BEHEMOTH Announce NEW Album Title!

Polish extreme Metallers BEHEMOTH, who have been holed up in Hertz Studios working on their tenth full-length album, are pleased to announce the title of their forthcoming full-length album—'THE SATANIST'. The album will come out in the fall of 2013 via Metal Blade Records.

"It took us over two decades to come up with a title that…says it all. While our NEW songs artistically take surprisingly adventurous directions, our message stands steadfast—Proud and Radical. 'THE SATANIST' stands for undying yearning for liberation and love for freedom in all aspects of life. Considering all our life experiences that often took dramatic curves I couldn't think of more appropriate and fitting statement of who and where we are now” comments BEHEMOTH front man Nergal.

BEHEMOTH Release Studio Update & Announce Mayhem Fest Off Dates!

Polish Extreme Metallers BEHEMOTH are currently locked up at Hertz studio in Bialystok, Poland laying down some dangerous tracks for their 10th studio album. The NEW BEHEMOTH record is scheduled to be released later this year 2013 via Nuclear Blast in Europe and Metal Blade Records in North America.

While we wait patiently for NEW music to be completed, Nergal has offered the following update: "Every piece of art is born in pain… and so is ours. We've spent last couple of months on pre-production and tracking down the songs in Hertz studio. We are producing the album collectively with help of Wieslawscy brothers and Daniel Bergstrand. We are driven by a mystery… exploring territories that have been unknown to us up until now. It feels exciting and very refreshing to redefine our style and yet make a strong fuckin' statement. Wait and hear…"

Update On BEHEMOTH's Adam "Nergal" Darski Legal Trial!

Last fall, Reuters reported that Poland's Supreme Court ruled that BEHEMOTH's Adam "Nergal" Darski, committed a crime when when he called the Catholic Church "the most murderous cult on the planet" during a concert that took place in September 2007 in Gdynia and tore up a copy of the Bible, calling it "a book of lies." It was then announced that a lower court would decide if Darski is guilty of the crime. If convicted, Darski could spend two years in jail!

Following the first trial that took place yesterday (January 8), according to Polskie Radio, Darski faces a second trial because of the ridiculous charge mentioned above. A district court in Gdansk overruled an earlier judgment that Darski was expressing artistic freedom during the concert.

Video footage of today's ruling can be seen below (courtesy of Blabbermouth.net).

The European Commission last fall said that Poland's prosecution of Darski for "blasphemy" is against European values.

"[The decision] is negative and restricts the freedom of speech. The court decided that this is allowed in a democratic system," Jacek Potulski, a lawyer for Darski, told Reuters. "We are still arguing that we were dealing with art, which allows more critical and radical statements."

Back in August 2011, a Polish judge ruled that Darski's ripping up of a Bible during a show was a form of artistic expression consistent with the style of his band. Judge Krzysztof Wieckowski said he considered Darski's actions "a form of art." He added that the court had no intention of limiting freedom of expression or the right to criticize religion.

Ryszard Nowak, chairman of the privately run Nationwide Defence Committee Against Sects, told Polish television about today's court ruling, "The Supreme Court said clearly that there are limits for artists which cannot be crossed."

The court said audience members who testified said their religious feelings had not been hurt despite the fact they were Christians.

Video footage of today's court ruling:

BEHEMOTH To Be Part Of The 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest?

Oh yes! According to BEHEMOTH's bassist Orion (Tomasz Wróblewski), the band will be part of the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival right before they release their upcoming NEW studio album.

Here is what he said about this, during a recent interview with the D.T. Metal of Metal Storm:

"I am pretty sure I can talk about that; I don't think it is confirmed yet, but we are coming back to the States this summer to play on the Rockstar [Energy Drink] Mayhem Festival. This will be the very first thing we will do before the new record comes out. After that, we plan on doing some other festivals, but they are not confirmed yet either. We have done quite a few European festivals this year (2012) and I am not sure if it would be the best thing to do before the album comes out."

Read the entire interview from HERE.

Our good friend Metal Mark from Skull N' Bones,  recently spoke with "Nergal" while on board Barge To Hell — the world's most extreme Metal cruise — which sailed Monday, December 3, 2012 from Miami, Florida to Nassau, Bahamas and returned to the real world on Friday, December 7. Here is what "Nergal" had to say about the bands NEW record:

"We're in writing mode, and we're doing this [cruise] more or less as a vacation, js tto get us out of the writing [environment]. But even yesterday, before the show, I was fucking around with my guitar and jamming out and shit. I came up with… I really think this riff is gonna end up on the record; it's gonna make its way to the record. So I'm really thinking about my record. I'm dreaming my record, I'm eating my record, I'm shitting my record… I mean, everything just comes to the same thing: this artistic release that's gonna take place in the fall next year. That's the plan. We already made a rough plan. We should be entering the studio in late February. We're demoing stuff now. It's actually a rehearsal studio. So this is a thing we've never done before: we get into the studio, we set up the equipment, and we just play. And we record stuff. So it's very creative. It's new and it's different energy, too. I mean, we still use our rehearsal room, but it's good to change the environment. And then in January and February, we decided to move to Warsaw to work on the record. It should be very stimulating; this change of rooms and change of cities, it can be very stimulating. But we've got plenty of stuff written already; I'm guessing 30 or 40 minutes of music is done. But I keep on writing. I'm so hyped and I'm so into delivering new stuff. I have this thought: every time I come up with a new theme or a new song idea, I think it's actually better than the one before. So I hope that this process stops at a certain point and I'm, like, 'OK, over. This is it. We're working on this bunch of songs and that's it.' Because this way I can go on forever."

BEHEMOTH: Ross Robinson Not Confirmed Yet For Production Of 10th Studio Album!

Last week, it was reported that Poland's finest Heavy Metal export BEHEMOTH had lined up multifaceted producer Ross Robinson to work on the bands 10th studio album. While both the band and Robinson have been hinting that they might be working together, Robinson has dismantled the rumor via his Twitter account (see below).

In our humble opinion, if there is a man that can take BEHEMOTH to the next level when it comes to the sonic assault that they are famous for, that man is Ross Robinson. In times in which music production has become too perfect, no matter what Heavy Music sub-genre you look at, there is a need for a producer that is not afraid to try NEW things. A producer who won't be scared to revolutionize our music once again by using unorthodox and imperfect methods of productions. And who better than BEHEMOTH to grab the Heavy Music monster by the horns and take it to the next level?

But what ignited this rumor? Well, BEHEMOTH's Nergal recently shared this photo of himself and band bassist/vocalist Orion meeting with Robinson. Then there was a serious of Tweets from Robinson that made it sound like his collaboration with BEHEMOTH was confirmed.  See HERE!

BEHEMOTH Working With Producer Ross Robinson: A Match Made In Heaven Or Hell?

It has been reported that Poland's finest Heavy Metal export BEHEMOTH have lined up multifaceted producer Ross Robinson to work on the bands 10th studio album. While we can't fully confirm this piece of news yet, both the band and Robinson have been hinting that they will indeed be working together (see below).

While some of you may think this is a match made in hell, since Robinson is the man to blame for the NuMetal movement, and you fear that Robinson will make BEHEMOTH sound too commercial. We think it is a heavenly move from the BEHEMOTH camp to line up Robinson as their producer. It is also very exciting! And while you may think that Robinson got "lost" after being one of the top Heavy Music producers in the 90s, he has been constantly working on many types of musical projects within various realms. But what can he bring out of BEHEMOTH?

In our humble opinion, if there is a man that can take BEHEMOTH to the next level when it comes to the sonic assault that they are famous for, that man is Ross Robinson. In times in which music production has become too perfect, no matter what Heavy Music sub-genre you look at, there is a need for a producer that is not afraid to try NEW things. And who better than BEHEMOTH to grab the Heavy Music monster by the horns and take it to the next level?

But what ignited this rumor? Well, BEHEMOTH's Nergal recently shared this photo of himself and band bassist/vocalist Orion meeting with Robinson.

Meanwhile, Robinson Tweeted this on November 30th:

“2013 is becoming the most ripping metal year of my life- thrash/black/death/postHC lined up- #nobubblebathmusic!”

Other recent tweets seemingly related to the potential pairing include:

“Leaving Warsaw. Exploring the depth of fire and its vulnerability.”

“”Semantic punk” & “Behemoth” Warsaw’s perfect answer to getting it the fk on.. High level dudes “
