Grammy® nominated San Diego Metal act, AS I LAY DYING, are proud to announce that Bill Stevenson has been enlisted to produce their next album this May! Bill Stevenson has played drums for both the Descendents and Black Flag and is one of the most highly renowned producers in Rock. His production credits include work on records by Rise Against, NOFX, Propagandhi, The Casualties, Anti-Flag and many more. AS I LAY DYING is recording this spring, with album release expected in the second half of 2012. As always, the band members are very active on twitter and bassist/vocalist Josh Gilbert has been posting images from the studio to chronicle the writing process. This album will serve as the official follow up to 2010's immensely successful 'The Powerless Rise', which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 at #10. 'The Powerless Rise' also reached #2 on Billboard's Independent Albums Chart and #3 on Billboard's Hard Music Albums Chart. In Canada, the album debuted at #11 on the Top 200 Chart, #2 on the Indie Chart and #3 on the Hard Rock Chart. ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL, the world’s largest touring Heavy Music festival experience, is pleased to announce the addition of MOTÖRHEAD to the 2012 line-up! This marks the first summer tour that MOTÖRHEAD has taken part in for several years. The legendary Metal veterans join the already stellar 2012 main stage line-up, featuring multi-platinum Iowa cult metal groundbreakers SLIPKNOT in the headlining position, as well as legendary thrash metal kings SLAYER—both returning to the ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL for a second turn at pummeling fans.
MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister commented, "Well, we're used to mayhem in this band, so it's kind of a family tradition! Bring it!"
MOTÖRHEAD just finished up their run with ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL alum Megadeth on the 2012 Gigantour. On January 24th, MOTÖRHEAD Music/UDR released ‘The Wörld Is Ours-Vol 1 - Everywhere Further Than Everyplace Else’, an official DVD containing some of the finest moments from the band’s recent The Wörld is Yours tour, which also includes a special bonus double live CD of the Chile stop. Frontman Lemmy will also be part of a Ronnie James Dio tribute album which will be out later this year. As I Lay Dying ended 2011, the year of their tenth anniversary as a band, with an extremely successful headlining tour. "The Decade of Destruction Tour" ran throughout November and December all over the US. While on the tour, the band captured live footage from several shows. The footage was edited by the band's own Nick Hipa into what has become the band's next video: "Paralyzed". The video encapsulates As I Lay Dying in a special moment in time; their tenth anniversary tour in front of sold-out crowds full of devoted fans. The video is available below.
As I Lay Dying are currently writing their fifth album and are preparing to enter the studio this April. The producer, title, art and all other details will be released over the next few months.
