In addition, the band will appear on this year’s Hopscotch Music Fest. The three-day event is set to take place on September 6 – 8, 2012 on their home turf of Raleigh. Released Stateside this past March Corrosion Of Conformity was recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles, produced by the band in cooperation with long-time collaborator John Custer and mixed by John Lousteau (Foo Fighters). THE DEVIL's BLOOD Declare War On Bus Driver Who Ditched Them - Official Statement Available!

"The Devil's Blood hereby declare never-ending and total war upon the following individual; David "Ape" Zoglio.

"This piece of shit who was supposed to have been our driver on the US tour ran off with our money after the San Antonio Ritual last night. After being told what to do for the 1000th time and still having no clue how to ride a bus, this "Ape", as he calls himself, unable to deal with the criticism any longer ran off into down-town San Antonio and left us stranded on an intersection forcing our Tour Manager to take over the wheel. This little rat scurried off so fast that attempts to find, catch and kill it were immediately unsuccessful.

"We put this info out now so that each and every one of our contacts, friends, fans and even enemies might learn his name, spread it around and make sure that this sorry excuse for a man never ever does business with anyone ever again. We have added here his personal info and a scan of his driver's license. Feel free to repost, share, forward and catalogue for future reference. Also if anyone feels the need to vent any frustration or anger, his phone and email are noted as well...

"As for you, David, you little cunt; rest assured that one day we will meet again. A curse upon your house until the day comes that my blade is on your throat."

THE DEVIL'S BLOOD Are Packed & Ready To Get On The Decibel Magazine Tour- Statement Available!

Dutch occult rockers THE DEVIL’S BLOOD are gearing up for a near month-long run of North American dates on the forthcoming Decibel Magazine Tour alongside Behemoth, Watain and In Solitude. The band will be touring in support of 'The Thousandfold Epicentre', released earlier this year via Metal Blade Records.

Comments founder and band leader SL: “THE DEVIL'S BLOOD are proud and extremely eager to travel the New World alongside some of the world’s most dedicated Metal bands. Dedicated not to some pathetic notion of ‘scene’ or ‘unity’ but to a clear, totally individual, spiritual path that although not understood by most is perhaps the most valid and urgent one available for wandering feet to travel in the twilight of the Iron Age. We share many opinions and disagree on many more, yet our offerings all speak of that great mystery which we all aspire to with passion and fury. Praise be to all those who accompany us on this particular path.”

In related news, the cover of the May 2012 issue of Decibel Magazine is devoted to the tour and offers up in-depth coverage on all four bands. For ordering info, go to THIS LOCATION.
THE DEVIL'S BLOOD is a dedication to principles and principals more ancient than Time, a branch of a tree greater than the World, an exclamation of both the profound and the profane. THE DEVIL'S BLOOD has always been one of the many vessels through which the Light of the Devil shines upon the darkness of the world and shall always be the possible entrance to a path walked alone. But only for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. This path starts not in understanding but in confusion.

C.O.C. Announce North American Tour Dates With Torche, Black Cobra & Gaza!

Currently out terrorizing stages on their headlining tour with Torche, Valient Thorr and A Storm Of Light, Raleigh, North Carolina cross-over legends CORROSION OF CONFORMITY today announce another round of live dates this June which will take them to the West Coast and Canada. Sponsored by Thrasher Magazine, the trek will steam-roll its way through 17 cities beginning June 1 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The band will be joined by Torche, Black Cobra and Gaza. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 9 at all major ticket outlets.

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY’s released their self-titled NEW studio offering to the masses last week via Candlelight Records. Corrosion Of Conformity was recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles, produced by the band in cooperation with long-time collaborator John Custer and mixed by John Lousteau (Foo Fighters). The 11-track offering features the esteemed Animosity lineup of vocalist/bassist Mike Dean, guitarist Woody Weatherman, and drummer/vocalist Reed Mullin and closes a six year recording gap for the band. Hailed among fans and critics alike, Decibel Magazine championed the band’s efforts noting: “While mastery isn’t unusual in Metal, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY is fully baked enough to make us wish another 29 years on these fuckers,” while Stereokiller, in a 4/5 rating, noted: “The crew of Mike Dean, Woody Weatherman and Reed Mullin reconvene as a sturdy marriage of St. Vitus, Black Sabbath and Motörhead retrofitting the tried-and-true rock wisdom they’ve always applied to their sound.” Independent Weekly opined: “…as CORROSION OF CONFORMITY draws from the past, it refuses to replicate it here. These tracks are too mid-paced and riff-dominated to be Punk, too gruff and volatile for the bluesy hard-rock of the band’s latter days. And yes, there’s no Keenan, giving Dean’s higher register the chance to replace the departed vocalist’s smooth confidence with welcome tension—more Ozzy than Dio, in other words,” while Pitchfork echoed the sentiment: “Corrosion Of Conformity is what you want out of a comeback record: not just reclamation of lost vigor but a meaningful update on a vintage sound. If Animosity seemed like an ugly duckling back in the mid 1980s — too Punk for the Metal crowd and vice versa– Corrosion Of Conformity registers similarly today. In an era when doom metal keeps growing bleaker and artier, and hardcore skews ever more dire, the album serves as a reminder that swagger, soul, and songcraft still have a place in the heavy-rock underground. CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, indeed.”

In related news, the band recently unveiled their video for “The Moneychangers” via Headbangers Ball last week. The clip was filmed in Raleigh by Charles Cardello and features the band in a storyline that brings the song’s lyrics out visually (even Jesus makes an appearance).

Corrosion Of Conformity Unleash Three NEW Tracks!

Candlelight Records, together with partners Decibel Magazine and Pitchfork Media, are premiering today songs from the forthcoming NEW album from C.O.C. Produced by John Custer, the self-titled album is the first NEW recording from the North Carolina-based band in six years and is the first to feature material written by the esteemed 'Animosity' trio in over a decade.

Available now for listening, Decibel Magazine is streaming “The Doom” while Pitchfork Media is streaming the album’s closer “Time Of Trials.” Each song showcases the band’s unique sound and continued commitment to diversity. Guitarist Woody Weatherman says, “…too much pork for just one fork,” when discussing the unusual two-song launch. “I like the idea of having two tunes premiering at the same time,” he continues. Vocalist/bassist Mike Dean notes, “I slipped in a rough form of ‘The Doom’ on Full Metal Jackie's radio program back in early November. This is now the official premiere in its finished form. And with Pitchfork playing ‘Time Of Trials,’ we are excited and await fan reactions."

England’s Metal Hammer, in celebration of today’s premieres, launched a special C.O.C. video via their online television channel that includes both songs and a pictorial of the band with information about the forthcoming album. Check it out now!

C.O.C. has already launched exclusive, pre-order bundles that include limited band-direct items plus the deluxe digipak version of the record (featuring extended packaging and two additional songs) and the American vinyl pressing. To celebrate today’s premieres, Candlelight has launched via the official label webstore each of the four planned formats for the record plus a webstore exclusive. See the link below.

The band will perform next at The Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina before heading out on their recently announced headline tour beginning March 1. The band plans a set that will include many of the new album’s choice cuts as well selections from their earlier albums. “‘Your Tomorrow,’ ‘Rat City,’ and ‘The Doom’ all got great response while we were out with Clutch for a brief wintery outing,” says Dean. “The new songs are noggin’ nodders and seemed to fit in very well with our older classics,” adds Weatherman. “Folks were having a good time which is what it is all about,” he confirms.

Corrosion Of Conformity will be released via Candlelight Records on February 14 in North America; a day earlier for Europe. Confirmed dates on the band’s upcoming North American tour with Torche, Valient Thorr, A Storm Of Light are below.

The Devil's Blood Unleash 'Everlasting Saturnalia' Teaser Video!

Next up in The Devil's Blood 'The Thousandfold Epicentre' teaser series is "Everlasting Saturnalia," track nine from the Dutch collective's forthcoming new long player. Check out the video below.

'The Thousandfold Epicentre' continues to reap critical accolades from critics nationally and abroad for its hauntingly infectious odes of psychedelic unholiness. L.A. Weekly notes: “... The Devil's Blood bring to mind what Jefferson Airplane’s sound would have been if they abandoned their love of psychedelic drugs for good old-fashioned Satanism." Adds Noisecreep: "On their sophomore album, Dutch act The Devil's Blood deliver NWOBHM-kissed riffs and melodic female vocals like it's 1980 all over again," Terrorizer calls The Thousandfold Epicentre "dynamic and luminous," while Blistering boasts in an 8.5/10 rating: "The Devil's Blood are entity onto themselves, and could very well be considered Metal’s most valid Satanic band." Metal Assault crowns the effort "one of the most captivating releases of the year 2012. A superlative effort," in a 9/10 review and Bloody Good Horror opines: "The Thousandfold Epicentre is capable of alluring visions, a veritable siren's song of majesty and grace."

'The Thousandfold Epicentre' is scheduled for North American release on January 17, 2012 via Metal Blade Records.

Dutch occult rockers The Devil's Blood this week offer up a NEW video clip from 'The Thousandfold Epicentre' teaser series. "Die The Death" is the third track from the band's forthcoming full-length. C.O.C. Announce NEW Album Details - Release Date, Artwork & Track Listing Revealed!

Formed in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1982, Corrosion Of Conformity’s Heavy Music hybrid is a fan and critic favorite. Decibel Magazine recently called the Grammy-nominated band’s blending of Metal, Punk, and southern Rock, “a crucial stylistic lynchpin… Corrosion Of Conformity irrevocably reshaped crossover’s sonic possibilities.” AllMusic.com notes, “C.O.C. weren’t following any trends. They just incorporated all the things they liked about Thrash, Punk and ‘70s Metal originators Black Sabbath into their constantly evolving sound. It secured them artistic and commercial credibility.”

Candlelight Records confirms February 28, 2012 as the North American release date for the self-titled NEW album from Corrosion Of Conformity. Recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles, the album was produced by the band in cooperation with long-time collaborator John Custer. It was mixed by John Lousteau (Foo Fighters) and features artwork by Seldon Hunt (Melvins, High On Fire). The album will be available on standard CD, deluxe digipak, and two exclusive vinyl formats.

Featuring the esteemed Animosity line-up of vocalist/bassist Mike Dean, guitarist Woody Weatherman, and drummer/vocalist Reed Mullin, the album’s release closes a six year recording gap and completes over a year of concentrated writing and recording for the band. Reflecting on the past year and the album’s recording process, Mike Dean notes, ”we tracked the songs at Studio 606 then headed for Europe, toured the US, and returned to Europe. We then did some vocals at home in North Carolina but not where we originally planned; the studio was flattened by a system of spring tornadoes. We made our way back to 606 about seven months later and mixed twelve songs in ten days. The whole time we were out there, we were living in the onion fields of Ventura County and had to drive over the Santa Susana Pass to the San Fernando Valley every day. That was some fuel intensive time to reflect. As a whole, the album was an inspired and efficient collaboration. John Custer told me he thought we were all working together as one organism; which is an apt description.”

Corrosion Of Conformity features eleven NEW songs with the deluxe digipak and vinyl formats including two additional songs. Vinyl collectors will want to seek out both formats of the record; the European configuration confirmed as a double 180-gram clear vinyl and the American version featuring a single 180-gram black-and-white splatter vinyl with a limited 7-inch which will include the album’s bonus songs. Both versions will feature a gatefold sleeve.

Dean notes, “We like the idea of pressing this music on vinyl because so much of our inspiration comes from music that precedes the digital era. It’s also cool to have that large format for the artwork and the lyrics and the credits. It’s such a tangible physical product you can hold in your hands. In Europe, the vinyl will include a CD so you can get the files into your digital realm. In the US, a download card is included”

With over 1.1 million albums sold in the United States alone, the new album will be the band’s first since 2005’s 'In The Arms Of God'. The album’s artwork can be seen below.

And along with our new drummer, Henry Vasquez, and label, Season Of Mist, this record has given us a new opportunity to show everyone that we still have more to shove in your face.”

Instrumental Prog-Doom Metallers Zebulon Pike Release 'Unleash Space Is The Corpse Time'!

Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Zebulon Pike is an instrumental Prog-Doom Metal band formed in late 2002. Inspired in equal parts by Heavy sounds of the '70s (Mountain, Pentagram, Captain Beyond, early Judas Priest), Progressive Rock (King Crimson, Rush), and 20th century classical (Bela Bartok, Arvo Part, and many others), Zebulon Pike combine the impact of Metal with the calculated approach of "art" music. The result is a refined, muted aggression necessary for inciting the slow motion apocalypse.

The group's fourth and most ambitious release yet is entitled "Space Is The Corpse Of Time", and it marries uncompromising abstraction with all the pummeling directness of classic Heavy Metal. Released earlier this year but remaining woefully under-the-radar, it's stunning alchemy of the conceptual and the visceral is sure to make an impression on those seeking new vistas in Heavy Music.

Having shared the stage with contemporary genre-mates like Orthrelm, Zombi, Rwake, High on Fire, Don Caballero, Pelican, YOB, Hammers of Misfortune, The Sword, as well as time-tested veterans like The Hidden Hand, Blue Cheer, Boris, Helmet, and The Melvins, Zebulon Pike churn an intriguing mixture of melodic melancholy, old-school guitar-isms, and Wagnerian dynamics that marks a mighty presence in the world of Heavy Music.

Zebulon Pike:

- Tom Berg: Bass
- Morgan Berkus: Guitar
- Erik Bolen: Drums
- Erik Fratzke: Guitar

Corrosion Of Conformity Signs With Candlelight Records + NEW Album Update!

Corrosion Of Conformity was established in 1982 in Raleigh, North Carolina by bassist Mike Dean, guitarist Woody Weatherman and drummer Reed Mullin. Ever since then the band has released 7 studio albums, 3 EP's, and 1 live album. Today, Candlelight Records proudly announced the worldwide signing of Corrosion Of Conformity. Since early this year, the band has been working with long-time producer John Custer. Now nearly complete, their still untitled eighth studio album is planned for release early in the New Year.

Gathering last summer to jam as a trio for the first time in over a decade, the treasured threesome quickly rekindled the magic that originally united and ultimately bound the musicians on a journey that today continues to impress both fans and critics. It is the efforts of this line-up that Decibel Magazine recently called “a crucial stylistic lynchpin in the bridge between Metal and Punk. Corrosion Of Conformity irrevocably reshaped crossover’s sonic possibilities.” AllMusic.com notes, ”C.O.C. weren’t following any trends. They just incorporated all the things they liked about thrash, Punk and ’70s Metal originators Black Sabbath into their constantly evolving sound. It secured them artistic and commercial credibility.”

Candlelight’s Steve Beatty says of the signing, “Animosity is one of my favorite records ever. To have C.O.C. on Candlelight with that line-up is simply mouth-watering. I saw the band in London recently and they did not disappoint. This hungry child can’t wait for the record.” Candlelight’s Edward Christie adds, “we are extremely excited to welcome the band to the label and are looking forward to an amazing album. We are all huge fans and this is truly a memorable day for all of us.”

The band shares the excitement the immediate future holds. Woody Weatherman comments, "writing and recording this new record as a three-piece has been a blast. Having Reed back in the fold with Mike and I brings it around full circle. I'm really looking forward to all that lies ahead this upcoming year."

Reed Mullen adds, “Mike, Woody and I essentially learned how to play music together and cultivated our own style, sound, and unspoken language. Re-bonding with them musically has been the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me.”

In addition to intense work on the album, C.O.C. has kept busy in 2011 touring throughout the US and abroad. One of the main attractions at this year’s Maryland Death Festival, the band mesmerized a salivating capacity audience. Sean Palmerston, editor for Canada’s online magazine Hellbound, said, “I lapped this set up. It was like the tastiest comfort food after a hard day’s work. I haven’t listened to those classic C.O.C. albums in a long, long time. It put a smile on my face.”

Mike Dean says of the new songs, “we have been overdubbing vocals and guitars in between our live dates for the better part of a year. Now it's time to mix. The process we started back in April is finally coming to fruition. The results should reflect all eras of the band's existence filtered through our current reality. This is a beast we can't wait to set free."

Formed in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1982, Corrosion Of Conformity quickly transformed Heavy Music. Politically charged and socially aware, the band has influenced countless others and today remains humble about their accomplishments. With over 1.1 million albums sold in the United States alone, the new album will be their first since 2005’s "In The Arms Of God". On release, Billboard Magazine called the album a “riff-fueled set that ranks with (the band’s) best work.”

C.O.C. will perform with Danzig tonight at the Gibson Ampitheater in Los Angeles. The band’s final performances for 2011 will be alongside Clutch December 27 through 31.

Cathedral - Details for 2CD "Anniversary" live album & Final Studio Album 'The Last Spire'!

Coventry, England hasn't been the same since the rise of the mighty Cathedral in the late 1980's. Through their unique flavor of doom Metal complimented by phenomenal musicianship, the band are considered one of the saviors of the genre. With nine studio albums under their belt, the band hast just announced that they will be releasing a 2 CD "Anniversary" live album and their final studio album entitled "The Last Spire".

The 2 CD "Anniversary" live album will be released on Monday, November 21st in North America, via Metal Blade Records in conjunction with Rise Above Records. The Anniversary captures Cathedral in all their raw and live glory and marks the first official live album to be ever released by the doom Metal legends. Recorded live in London, 2010, Disc 1 features "Forest of Equilibrium" in its entirety, delivered impeccably by the original lineup of Lee Dorrian on vocals, Garry Jennings and Adam Lehan on guitar, Mark Griffiths on bass and Mike Smail on drums. Disc 2 is a greatest hits set courtesy of the long lasting lineup featuring Leo Smee (bass) and Brian Dixon (drums) alongside Dorrian and Jennings.

Vocalist Lee Dorrian comments on the band's first ever live album and the impending final live show: "The release of Anniversary is both exciting and sad for us. Exciting, as it is the first ever official Cathedral live album, recorded at our twentieth anniversary show on Dec 3rd in London last year, where we reunited with our original line up and performed the entirety of or debut album Forest of Equilibrium for the first (and last) time ever. Sad, because December the 3rd this year will be the night we perform our last show ever, before calling it a day as a live band. So more than anything, we would like to dedicate Anniversary to everyone who has followed and supported Cathedral over the years. Your support really means and has meant the world to us! Thanks and stay heavy!

Words by Dom Lawson, August 2011

… and so it ends as it began, with the grim but compelling sound of mankind's most artful and potent response against the dying of the light: the almighty riff… sacred, remorseless, oppressive and sublime… it towers above us like a shadow cast by the collected follies of humanity itself, giving us succor and protecting us from the lure of the grave …

Whether you regard them as the saviors of doom Metal, the rightful heirs to the Sabbathian throne, the masters of the arcane, profane and avowedly eccentric or merely one of the finest British Heavy Metal bands of all time, Cathedral have made an indelible and undeniable mark on the Heavy Music scene over their two decades of sonorous, lethargic service. Led by vocalist Lee Dorrian and his perennial riff-deliverer Gaz Jennings, the band emerged at the dawn of the 90s amid the clattering clangour of an extreme Metal scene that had simply forgotten how to slow down and synchronize with the miserly grind of tectonic plates and the ticking of time. Righteously inspired by Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Trouble, Candlemass, Saint Vitus and many other purveyors of superlative snail's pace riff worship, Cathedral made it their principal aim to resurrect the very concept of doom within the Metal scene, both in terms of the musical sub-genre that bore that name but also with regard to the haunting emotional might that had steadily been drained from the heart of heavy.

After grabbing the attention of many like-minded souls with their early demo recordings, Dorrian and the original line-up of the band released their debut album, the astonishing Forest Of Equilibrium, in December 1991, single-handedly reversing Metal's runaway momentum and dragging it back to its fundamentally slow, soulful and crushing essence. From that moment on, Cathedral became revered guardians of true doom and embarked on a steadily mutating path towards total riff nirvana. Upping the pace for 1993's "The Ethereal Mirror", they embraced evolution with alacrity. By the time 1995's "The Carnival Bizarre" arrived, Dorrian and Jennings had been joined by bassist Leo Smee and drummer Brian Dixon, thus cementing a formation and focus that would serve the band well over the next 15 years. The series of albums that followed veered from the kaleidoscopic psychomania of "Caravan Beyond Redemption" (1998) through to the blistered, necrotizing funeral grind of "Endtyme" (2001) and on to the wild progressive hues of 2010's "The Guessing Game", covering all points in between.

Cathedral's live shows were always celebratory affairs, as the band traversed the globe spreading the bleak gospel and sharing grandiose riffs with generations of lost souls. By the year 2010, it became clear that Cathedral's mission had been effectively accomplished, and Dorrian began the countdown to oblivion. The band played a 20th anniversary show at London's O2 Islington Academy on December 3rd, reconvening that legendary original line-up to perform "Forest Of Equilibrium" for the very first time in its devastating entirety, followed by a bold stride through the rest of that glorious catalog courtesy of that equally classic but more enduring latter-day configuration. Fans and friends traveled from all around this wicked world to witness the event and despite the fact that many British disciples were unable to get to London due to harsh weather conditions and a dismal public transport system, "Cathedral acquitted themselves with humble grace and splendor. Urged on by the news that Cathedral will completely retire from the mortal Metal realm after one more show this coming December, the entire 20th anniversary gig is now to be unleashed as Anniversary, a double-disc extravaganza of crippling, ultra-doom that is as raw and uncompromising as these desolate days demand. Next year will see the release of "The Last Spire", the final chapter in the Cathedral story, but for now Anniversary is doom's last word. And so it ends…
