VOIVOD Guitarist Daniel Mongrain Performs METALLICA Classics With The Academis Les Estacades Symphonic Orchestra!

Guitarist Daniel Mongrain (VOIVOD, ex-MARTYR) was invited by the Academis Les Estacades symphonic orchestra from his hometown of Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada to perform 15 classic METALLICA songs. The orchestra's special performance was directed by Sebastien Lepine (SLP) and longtime friends Martin Carbonneau (Guitar), Bob St-Laurent (Vocals), Rock Laroche (Bass) and Simon Lanoglois (Drums). The setlist, which you can see below, was based on the METALLICA's 'S&M' album but also featured other tracks which were specially arranged by Pierre Peterson for the occasion.

The free concert, which took place on July 28 at Portuaire park, was attended by around 4,000 people, ranging in age "from 7 to 77 years old," according to Mongrain.
