COAL CHAMBER Update By Dez Fafara: "About a week ago, they sent me some new tunes and said..."

When Coal Chamber arrived to the Heavy Music scene in 1994, their music was assimilated by millions of fans worldwide thanks to their fresh sounding mix of Heavy Metal and Alternative Music blended with elements of Industrial Metal. Aside from their music, their gothic imagery also helped to captivate a ton of eye balls that were rather confused at what Coal Chamber was feeding to them. After a successful run that spanned from 1994 to 2003, Dez Fafara left the band due to internal problems. Shortly after he left the band, Dez joined DevilDriver and we all know the results of this crushing band by now: uncompromised hard hitting Heavy Metal!

After reuniting this past March for a series of concerts as part of Australia's Soundwave Festival (video below), DevilDriver singer Dez Fafara has an update for the COAL CHAMBER fans:

"What we did is [the members of the original COAL CHAMBER band] started talking over the last six years — they were coming around to DEVILDRIVER shows and such; I mean, they actually hang out with the DEVILDRIVER guys in L.A. more than I do, 'cause I live outside of L.A., about two hours. We did that Australian run and it went just spectacular. After that, we went down and we did South America for nine days [in September], and that went killer. So now we're starting to kick around, like, 'OK, do we wanna hit the States? Do we wanna do something?'

"COAL CHAMBER, for me right now, is like a really fine woman, man. I've gotta re-date her — she's back in my life, I've gotta see how she is, and we've gotta take our time with each other. And that's what we're doing. And I think that's the important thing — we're doing it for the love of the music as well. There's a lot of people that never got to either see COAL CHAMBER live or haven't seen us in a long time due to the breakup.

"It's good to see [the other guys in the band] off hard drugs, man, and you can see these guys are crystal clear, and it makes me wanna do music with them again.

"Right now, with COAL CHAMBER, that's what we're doing — we're taking it slow. About a week ago, they sent me some new tunes and said, 'Hey, would you ever think about doing a NEW record? Here's some NEW tunes.' And they were absolutely killer. They were moving forward with their sound, but yet you could tell it was COAL CHAMBER, but it wasn't so linear. So who knows what's gonna happen in the future, man? We're just playing it by ear at this point. I've got a lot going on right now, so we just have to really see."

COAL CHAMBER Performs In Buenos Aires, Argentina - Live Footage Available!

Earlier this year, during an interview with Australia's Loud magazine, Dez talked about how the COAL CHAMBER reunion came about: "In '05, Meegs [Miguel Rascón, guitar] started coming around. He apologized to my wife for the way things went down with COAL CHAMBER, because when COAL CHAMBER split up I had to move my family into a one-bedroom apartment and start all over. So when he apologized to my wife, I thought, 'Well, OK, he's got a big heart inside him. And he's clean off the hard drugs now, let's see if this goes awhile.' So let's fast forward a few years to '09, he and Mikey [Mike Cox, drums] were still clean off hard drugs, Meegs came out and did 'Loco' onstage with DevilDriver. After that he gave me a hug onstage and in my ear he said, 'Let's do this again.'"

Earlier today (Wednesday, September 5) COAL CHAMBER performed in Buenos Aires, Argentina. You can watch the bands live performance HERE!

PANTERA: Full Concert Footage Of Last Show Ever In Korea!

12 years ago, after Pantera released their last major label album 'Reinventing The Steel' (March 13, 2000), everyone was caught by surprise due to the musicality displayed by the Pantera boys. Perhaps not their heaviest album (even though it is heavy as hell), on 'Reinventing The Steel' Pantera took their music into yet another level and many say that this album gave birth to the NuMetal movement.

As we all know, Pantera started as a glam band and it was 'Cowboys From Hell' (released on July 3, 1990) they clearly left shaped up their signature sound. But if there is one factor that was kept intact by the band, was that their live shows only got better and better. Here is full concert footage of Pantera's last gig ever in Korea during the "Extreme Steel Tour". Crank it up and watch it go!
