Having spent several years lauded as one of the frontrunners in their genre, in 2012 WHITECHAPEL stand as a defining force in contemporary heavy music. Building dramatically on the trademarked bludgeon of their first three releases, with Whitechapel the Tennessean sextet have inarguably delivered their most intense, dynamic, and downright hostile record to date. Drenched in atmospheric darkness, the record is also rife with gripping melodies that drag the listener in to the tumult, willing or otherwise, and across its ten tracks it is infused with an emotional depth that pointedly separates the band from the plethora of two-dimensional mosh-starters that have sprung up in their wake.
Whitechapel, the band's self-titled fourth album, is slated for a June 19th release date via Metal Blade Records. Today WHITECHAPEL have unveiled the album artwork, tracklisting and released the first single from the album.
Whitechapel Tracklisting:
1) Make it Bleed
2) Hate Creation
3) (Cult)uralist
4) I, Dementia
5) Section 8
6) Faces
7) Dead Silence
8) The Night Remains
9) Devoid
10) Possibilities of an Impossible Existence
The album was engineered and mixed by Mark Lewis (Black Dahlia Murder, DevilDriver), who also handled production duties alongside the band. The album artwork was created by Aaron Marsh of Forefathers Group with art direction provided by WHITECHAPEL.
The first single from Whitechapel entitled "Hate Creation" is available for streaming exclusively below (courtesy of Metal Blade Records) HERE. Check it out and be sure to pre-order your copy of the album.
Returning to their rightful place on the road, the band are enthused to take these new songs to their rabid fan base. They stand confident in their belief that their followers will hungrily devour the latest evolution of their sound, and having dramatically bolstered their fan base through blowing away the unsuspecting crowds on 2010's Warped Tour they are sure to draw in new adherents anywhere they play.
WHITECHAPEL are set to tour with Miss May I, After the Burial, Within the Ruins, and The Plot in You as part of the "Recorruptor" kicking off May 3rd in Louisville, KY and running through May 17th in Portland, ME. Immediately following the tour, the band is set to play at this year's Bamboozle Festival is Asbury Park, NJ on May 18th. Whitechapel Devours Ear Drums with NEW Song "Section 8"
Ever since they surfaced into the Heavy Music spectrum in late 2006, Tennesse's Deathcore kids Whitechapel have been pushing the boundaries of Metal with plenty of vicious power. Lead by vocalist Phil Bozeman, Whitechapel has three guitarists on board who exchange highly powerful technical guitar parts in order to match the groove of the speedy double bass drumming and skull popping bass parts.
When we interviewed Bozeman at the bands co-headlining run on this years Summer Slaughter tour (see below), he told us that the band has been working on new music and that they should have a new album ready by Summer 2012. Well, he wasn't kidding! The band has a new song called "Section 8" that will absolutely crush all your senses.
'Section 8' Lyrics (By: Phil Bozeman)
We are nothing
Fuck your lives
... I hate everyone
Look through the eyes of a madman.
The skeletons in your closet, have rotted to the bone. They're your families, your loved ones, they're never coming home.
This world will rot from the inside out.
We all have created the evil that worships our souls
I am no exception
We all have hidden agendas we claim don't exist.
You are no exception
How many times will it take
to open your eyes to reality's flaws. How many minds will it take to rot away and shut the system down.
Now society's future cries can be heard in present day. And your ancestors are turning in their fucking graves.
We are nothing, we are worthless. Medicate your brain to eliminate all the hate you create. We are nothing, we are worthless. This will be the day we all meet our fate and forever decay.
(I am already dead, I am already forgotten. Until the day comes that I am proven wrong, I will wither away with the rest of you. We have made us this way. We have become worthless.)
We are nothing
You're all worthless
