Recently, the tri-state area Headbangers joined forces at New York City's legendary venue Irving Plaza (formerly The Fillmore) for the 2012 Summer Slaughter Tour. This years event is co-headlined by the mighty CANNIBAL CORPSE and Progressive Metallers BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME. Two bands that have a very different sound, but that have managed to open the minds of each others fans by penetrating ear drums like very few bands out there. The 2012 SUMMER SLAUGHTER tour truly represents what the state of Heavy Music is today: many different types of fans coming together to jam out to their favorite bands while learning about new bands and tendencies.
Following GOATWHORE's stellar set, in which they performed a bunch of NEW songs from their latest album 'Blood For The Master' (available now via Metal Blade Records), we had the chance to chat with GOATWHORE's frontman Ben Falgoust about the 2012 SUMMER SLAUGHTER tour, life on the road and he even shares some laundry tips with his fans! Check out the worldwide premiere of the new music video for "When Steel and Bone Meet", shot with David Brodsky of My Good Eye at the infamous house of horrors, the House of Shock in New Orleans, LA. Be sure to catch the New Orleans, LA natives when they hit the road this summer as a part of the Summer Slaughter tour with label-mates Cannibal Corpse, which goes down after they finish up their European run with 3 Inches of Blood.
GOATWHORE debuted on Billboard Magazine's Top 200 Current Albums chart coming in at #171 with their latest release 'Blood for the Master', which sold over 3,100 copies in its first week. Blood for the Master, which just hit streets on February 14, also debuted on the following Billboard charts: #4 on the Heatseeker (New Artist) chart, #12 on the Current Hard Music chart, #21 on the Hard Music Chart (overall**), and #31 on Top Independent Albums chart and hit iTunes Rock chart at #19*. Blood for the Master also hit charts in Canada coming in at #142 on the Top 200 Current Albums chart, #18 on the Hard Chart, #1 on iTunes Metal*, #17 iTunes Rock*, and #152 iTunes Top 200*. New Orleans, LA natives, GOATWHORE, are continuing their worldwide campaign in support of their ass kicking latest effort, 'Blood for the Master', this May with a tour across Europe. They'll be joining forces with 3 Inches of Blood, Angelus Apatrida and Havok. The tour begins in May and all dates can be seen below.
In other news, the second studio video for GOATWHORE's recording sessions at Mana Recording studios with Erik Rutan has been made available. The video can be seen below and includes some guitar and bass tracking, as well as some of the gear used to record the album.
