the band owe her half of the money due to Staley – about 16 percent of the their income. According to the lawsuit, the band has attempted to cut her out of any further payments.

Attorneys for the band contend Mrs. Staley illegally attempted to trademark the Alice in Chains name and that she has already been paid far more than she is due. Staley’s ex-bandmates also say Staley’s heirs will be able to collect royalties on songs he wrote or co-wrote, while arguing McCallum no longer has a role in the band’s business decisions.

ALICE IN CHAINS Are NOT Splitting Up; US Tour Begins Tonight!

As you probably know by now, ALICE IN CHAINS' fifth studio album entitled 'The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here' will be released on May 14. The album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones) and engineered by Paul Figueroa.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Jerry Cantrell reassured fans that the band is not breaking up following the release of their highly anticipated NEW album. During an interview with Fuse TV (see below), Cantrell said that he looks at every NEW record "like it's your last" and that he could "rest happily with this being the last record, if that's what it was". Following the interview, the usual onslaught of ridiculous "is this the end of ALICE" headlines surfaced all over the internet. Cantrell has cleared the air, telling Billboard. "What I said was, I approach every record as if it were my last, trying to make it the best record it can be. That's what I meant".

Although there are fans who are not interested in hearing anything by this version of ALICE IN CHAINS, Cantrell said, "I don't do this for what people tell me I should do with my life, or my band. I do what I want to do and what my band wants to do. And we continue to do that".

Beginning tonight, Alice In Chains will be playing a number of headline tour and festival dates. Complete date and venue information are listed below. For information on where to purchase tickets, head to www.aliceinchains.com/tour.

ALICE IN CHAINS Respond To Allegations That Their NEW Album 'The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here' Is Satanic

As you probably know by now, ALICE IN CHAINS' fifth studio album entitled 'The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here'
will be released on May 14. The album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones) and engineered by Paul Figueroa.

During a recent interview with Noisecreep, the band responded to allegations that their NEW album cover is satanic. If you look closely at the image above, you will notice that the dinosaur that appears on the cover contains a symmetrical hologram of that same dinosaur. When combined together it looks like the face of the devil.

“They’re not wrong for believing that dinosaur stuff, but we aren’t wrong for asking them to explain it either,” says drummer Sean Kinney.

“Are we supposed to believe that some little mythical dude with cloven hooves cruised around the planet hiding bones that were millions of years old to fool us for some fucking reason? It’s ridiculous.”

The band’s leader, Jerry Cantrell, further discussed religion in general:

“I think there’s overwhelming evidence that things aren’t working right now. We need to start growing up as a people,” he says.

“When you’re teaching people that being gay is a mortal sin, yet a good portion of the people teaching this are fucking kids, there’s a huge problem.

“It’s insane when a religion tells you it’s OK to strap a bomb on yourself to blow someone else up because they believe in something different. If a religion is teaching you that it’s OK to hurt somebody, exclude somebody, dominate somebody — I have a problem with it. The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here just speaks to the lamer parts of how those things are taught and the shitty things we do to each other because of our different beliefs.”

Here are some of the song titles out of the NEW AIC record:

- Voices - Low Ceiling - Stone - The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here - Hollow - Lab Monkey - Hung On A Hook - Pretty Done - Breath On A Window - Choke - Phantom Limb

Beginning later this month, Alice In Chains will be playing a number of headline tour and festival dates this Spring. Complete date and venue information are listed below. For information on where to purchase tickets, head to www.aliceinchains.com/tour.

ALICE IN CHAINS Featured On A Hilarious Video With Cameos By Lars Ulrich, Rob Trujillo, Duff McKagan & More!

ALICE IN CHIANS have released a documentary called "AIC 23". The doc was produced by Alan Poole, a Film Studies Professor at a community college. "AIC 23" is a tongue-in-cheek film about Alan Poole’s attempt to provide some insight on the life of the band today, but with little luck reaching them, he then opts to interview other “musicians” who may or may not have been influenced by the band.

The doc also features cameos by METALLICA's Lars Ulrich and Rob Trujillo, HEART's Ann and Nancy Wilson, PEARL JAM's Mike McCready, SOUNDGARDEN's Kim Thayil and LOADED's Duff McKagan.

ALICE IN CHAINS Premiere Music Video For "Hollow"!

This year, ALICE IN CHAINS will release their as-yet-untitled fifth studio album. The album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones) and engineered by Paul Figueroa.

Cantrell’s surgery delayed the release of the NEW material. In an interview published in May 2012, Cantrell explained, "The thing that set me back is I had some bone spurs [and] cartilage issues in my shoulders. I had the same issue in the other shoulder about six years ago so I’ve had them both done now. It’s a repetitive motion injury from playing."

This year, ALICE IN CHAINS will release their as-yet-untitled fifth studio album. The album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones) and engineered by Paul Figueroa. Here is what Cantrell had to say about the upcoming ALICE IN CHAINS record:

“It’s like having to deal with the sophomore jinx for the second time in our career,” Cantrell told Richard Bienstock in the latest issue of Guitar World.

"In my opinion, that record stood up to anything else we’ve put out in our career. And this new one is right up there as well."
