The day has arrived! Black Veil Brides' NEW album 'Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones', a concept album like none other, isnow available via Lava Music/Universal Republic Records. And get this, it is already number 1 on iTunes! Get the album HERE
Concept albums are really tricky since many times the music gets lost within the story behind the record or the story gets lost within the music itself. In this case, Black Veil Brides have managed to find a workable equation between their music and the story behind 'Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones'. Additionally, the band's first ever full-length music film "Legion of the Black" accompanies the bands third studio album.
"Legion Of The Black is a 45-minute companion piece to Wretched And Divine. Unlike similar features, which use the themes of the album to create an original story, Legion chooses to let the music and interludes of the album guide what you see in the story" - Under The Gun Review We recently had the chance to listen to the entire record and watch some of the movie at a private listening/viewing party at the New York City headquarters of Universal/Republic Records, in which 20 lucky fans were invited and were surprised by a visit from the bands vocalist Andy Biersack. After carefully listening to the record and watching the reaction of some of the members of the "BVB Army" at the event, there is no doubt in our minds that Black Veil Brides will make plenty of noise in 2013 and beyond! Right after Biersack suprised his fans by "crashing" the listening/viewing party, we had the chance to chat with him about the bands latest musical project 'Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones' and the challenges the band faced in the creation of their very first concept album, and their first music film. We also discussed the production process and how it differed from their previous releases. Additionally, Biersack told us what the band has planned for 2013. Now it's time to sit back, relax, and watch this EXCLUSIVE interview!
Ever since they surfaced into the Heavy Music spectrum in late 2006, Tennesse's Deathcore kids Whitechapel have been pushing the boundaries of Metal with plenty of vicious power. Lead by vocalist Phil Bozeman, Whitechapel has three guitarists on board who exchange highly powerful technical guitar parts in order to match the groove of the speedy double bass drumming and skull popping bass parts.
When we interviewed Bozeman at the bands co-headlining run on this years Summer Slaughter tour (see below), he told us that the band has been working on new music and that they should have a new album ready by Summer 2012. Well, he wasn't kidding! The band has a new song called "Section 8" that will absolutely crush all your senses.
'Section 8' Lyrics (By: Phil Bozeman)
We are nothing
Fuck your lives
... I hate everyone
Look through the eyes of a madman.
The skeletons in your closet, have rotted to the bone. They're your families, your loved ones, they're never coming home.
This world will rot from the inside out.
We all have created the evil that worships our souls
I am no exception
We all have hidden agendas we claim don't exist.
You are no exception
How many times will it take
to open your eyes to reality's flaws. How many minds will it take to rot away and shut the system down.
Now society's future cries can be heard in present day. And your ancestors are turning in their fucking graves.
We are nothing, we are worthless. Medicate your brain to eliminate all the hate you create. We are nothing, we are worthless. This will be the day we all meet our fate and forever decay.
(I am already dead, I am already forgotten. Until the day comes that I am proven wrong, I will wither away with the rest of you. We have made us this way. We have become worthless.)

Rare Clips From The Vault: A montage of old rare footage
Ever since their inception in late 2006, Tennesse's Deathcore kids Whitechapel have been pushing their musical craft to a new level of confidence and power. Lead by vocalist Phil Bozeman, Whitechapel has three guitarists on board who exchange highly powerful technical guitar parts in order to match the groove of the speedy double bass drumming and skull popping bass parts.
They recently co-headlined the 2011 Summer Slaughter Tour with The Black Dahilia Murder, and proved why in just five years they are a force to be reckoned with in the Heavy Music world! We had the chance to interview screamer Phil Bozeman about the cycle of madness that the band has been part of since they got signed by Metal Blade Records in October of 2007, and how life on the road became second nature for them after playing a handful of International Music festivals in which they managed to gain plenty of fans! Here is the interview, which also features live video and images of the band destroying New York City's Irving Plaza!

- Ben Savage
- Gabe Crisp
- Phil Bozeman

Special thanks to Steve Lars, Paul Sosa, Metal Blade Records, all the bands, all the fans, the Irving Plaza staff, and of course the Summer Slaughter Tour Staff for organizing this killer event year after year.
As we all know, Machine Head are currently putting the final touches to their seventh studio album titled "Unto The Locust" (set to be released on September 20th via Roadrunner Records). Judging from their first single "Locust", the record touches on darker themes and Robb Flynn has declared it to be his most personal record to date. At current time Flynn is flying back and forth between Oakland, California (where the record is being mixed) and the 2011 Rockstar Mayhem Festival! We had the chance to catch up with lead guitarist Phil Demmel and drummer Dave McClain, to discuss with them the new album and how they keep themselves focused while living on the road. This interview is not to be missed! Headbang motherfukkas!
"It is a different record then 'The Blackening', but we feel like we stepped our game up again." - Phil Demmel
"We are super proud of this record. In the last three albums, including this one, we've had complete musical freedom to do what we want to do. It is the first time we have the same lineup for more than two records. We feel that as much as we love 'The Blackening', we feel really proud of this one and are certain that people will feel the same way about this record as they did with 'Through the Ashes of Empires' and 'The Blackening". - Dave McClain

This past weekend we had the privilege of seeing Hate Eternal perform live and loud at Santos Party House, alongside Origin, Vital Remains and Abysmal Dawn! Prior to the show we interviewed Erik Rutan about his extensive career as a Death Metal musician and as a Heavy Music producer. While we had always heard great things about Rutan, it was refreshing to find out that he is one of the most humble and professional Death Metal musicians out there. During the interview we discussed Hate Eternal's newest album "Phoenix Amongst the Ashes", as well as his work with other bands like Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Agnostic Front and Madball, just to name a few.
During the conversation we also discussed how Rutan was transplanted from New Jersey into Florida, in order to establish himself as a big player within the Death Metal scene. Buckle up and enjoy this exclusive interview which features live footage of Hate Eternal as well as some bad-ass pictures! ENJOY! \m/
Ever since the mighty Unearth surfaced in the Heavy Music scene in 1998, they have kept delivering their global audience passionate music full of crushing riffs, and with highly energetic elements of chaos. With their fifth studio album titled "Darkness In the Light" (to be released July 5th in North America via Metal Blade Records), Unearth has proven once again that they sonically have what it takes to keep flying the Heavy Music flag up high with pride and plenty of adrenaline.
Produced by Adam Dutkiewicz from Killswitch Engage and Times of Grace, who has produced their previous three records, and co-produced by guitarist Ken Susi. "Darkness In the Light" possesses Unearth's signature sound and at first glimpse what stands out the most are the vocals that Trevor Phipps laid down on tape. He sounds better than ever. This is what he had to say about the production of the record:
"We started writing last summer between tours. Buz and Ken write the riffs, then they bring them to practice and all approve or disapprove. We started writing the record with Derek Kerswill, we figured that it wasn't working out since he was looking for something more Rock N Roll friendly, and this band is looking to go even heavier than the last album. More extreme!"
Unearth is considered one of the pioneers of Nu-Metal along with Shadow's Fall and Killswitch Engage, and the three of them together helped to establish the Massachusetts Heavy Music scene! Today they are ready to unleash their beastly new album, and to hit the road. Unearth will be part of these years Rockstar Mayhem Festival, and then they will be heading to Europe. Since Unearth's former drummer Derek Kerswill left the band before the recording of the new album, the band will be joined by drummer Justin Foley from Killswitch Engage, who also recorded the drums on "Darkness In the Light". Here is what Foley had to say about this:
“I’m really looking forward to playing with some old friends, and spending a summer full of beers and breakdowns!"
