ARCH ENEMY Forced To Cancel Upcoming European Festival Appearances - Statement Available!
ARCH ENEMY have announced that they won't be able to participate in any of the European Festivals that they were scheduled to be part of this summer. Here is a collective statement from the band explaining their decision:
"It is with great disappointment that we have to cancel our shows at European festivals this summer. The reason for this being private family matters that demand our full attention, making it difficult to fulfill our commitments in that time frame. We are currently looking into the possibility of rescheduling these festival slots for next year.
"We would like to thank the festival promoters, and, of course, the fans for their understanding and continued support. We will use this downtime to finish up the work on our upcoming DVD/Blu-ray and continue with the songwriting process of the next ARCH ENEMY album. We look forward to seeing you all in 2014! Metal on!"

ARCH ENEMY's Chaotic Concert In Peru Loses Electrical Power, But The Show Must Go On!
South and Latin America are quickly becoming one of the most powerful markets in the world when it comes to Heavy Music! ARCH ENEMY is currently spreading their destructive furious Heavy Metal to 1000s of hungry Latinos. Last night (October 29), they performed at the Centro De Convenciones Scencia De La Molina, in Lima, Peru. Here is what the band had to say about a very chaotic, yet awesome show!
"Lima, Peru was INSANE!!! Total punk rock show, power went out, amps went down, LED video screens died early in the set.. It all went wrong and yet it was the perfect show. We had so much fun! Thank you for the bottle of Pisco appearing out of nowhere onto stage during one of the power cuts.. haha. Genius! We emptied that bottle of course.
"We are off to Costa Rica, we just heard more than 2.000 tickets are sold.. This show is going to be crazy!"
Due to popular demand, ARCH ENEMY have added a second show in Mexico City. They have also announced that they will be performing their epic album 'Wages Of Sin' in its entirety.

ARCH ENEMY Announce Temporary Hiatus - Statement From Angela Gossow Available!
ARCH ENEMY's badass vocalist Angela Gossow has issued the following update regarding the bands decision to take a temporary hiatus:
"[The ARCH ENEMY] European tour was awesome!! Lots of people came to the shows. [We are] very, very grateful for this, given the tough economy all around.
"We know how it feels to be broke. Been there many times. But just like you, we rather spend our last penny on music (or gear for that matter) than paying our phone bill. For that matter, I only have a prepaid card and no phone contract ;-) I hate bills and reminders.
"Back home now, recovering from dirty backstage rooms, cold showers and lack of quality sleep.
"I love playing live. [It's] a shame I can't bring my home (or at least my bed and my clean bathroom) on tour though, haha..
"After 12 years of continuous touring, I can tell ya, sometimes I think about stopping for good and route for the homely life instead.
"We got the Latin America tour kicking off in November all the way through December and then we'll stop touring for at least six months. We'll just do a few [European] festivals in the summer, like Wacken :-). Will be interesting how that feels. If I get bored with being 'static?'
"I'll miss playing shows, but I am also excited to finally have some time to myself, actually being able to take up an art class, start drawing again, take some vocal lessons for fun, try new sports (like thai boxing or any sort of angry martial arts, haha), spend quality time with my family, decorate my home with framed pictures, paint the walls.. you know, that stuff 'normal' people do when they are not living like gypsies, always on the move.
"It will be nice not having to do pre-production for a tour in my 'off time' but actually allow my mind to rest and stop worrying about travel arrangements, technical riders, ticket sales, budgets, crew, stage production etc.
"I have noticed I am in an constant 'alarm-state' mentally and I don't relax in my sleep either anymore. I dream about figures and band stuff every night.
"I miss my crazy, funny, light dreams.. and simply being worry-free.
"This said, I wont be lazy. We have a massive new live DVD/Blu-ray in the works and it will take up a real chunk of my time to get that together for an autumn 2013 release. We filmed so many shows.. And we will film even more now during the Latin America tour. We got a ton of incidental footage too.. That will be weeks and weeks of sorting out, editing, cutting, mix and master. Plus we got a new album to write and record in 2013 too. It will drop in spring-ish 2014.
"So yeah.. today I am catching up with three weeks of unanswered postal mail, final tour budget, tax office paperwork and shopping for groceries. I will go for a walk later, take a long bath to soak my sore back and neck and try to go to bed before 6 a.m. as I am not on tour anymore ;-)"
ARCH ENEMY Latin American Tour:
- 21/11/12: Teatro Caupolican, Santiago in Chile
- 23/11/12: Teatro Flores, Buenos Aires in Argentina
- 25/11/12: Carioca Club, Sao Paulo in Brazil
- 27/11/12: Club Platense, Montevideo in Uruguay

A Must See: ARCH ENEMY Premiere Music Video For "Cruelty Without Beauty"!"
ARCH ENEMY’s ‘Khaos Legions’ campaign gathers more steam as the band announce a NEW video for the song "Cruelty Without Beauty" from the bands latest album ‘Khaos Legions’. Vocalist badass Angela Gossow of the Sweden based melodic Death Metal quintet comments, “I’m very pleased we got this video done for one of my favorite songs off the ‘Khaos Legions’ album. The video is quite raw and extreme as it reflects the lyrics very well I believe, dealing with a subject matter close to my heart – animal cruelty and vivisection.”
Angela adds, “We want to thank the good folks at Peta2, Hardforce, Metalitalia and The Metal Circus for supporting a serious subject. All of us have been well aware that a video like this doesn’t find everybody’s acceptance. But Rock music was always more than guitar riffs – it’s also the voice of the voiceless.”
Without further due, here is the premiere of ARCH ENEMY's music video for "Cruelty Without Beauty":
This autumn will be see the band trail blaze across European soil with 4 shows in Spain with special support from extreme Metal legends Voivod. The year will close with a South America tour ending in Mexico City (where despite the Mayan Calendar the world doesn’t end).

ARCH ENEMY Premieres Music Video For “Under Black Flags We March” - Watch It!
Before the Swedish Metal powerhouse went to Asia and Australia to present their latest album 'Khaos Legions' on their ongoing world tour, they found time to finish the third video for the album, "Under Black Flags We March". The video was once again produced by the Swedish director Patric Ullaeus (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, etc.), and is the first video to feature the NEW guitarist Nick Cordle (from the US band ARSIS) who replaced Chris Amott earlier this year.
The video for "Under Black Flags We March" can be viewed below (courtesy of Metal Hammer German).
ARCH ENEMY singer Angela Gossow will host the annual Metal Hammer Germany Awards that takes place in Berlin on September 14th, 2012. ARCH ENEMY is nominated in the "Best Band" category and Michael Amott is also nominated as "God Of Riffs". Click here to vote now!
Michael Amott (guitar) comments on the video: "It was a pleasure as always to work with our friend Patric Ullaeus on this video, which will be the fourth clip he's made for us and he really is a consummate professional-- truly excellent stuff! He's captured a very suitable and cool vibe on this one too. The track itself, 'Under Black Flags We March', is a song that we've played at every ARCH ENEMY show since we released the 'Khaos Legions' album last year, we love playing it as it's a change of pace in our frantic live set and it's going down really well with audiences worldwide too. We felt this pounding metal anthem deserved a visual companion, so here it is! A couple of things to listen out for: we had a our new guitarist Nick Cordle throw down a little lick on the song and had audio master Andy Sneap remix the song a little...So, a few minor tweaks here and there to make it something special for this visual/sonic assault! Under Black Flags We March!"
ARCH ENEMY will continue to spread the Khaos at the following shows and festivals:
26.04.2012 - Diablo Open Air 2012 - Singapore
28.04.2012 - Pulp Summer Slam 12: The Apostles - Manila, Philippines
