LAMB OF GOD's Randy Blythe Lashes Out On Disrespectful Fans: "I have never been more disgusted with an audience in my life. I wish we hadn't played"
When Randy Blythe called for 60 seconds of silence during LAMB OF GOD's concert in Medford, Oregon, on Friday, December 14, to honor the victims (most of them shortly) of the Connecticut school shooting, he never thought he was going to get such a shitty reaction from the crowd. Get this, Blythe almost walked off the stage! Here is what he commented via his Instagram account:
"I have never been more disgusted with an audience in my life. I wish we hadn't played," he wrote.
"We, LAMB OF GOD, asked for sixty seconds of silence during our first set break to honor the dead children and teachers in Connecticut. It seemed appropriate — it's a goddamned national TRAGEDY.
"Most of the crowd complied, but several didn't, some cursing and even laughing.
"I wanted to walk off stage.
"I am so disgusted right now.
"If you were one of those who wouldn't shut up for SIXTY LOUSY SECONDS to honor twenty MURDERED CHILDREN, go look in the mirror. You are looking at a piece of shit. Your parents are obviously pieces of shit too, because they raised you to behave with no dignity.
"To the fans who were respectful, I thank you. I am also sorry you have so many goddamned assholes in your community. You should do something about that.
"This shit would not have happened at a LAMB OF GOD show where I live, and that is a FACT. We have more manners.
"I am just disgusted. Thoroughly DIGUSTED. You yelling people give Metal a band name. Screw that, you give humanity a bad name. Grow up. Your parents should have beaten some manners into you, you savage little beasts.
"With that, I will go to bed, say a prayer for those suffering, and hope for a better day tomorrow, because tonight SUCKED."
The mass shooting that took place at a Connecticut elementary school on Friday resulted in the deaths of 28 people, including 20 schoolchildren. It was the second-deadliest school shooting in U.S. history, behind the 2007 Virginia Tech mass shooting that left 32 dead.

LAMB OF GOD's Chris Adler Comments On The Conclusion Of Randy Blythe's Comeback Tour + Extensive Image Gallery Unleashed!
The story of the year in Heavy Music is without a doubt the unforeseen arrest of LAMB OF GOD's vocalist Randy Blythe (Watch our video report HERE!). Blythe was arrested on June 28 this year at the Prague Airport on charges of causing, “bodily harm of the fourth degree, resulting in the death of a fan:” an event that allegedly took place during a Lamb Of God concert on May 24, 2010. Blythe was detained in a Czech Republic prison for thirty seven days before he was released on bail.
After having to cancel their highly anticipated co-headlining tour with DETHKLOK because of Blythe's arrest, once Blythe was free the LOG camp called up some of their favorite bands and were able to lineup a badass tour featuring IN FLAMES, HATEBREED or HELLYEAH, and SYLOSIS. The tour has come to an end, and in order to celebrate it in style we have an extensive photo gallery created by Horns Up Rocks' Zulie Alvarez. But before we get into that, here is what LAMB OF GOD's drummer Chris Adler had to say about the conclusion of the tour:
"By far one of the best Tours we've ever done has come to an end. Bitter sweet. It's been amazing to see Sylosis, Hatebreed OR HellYeah and In Flames every single night. We all get along like brothers and have had so much fun on and off the stage. I will miss them all as well as all of you that came out to support the tour. Thank you so very much!
"Now it's time to get home for the holidays with the family and I'm lucky to have that. Apparently, I'm being put right to work helping my wife pour candles to make all of her orders ship on time! Who would have thought?! Check out her website littlesilverlinings.com, or her Facebook page 'Little Silver Linings' and starting Tuesday I'll be adding my metal touch to all the orders!
"I hope all of you are well and I wish everyone a warm and safe Holiday Season. Stay metal!" - Chris Adler (LAMB OF GOD)

Arrest Of LAMB OF GOD's Randy Blythe: The News Story In Heavy Music Of The Year 2012!
There is no doubt in our minds that 2012 was a great/crazy year for OUR music, especially when it comes to unexpected events that had nothing to do with the music. In times in which EVERY single band is struggling in one form or another due to the decline of the music industry, the last thing any band needs is to get their plans affected by out of the ordinary situations that are way beyond their control.
Take for example the arrest of Randy Blythe's arrest in the Czech Republic during LAMB OF GOD's European tour in support of their latest release 'Resolution' (available now via EPIC/Roadrunner Records).
According to Czech news site Novinky.cz, the State Attorney’s Office in Prague, Czech Republic has officially indicted Lamb Of God singer Randy Blythe on the manslaughter charge that received international media attention earlier this year. The decision means that the the court now has three months to set an official date for the singer’s trial or send the case back for further investigation.
Thankfully, Michael Posner, Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, declared that the U.S. government is “closely monitoring the progress” of vocalist Randy Blythe’s impending legal trial in the Czech Republic.
Here is our video report of the news story in Heavy Music of the year 2012.

Previously Unreleased CBS Interview With Randy Blythe About His Time In A Czech Prison!
Photo by: Will Ireland (Getty Images)
As previously reported, LAMB OF GOD's Randy Blythe spent five weeks incarcerated in a Prague, Czech Republic prison. Blythe was released on a $400,000 bail and was able to return to the United States on Friday, August 3rd. Although LAMB OF GOD was forced to cancel their summer co-headline tour with Dethklok and special guests Gojira, the band performed at SLIPKNOT's "KnotFest". The series of events took place on Friday, August 17th in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Saturday, August 18th in Somerset, Wisconsin. The band has already announced a full blown U.S. tour (due to Blythe's legal situation, the band won't be going to Canada). Full details below.
Shortly after being released from the Pankrác prison in Prague, Czech Republic, WTVR-TV — the CBS television affiliate based in Richmond, Virginia — discussed with Blythe his 37-day stay at the notorious Czech Republic penitentiary on a manslaughter charge related to the death of a fan there two years ago. LAMB OF GOD's Randy Blythe: "The first thing I noticed was four or five really large men with guns and great pig pointy knives, pistols and face-masks."

The band has already announced a full blown U.S. tour (due to Blythe's legal situation, the band won't be going to Canada). Full details below.
Metal Hammer, recently conducted an in-depth interview with Blythe (Order the issue HERE!). A few excerpts of the interview follow:
“It still didn’t sink in that something weird was happening with my band, but as soon as I got to the top of the ramp, the first thing I noticed was four or five really large men with guns and great pig pointy knives, pistols and facemasks. All you could see was their eyes and their mouths and they looked like they were there to apprehend a terrorist.
“After a minute this woman goes, ‘Mr Blythe’, and I said, ‘Yes?’ and she’s looking at my passport, then she hands me a piece of paper that said I was to be charged with…well..we’re using the term ‘manslaughter’ because it’s the nearest translation in English. It said I was to be charged with, what I think in English would be, GBH, grievous bodily harm with malicious intent resulting in someone’s death.
“I was in the car with three plain-clothes homicide detectives, and one of them sort of spoke English, but not very well, and he started asking me, ‘So, what do you remember of this incident?’ Very conversationally. I was like, ‘You know, I really don’t know what’s happening right now so I want a lawyer’. When they hand you a piece of paper that says you’re being charged with manslaughter you know you aren’t just going to answer a few questions then walk out the door.”
Metal fans in prison:
“One of the guards who drove me was a metalhead. He knew who I was. He was like, ‘I’m sorry you have to be here. I like Finntroll and Rammstein.’ It’s a remand prison, so a little less than half the prisoners there are awaiting sentence and the rest are serving time, but I believe they’re mixed together. It’s a prison, not a jail, but from what I understood, the super-violent offenders were kept in their own ward.”
Ticket links for all shows are below:
This weekend (September 21, 22) tickets for 36 of the 38 shows on the

Randy Blythe Needs Our Help: LAMB OF GOD Launch eBay Memorabilia Auction For Blythe's Defense Fund!
While LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe is back home in America after five weeks in prison in the Czech Republic, his legal problems are far from over. Manslaughter charges are still hanging over Blythe and at some point over the next few months he will have to return to Prague and stand trial. Faced with continuing massive legal bills, LAMB OF GOD has decided to create an eBay auction of equipment and memorabilia to raise money for Randy’s legal bills. All equipment was either used on tour or in the recording studio or in a video. The auction features items provided by all five members of LAMB OF GOD.
In addition, a number of musicians have offered equipment to be used in the auction. Guitars have been donated by Machine Head’s Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel as well as Slash and Five Finger Death Punch. Megadeth’s David Ellefson and Five Finger Death Punch’s Chris Kael have each contributed a bass and the members of Five Finger Death Punch also have contributed a signed skateboard.
Justice Now, the site set up for donations, will remain open for those wishing to donate to Randy’s defense fund. The band appreciates all of the support Randy has received since his arrest on June 28th and is thankful for all of the donations that have been made in these tough economic times. As stated before, without the fans, there is no LAMB OF GOD.
As previously reported, LAMB OF GOD is busy rescheduling a canceled U.S. tour for October. According to Lambgoat, the first announced date of the tour, in Phoenix, AZ at Comerica Theater on October 30th. Unfortunately, DETHKLOK and GOJIRA won't be joining LAMB OF GOD this time around. But get this: HATEBREED, IN FLAMES and SYLOSIS will be part of what promises to be an epic tour. More details coming soon!

Randy Blythe: "Why would I try and hurt fans of my band? That's ridiculous."
After five weeks in a Czech Republic prison, Randy Blythe was released on bail and was able to return to the United States. Although LAMB OF GOD was forced to cancel their summer co-headline tour with Dethklok and special guests Gojira, the band has agreed to play SLIPKNOT's "KnotFest" shows this weekend: August 17th in Council Bluffs, Iowa and August 18th in Somerset, Wisconsin.
Recently, Blythe was interviewed by Revolver Magazine about his recent incarceration:
Blythe has made it very clear that he has no plans to change the way he will act onstage in the future. "What else am I going to do? We don't have a big production set up or anything. We don't have purple dragons that fly out of the sky and breathe fire. We're just a bunch of dudes who get up there and rock and roll."
He continues, "This incident that occurred, it was an unfortunate occurrence. A tragedy. And there's a lot of details that need to be clarified that came out of this, and hopefully they will in court. But it's not going to change the way we do things, because I didn't do anything wrong. So why should I change what I'm doing? They're saying I committed a crime of intent, like I went out and hurt someone. That's total bullshit. Why would I try and hurt fans of my band? That's ridiculous. So no.
"If anything good comes out of this, as far as a change to how we operate, I would hope it would be a more far-reaching thing than just my band," he says. "I would hope it would raise the awareness for the need for adequate security, not just for the band but for the audience as well. Most of the time, none of this stuff is an issue because security is entirely adequate. Security knows how to keep the kids from getting hurt while letting them have a good time. To the outside world, to people who aren't in our scene, it all looks like a great big violent mess. They don't know that everybody's just having a good time. There is a very big need for security, though, to ensure — especially if kids are going to be crowdsurfing and coming over the barricade and stuff — there's got to be guys there to catch them. So if anything good comes out of these, I hope we will lessen any injuries incurred by concert-going folks."
According to Blythe, he wasn't aware of how much people were talking about him in the United States while he was imprisoned in the Czech Republic. "There was no Internet, [and] I can't read Czech papers," he says. "The mail there was very slow because it went through censors.
"I got a postcard from a guy in Seattle who had just signed with Metal Blade, who I think he had to be in Prague, because it was mailed from there," he says. "And then I got a nice letter from this guy from Tennessee; he and his wife, and he had enclosed a couple Internet clippings. My friend, [TESTAMENT guitarist] Alex Skolnick, had done a blog about me. It was just a couple of cool things just to let me know that people were thinking about me. And that was really hugely important. . . Beyond that and my lawyer, I saw my wife once, and my American lawyer was over there for a couple of days. I had two or three meetings with him. They said that people were speaking up, but I really had no idea of the amount of support I had. It was pretty crazy. I couldn't read any of the Czech papers, which were not very supportive of me.
"One day I walked out into the yard for a walk and a prisoner came up to me and said [with an accent], 'Ozzy Osbourne says good for you.' And I'm like, 'Wow.' Because it was in their paper, but that's about it."
He continues, "I know MUNICIPAL WASTE. Phil Hall, the bass player, his brother, I skateboard with him. And he saw me yesterday and said they were in Prague and they tried to go visit me, since they're from Richmond. But you've got to have all of this shit written in advance and you've got to write this form and the guard yelled at me that I hadn't written it right for people to come visit. It's got to be at least a week in advance and you get only one visit every two weeks. So I was kind of isolated."
Asked how he handled the loneliness, Blythe tells Revolver, "I really try to stay in the moment. When I went to prison, I was like, OK, you can either just sit here and feel sorry for yourself or you can try and make the most of your time. And I just didn't allow myself to feel sorry for myself. If I did, I quickly mentally kicked myself in the ass and said, don't be such a sissy.
"Dude, I toured Auschwitz about a month before I went to this prison. I walked around Auschwitz and Birkenau all day long by myself, listening and reading at all these places where all these people were killed in this one tiny area. That puts stuff in perspective. I also try to remain grateful for what I had. I had food, clothes and shelter.
"We recently toured places — I've been to some pretty brutal places on tour on my days off where you see people starving in the streets. And in our media, of course, there's all sorts of crazy shit going on in the Middle East. Our soldiers are getting shot at in Afghanistan and Syria's blowing up. If you think about all these things, I wasn't in such a bad place and I just reminded myself of that. I could eat, I wasn't freezing or sweating to death, and nobody was shooting guns or throwing grenades at me. So I was like, I'm just going to sit here and make the most of my time and read and write. And learn a little bit."

Randy Blythe Interview About His Incarceration In The Czech Republic!
One week ago, after five weeks in a Czech Republic prison, Randy Blythe was released on bail and was able to return to the United States. Although LAMB OF GOD was forced to cancel their summer co-headline tour with Dethklok and special guests Gojira, the band has agreed to play SLIPKNOT's "KnotFest" shows on August 17th in Council Bluffs, Iowa and August 18th in Somerset, Wisconsin.
Blythe was interviewed on this morning's (Friday, August 10) edition of the KROQ morning radio program "The Kevin & Bean Show". Here are a few excerpts from the interview.
On the alleged incident at a LAMB OF GOD concert that resulted in the death of a fan:
Randy: "We played a show in Prague and a young man was injured and fell into a coma and died a month later. And then the Czech police started to investigate this and contacted our government and said, 'Hey, we wanna investigate this guy on possible manslaughter charges.'
"It was a heavy metal show; people jump up on stage and go crazy and all this other stuff — it's standard. [It happens] every single day.
"The young man in question left the stage and hit his head, and the young man's family — rightfully so — asked the Czech police to investigate this.
"I don't think the Czech police, or police probably in general, have a pretty firm grasp on what a heavy metal show is like and what goes on. So there's a lot of really questionable evidence about this young man's injury. Regardless, I was charged with manslaughter."
On how he ended up getting arrested:
Randy: "Apparently, the Czech police wrote to our Justice Department and contacted them, perhaps the FBI as well, and said, 'We have this charge and this investigation against this young man for manslaughter. And our government basically told them, 'No way. Get out of here.' I don't know if they thought the charge was unwarranted enough for them to even bother to pursue it. And that's okay; I understand that. But our government never notified me. I'm kind of perturbed about that.
"So we booked [another] gig [in Prague], no problem, two years later and went back to play, and I was met by a S.W.A.T. team at the airport when I walked off the ramp to carry me away; there were guys with masks and machine guns — it was pretty intense.
"I understand if our government didn't wanna comply 'cause they didn't think it was worth their time, but they could have let me know. If the IRS can find me and the Justice Department can't, then our country is in trouble."
"For the first two or three minutes [after I was detained], I was completely in shock. I'm standing there and it looks like with the people they'd sent to come get me, but they're there to pick up Al-Qaeda. They had on full-on masks, machine guns, big knives, all this stuff. I came off the plane, actually, and they took our passports, which was a little bit unusual, but I've seen it before, 'cause we travel all the time… With people getting deported, or whatever — that's generally what it is; people hopping borders illegally or whatever. So I come off the plane and I see all these guys, great, big guys with guns, and I look at my bass player and I start singing KOOL & THE GANG. I'm like, 'It's a party going on right here.' And he goes, 'No, dude. This isn't a party. This is not good.' [So] they took me away and it was very… it was startling more than terrifying, 'cause everything was so surreal."
On his time in the Czech prison:
Randy: "The Czech legal system works different than ours — really different than ours — because they granted me bail at my initial court hearing. In the United States, when you're granted bail, if the judge decided to give you bail, you post bail and then you walk out of jail. Your wife comes and gets you, or whatever, and you say you're sorry… And the Czech Republic doesn't quite work that way. The judge granted me bail, my band got the money together, posted it, and then the prosecuting attorney said, 'No, I don't really like that.' So he raised an objection. So it went to an appeal court. The appeal court doubled my bail. We're talking about $400,000 at this point. So they had to kind of scramble to get that money together. Then the prosecuting attorney, after I paid it a second time, objected and said, 'I don't really like this. I don't think he should get out on bail.' So I sat in jail some more and it went to another appeal court and then I got out."
On whether anyone from the U.S. government offered any assistance to him while he was in the Czech prison:
Randy: "I saw a woman from the [American] embassy in Prague once. To my knowledge, I was the only American in prison there in Pankrác in Prague. So it wasn't like they had a whole slew of guys — from Colorado to New Jersey to Texas, or whatever — in there. [but they didn't really do anything for me], and I'm not very pleased about that either. I mean, I understand it's due process and there was an investigation, but the judicial system there is kind of messed up."
On whether any of his fellow prisoners knew who he was:
Randy: "Some [of the other people in prison] did — I had some fans in there. [And] that could be good and it could be bad; it depends on whether or not they like your music."
On where the case stands right now:
Randy: "If it gets to trial, I don't know yet. It could be right before Christmas, it could be after Christmas, it could be the beginning of next year. It's not for certain that [the case] will go to trial, because I've been charged by the police, but then, as I said, the Czech judicial system is weird, the prosecuting attorney hasn't charged me yet. So you've gotta get charged by a whole bunch of guys before things start going through. But if I have to go, I will go."
On whether he was aware of the support he was receiving back home from his fans and the rest of the music community:
Randy: "I had minimal news of the progression of my case, because almost nobody in there spoke English and I couldn't read a Czech newspaper. But my lawyer told me, 'Your hometown is really standing behind you, all your fans are. There's a lot of people in the music industry standing behind you.' And I didn't realize how much it was until I got out. 'Cause in there, prisoners would just give me little tidbits, who spoke broken English. I'd come out to our hourly walk and they'd be like [adopting Czech accent], 'Ozzy Osbourne said something good for you.' Slash from GUNS N' ROSES… all sorts of people, who are just legends in the music industry, were really supportive and speaking out, and our fans were certainly supportive."

RANDY BLYTHE's Official Statement Following His Incarceration In The Czech Republic!
This past Friday (August 3), we reported that Randy Blythe is finally a free man! Upon his release on bail from prison, Blythe headed over to Prague's Ruzyně International Airportto catch a plane back to Richmond, Virginia (Blythe's hometown) with a layover in New York City. After spending the weekend at home with family and friends, Blythe say down and penned down the following statement:
"Greetings. This is D. Randall Blythe, checking in from my beloved hometown of Richmond, VA, United States of America. I was recently released on bail from Pankrác Prison in Prague, Czech Republic, after over a month of incarceration. Now that I am out for the moment, I would like to say a few things.
1.
" While in prison, I had minimal knowledge of how my case was viewed anywhere but in the Czech Republic. I was told by my attorney that I had a lot support from peers in the music industry, my hometown, fans, and of course my family. I cannot express how emotional it made me upon my release to read about even a fraction of the voices that were raised on my behalf. From legends in my music community, to fans across the world, and even people who were previously unaware of my existence but sympathized with my plight- I am truly humbled. I cannot thank you enough for your thoughts and prayers. I would especially like to thank the people of Richmond, VA, for standing by me. In the 48 hours I have been home, many people I have never met before have stopped me on the street, waved and smiled as I passed by, or said hello in a restaurant. All have said "We are glad you are home, Randy". You all make me proud and grateful that I call Richmond home.
2.
"I would like state that I suffered no abuse, from either authorities or inmates, during my incarceration in Pankrác. I received no special treatment, and was in general population with everyone else- make no mistake, it was prison, not some celebrity rehab TV show. But I was treated fairly by the guards and kindly by my fellow inmates. People are dying of starvation all over the world. Men and women are losing their lives daily in the Middle East and other war torn regions. I had food, clothes, shelter, and no one was trying to kill me. I cannot complain over a short stay in prison while many people elsewhere fight to survive on a daily basis.
3.
"If it is deemed necessary for me to do so, I WILL return to Prague to stand trial. While I maintain my innocence 100%, and will do so steadfastly, I will NOT hide in the United States, safe from extradition and possible prosecution. As I write this, the family of a fan of my band suffers through the indescribably tragic loss of their child. They have to deal with constantly varying media reports about the circumstances surrounding his death. I am charged with maliciously causing severe bodily harm to this young man, resulting in his death. While I consider the charge leveled against me ludicrous and without qualification, my opinion makes no difference in this matter. The charge exists, and for the family of this young man, questions remain. The worst possible pain remains. It is fairly common knowledge amongst fans of my band that I once lost a child as well. I, unfortunately, am intimately familiar with what their pain is like. Therefore, I know all too well that in their time of grief, this family needs and deserves some real answers, not a media explosion followed by the accused killer of their son hiding like a coward thousands of miles away while they suffer. I am a man. I was raised to face my problems head on, not run from them like a petulant child. I hope that justice is done, and the family of Daniel N. will receive the closure they undoubtedly need to facilitate healing. I feel VERY STRONGLY that as an adult, it would be both irresponsible and immoral for me not to return to Prague if I am summoned. This is not about bail money. This is about a young man who lost his life. I will act with honor, and I will fight to clear my good name in this matter. Thank you for reading this, and I wish you all peace."
