CARCASS Announce NEW Label Home; Band To Be Part Of One Of The Metal Cruises!

As previously reported, CARCASS's next sonic assault 'Surgical Steel' has already been recorded and is currently being mixed by Andy Sneap, not Colin Richardson (who quit the project). This will be the bands first studio album in 17 years. This highly anticipated release will see the light of day later this year via Nuclear Blast Records.

The band has been confirmed for next years 70000 Tons Of Metal, which is scheduled to take place in January of 2014!

Here is the bands official statement regarding their NEW deal with NB:

"We are pleased to announce that we have found the perfect home for 'Surgical Steel', the first Carcass album for, what, eighteen years?! We've inked a deal with Nuclear Blast for our new baby.

"We have to thank Markus Staiger for his enthusiasm and belief in what he heard, but mostly his ability to take advantage of Jeff with a bad hangover when he visited the office in Stuttgart to let him be the first to hear the rough mixes. Nuclear Blast has managed to secure this release despite interest from all the main players in what remains of the metal ‘music industry.’

"We're also looking forward to working with our pals in the US Office, who have done favors for us behind the scenes over the last few years. On a personal note, Jeff looks forward to his and label manager Gerardo Martinez' friendship to come crashing down in flames and tears in a few months.

"As long as we don't mention ‘The War’ we think we're going to do just fine with our new Teutonic home!"

Here are the songs that the band recorded for 'Surgical Steel':

* The Master Butcher’s Apron
* The Granulating Dark Satanic Mills
* A Congealed Clot Of Blood
* A Wraith In The Apparatus
* 316l Grade Surgical Steel
* Cadaver Pouch Conveyor System
* Captive Bolt Pistol
* Intensive Battery Brooding
* None Compliance To Astm F899-12 Standard
* Mount Of Execution
* 1985/Thrasher’s Abattoir
* Unfit For Human Consumption
* Zochrot
* Livestock Marketplace

CARCASS Offer Fans A NEW Album Update For 'Surgical Steel'!

Recently CARCASS announced that their next sonic assault will be called 'Surgical Steel' and
should see the light of day later this year via an as-yet-undetermined record label. 'Surgical Steel' will be the bands first studio album in 17 years.

The band has announced that Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ACCEPT, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY) will mix their highly anticipated comeback album, after Colin Richardson (FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD, NAPALM DEATH, SLIPKNOT, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE) quit the project two weeks into the mixing process because he was "burned out".

CARCASS bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker had this to say about Richardson's decision to quit mixing 'Surgical Steel': "He quit yesterday. He was two weeks into mixing the album and he decided that he didn't want to continue. So Andy Sneap is taking over. [Colin's] produced the album. It's just that he's hit a brick wall with the mix and doesn't want to continue. And so we're bringing in Andy Sneap to do the mix now. It's a shame, but we finished recording the album three months ago. There are a lot of reasons for it, but the main reason is that he says he is burnt out. I guess it will be a positive thing to bring in some fresh ears."

The band’s first studio outing since 1996′s 'Swansong' will be the first to feature NEW drummer Dan Wilding (ABORTED, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED) and also features guest vocals from original sticksman Ken Owen.

Here are the songs that the band record:

* The Master Butcher’s Apron
* The Granulating Dark Satanic Mills
* A Congealed Clot Of Blood
* A Wraith In The Apparatus
* 316l Grade Surgical Steel
* Cadaver Pouch Conveyor System
* Captive Bolt Pistol
* Intensive Battery Brooding
* None Compliance To Astm F899-12 Standard
* Mount Of Execution
* 1985/Thrasher’s Abattoir
* Unfit For Human Consumption
* Zochrot
* Livestock Marketplace

Guitarist Michael Amott and drummer Daniel Erlandsson, who have been touring with CARCASS since the band’s reunion was announced in 2007, are no longer involved with the group due to scheduling conflicts with their main band, ARCH ENEMY. “For live, we’ll obviously add another guitarist — we have someone in mind but we are not interested in a ‘name’ player,” Walker told Decibel magazine in December.

CARCASS Reveal NEW Album Title & Song Names!

Last year, CARCASS announced that are reuniting and bringing the Heavy Music world a NEW batch of music. The bands next sonic assault will be called 'Surgical Steel' and it will be the bands first studio album in 17 years. This highly anticipated release will see the light of day later this year via an as-yet-undetermined record label.

The band’s first studio outing since 1996′s 'Swansong' will be the first to feature NEW drummer Dan Wilding (ABORTED, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED) and also features guest vocals from original sticksman Ken Owen. The CD was produced by Colin Richardson (FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD, NAPALM DEATH, SLIPKNOT and BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE).

The bands guitarist Bill Steer told U.K.’s Terrorizer magazine: “I found myself playing riffs that sounded like CARCASS. This was after the band had finished the whole reunion cycle of shows and festivals. So, officially, I would have been playing with other bands and stuff, but for some reason whenever I picked up a guitar at home I was coming up with riffs that sounded like CARCASS. I got on the phone to Jeff [Walker, bass/vocals] and said, ‘We could have a crack at writing a couple of tunes and seeing if they’re strong enough and take it from there.’ We also agreed if it didn’t sound like carcass or have that kind of vibe to it, we would just drop it. So that was the thing, we got together and started working on some stuff and just immediately got the excitement back very quickly.

“It definitely sounds like CARCASS. I think we just generally by accident captured the flavor of past music that we have done and you can’t help but push it forward. We have really been creative and when you are looking at things like guitar harmonies, it’s way more adventurous on this record. It’s not just parallel harmony like we did in the past, things branch off in different directions.

“A lot of what is happening now is based on rhythms rather than actual riffs. We were discussing this a lot during record sessions about how the riff is almost dying or dead already. People spend a lot of time chugging on the bottom string [but] that’s a rhythm, it’s not a riff. We can’t write a song, never mind an album, without it being choc-full of riffs.”

To this Jeff Walker added: “I’d like to feel like we are giving CARCASS fans what they want again. I’m a realist and I think Bill has realized and Dan know what people like about CARCASS. We’re definitely delivering.”

Here are the songs that the band record:

* The Master Butcher’s Apron
* The Granulating Dark Satanic Mills
* A Congealed Clot Of Blood
* A Wraith In The Apparatus
* 316l Grade Surgical Steel
* Cadaver Pouch Conveyor System
* Captive Bolt Pistol
* Intensive Battery Brooding
* None Compliance To Astm F899-12 Standard
* Mount Of Execution
* 1985/Thrasher’s Abattoir
* Unfit For Human Consumption
* Zochrot
* Livestock Marketplace

CARCASS Announce NEW Album!

Great news! British Metal maniacs CARCASS have announced that they are working on a NEW album! In an exclusive interview with Decibel Magazine, Jeff Walker (frontman and bassist) confirmed that CARCASS is in the studio working on NEW music. The last time the band released an album was in 1996, which is when 'Swansong' was released.

The CARCASS camp have announced that As for vocals, guitarist Bill Steer will bring a Necroticism style of and Walker promises more range on his vocals.They have also announced that Daniel Wilding will be the bands drummer this time around. In recent memory, Wilding has performed with Behemoth and Kataklysm, and is currently the drummer for Trigger The Bloodshed. Walker is hoping that founding drummer Ken Owen will make an appearance on the album as well.

It has also been confirmed that guitar icon Michael Amott will not be part of this generation of CARCASS, due to his busy agenda with ARCH ENEMY and SPIRITUAL BEGGARS.

Here is what Walker had to say about the bands NEW batch of music:

“Good timing, eh? Twenty-five years we first recorded Reek of Putrefaction. The incentive was off Bill. I’d verbally expressed an interest in doing something but I needed Bill to have the desire and hunger again and that’s exactly what has happened. He recalled watching Dan Wilding play on tour with us in 2008 and something about him struck a chord and he wanted to work with him. There was something about him that kind of reminded him of Ken, on a personal level as much as his playing. We’ve done this recording firstly for ourselves—there’s no label backing even as you read this—in fact me and Bill have spent a small fortune out of our pocket to see this through—it’s more of an artistic/personal statement than anything.”
