SIX FEET UNDER Announces NEW Bassist!
Last week, it was announced that former Chimaira guitarist Matt DeVries decided to leave Six Feet Under to pursue other musical endeavors. Those other musical endeavors? Yesterday, it was announced the DeVries has joined Industrial Metallers Fear Factory!
Today, Six Feet Under announced that seven-string bassist Jeff Hughell, formerly of the Santa Cruz, California technical Death Metal band Brain Drill and Concord, California Death Metal group Vile, as well as a current member of Reciprocal, is the bands NEW bassist! This is what vocalist Chris Barnes had to say about this:
"Six Feet Under is proud to announce our NEW member, bass player Jeff Hughell. He's an amazing musician and I have been a fan of his work since first hearing BRAIN DRILL a few years back. We feel with the addition of Jeff, all the puzzle pieces are in place and the killing machine known as SIX FEET UNDER is now a true Death Metal force to be reckoned with! Prepare to be toe tagged and body bagged."
Added Jeff Hughell, "I am honored to be the newest edition to the mighty Six Feet Under. This band is now a well oiled killing machine with Kevin Talley and myself as the rhythm section, Steve Swanson and Rob Arnold crushing guitars, and, of course, the man himself Chris Barnes killing it on vocals. The NEW material is the heaviest Six Feet Under songs I have ever heard and I can't wait for the world to get their faces melted clean off by it. I would like to thank Mike Faley, Kelli Malella and the whole Six Feet Under family for thinking of me. It's going to be one hell of a ride!"
At current time Six Feet Under is mixing their NEW album at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Mark Lewis (The Black Dahilia Murder, Whitechapel, DevilDriver, Trivium).
SIX FEET UNDER's touring lineup:
* Chris Barnes - Vocals

Former CHIMAIRA Guitarist Matt DeVries Quits SIX FEET UNDER! What's Going On?
Guitarists Rob Arnold and Matt DeVries took the Heavy Music world by storm when they decided to quit CHIMAIRA late last year to SIX FEET UNDER as touring musicians. Today, it was announced that DeVries has left the Floridean Metallers to pursue other musical endeavors.
The band will be announcing within the next few months who will become their permanent bassist. At current time SIX FEET UNDER is mixing their NEW album at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, TRIVIUM). What can people expect?
"The music is gonna be, really, kind of an accelerated version of what we were doing before — faster-paced, more interesting time signatures as well as really wild choruses and some heavy vocals," commented frontman Chris Barnes. "I think people are really gonna be interested in this album. It's something different, but it's something the same. The feel of it is SIX FEET UNDER, but we've pushed it and added some horsepower."
SIX FEET UNDER's touring lineup:
* Chris Barnes (CANNIBAL CORPSE) - Vocals
* Rob Arnold (CHIMAIRA) - Guitar
* Kevin Talley (DAATH, MISERY INDEX, CHIMAIRA) - Drums
* Steve Swanson - Guitar
Stay tuned for more details!

CHIMAIRA have released a behind the scenes video of the band rehearsing for their upcoming appearance on Australia's Soundwave Festival and European/UK dates to follow after. View the video below.
The band released their most recent record, 'The Age Of Hell' over the summer to much critical praise. "Despite being conceived in the face of such upheaval, this is easily one of Cleveland mob's best efforts to date," says KERRANG! Magazine.
REVOLVER Magazine touts the record as "Raw and Ripping, the album is also impressively eclectic.

Chimaira Announces NEW Lineup For 2012!
Ohio metallers CHIMAIRA have released the following statement, regarding the future of the band:
"Early in July, we were informed that Rob Arnold [guitar] and Matt DeVries [guitar] would be leaving Chimaira at the end of 2011. Of course, this was a huge blow, but there were no hard feelings. We understand that life invades art, everything runs its course, and we have to take different paths. We respect their decision and wish them only the best. We made heavy metal history together and that is all that matters at the end of the day. 'Chimaira Christmas 12' will be their last show, and we've been preparing to make it one that you'll never forget.
"We are proud to announce the addition of Matt Szlachta (formerly in Dirge Within) and Jeremy Creamer (Dååth) to Chimaira. The plan was to build an undeniable string section and we have done just that. Jeremy will be pounding on the bass, and Matt shredding alongside Emil on guitar.
"As a way to say hello to the Chimaira fans, Jeremy recently remixed a couple of tracks from The Age Of Hell. Go here and download the FREE EP and listen to the Allinaline mixes. (We’d also like to thank Dubba Jonny for remixing Year Of The Snake!)
"CCXII marks the end of an era, but it’s also the start of a new chapter. We look forward to 2012. Thank you all for your overwhelming, and continuous support."
- Mark, Emil, Matt, Z, Austin, and Jeremy (Chimaira 2012)
'Chimaira Christmas 12' will take place tomorrow (December 30th) at the House Of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio.

Chimaira's Guitarists Quit The Band - Official Statement From Vocalist Mark Hunter!
Vocalist Mark Hunter of Cleveland, Ohio metallers CHIMAIRA has released the following statement:
"I would like to start off by thanking our fans for a great tour. This last run was a blast, and truly the most fun we’ve had in a long while. The energy from the audience was exactly what we needed, and a welcoming return. Thank you, guys!
"Unfortunately, as much fun as we were having, behind the scenes we were aware of some unfortunate realities that prevented us from 'living the dream' and having the time of our lives. We had another bomb to drop on the fans.
"Early in July, we were informed that Rob Arnold [guitar] and Matt DeVries [guitar] would be leaving CHIMAIRA at the end of 2011. Of course, this was a huge blow, but there were no hard feelings. We made heavy metal history together and that is all that matters at the end of the day. 'Chimaira Christmas 12' will be their last show, and we've been preparing to make it one that you'll never forget.
"I would personally like to thank Rob and Matt for all of their hard work, years of service to CHIMAIRA, amazing songs, and for their friendship. Together we built something special that will remain for generations to come.
"I'm looking forward to spending another five weeks on the road with two of the best (and criminally underrated) guitarists in modern metal.
"What's next for CHIMAIRA in 2012? More on that very soon.
"Rather than try and make light of unpleasant news, or downplay this by hyping up a new lineup, let's take a few to honor Rob and Matt. My favorite solo of Rob's is on 'The Heart Of It All' and my favorite riff of Matt's is 'The Dehumanizing Process'. I'll be cranking those today. What about you?"
