SIX FEET UNDER Announce NEW Drummer!

This just in: SIX FEET UNDER have parted ways with drummer Kevin Talley. However, the transition for the NEW drummer will be near-seemless, as he is a former band member of bassist Jeff Hughell. Marco Pitruzzella has officially joined the ranks of SIX FEET UNDER and will make his debut appearance with the band this Saturday (June 1) in Memphis, TN at Scion Rock Fest! For info on the fest, including the full line-up, visit Scionav.com.

Chris Barnes discusses the lineup change: "I'm proud to announce a new addition to the ranks of Six Feet Under. Replacing drummer Kevin Talley is our new friend and cohort, Marco Pitruzzella (http://youtu.be/KVs_HBoxZds). Marco has worked with Jeff Hughell in their former band, Brain Drill, and is such an amazing talented and great guy. I'm very excited having him in the band and can't wait to take the stage with Marco this Saturday in Memphis for Scion Rock Fest!

"It was good working with Kevin Talley for the past couple of years, but we are very ready and extremely focused on moving the band forward with a new, more stable and permanent lineup for writing as well as touring. Be prepared to be shredded! See you all soon!"

SIX FEET UNDER Release Full Details For 'Unborn'; Lyric Video for "Zombie Blood Curse" Is Awaiting You!

As previously announced, Death Metal icons SIX FEET UNDER will release a brand NEW full-length album. Entitled 'Unborn', the bands 10th studio album will be released on March 19th via Metal Blade Records.

Led by the inimitable Chris Barnes, owner of one of the most powerful and instantly recognizable voices in the genre, the band are returning with an overhauled line up that sees them reinvigorated and churning out some of the most visceral music they have ever put their name to.

In November of 2010 when vocalist and founding member Chris Barnes first started to get the idea of working with NEW writers for SIX FEET UNDER's next release, he contacted Rob Arnold, Jari Laine, and Ben Savage to share in the writing process. After just two years of writing and recording 20 plus tracks, and releasing 'UNDEAD' in May of 2012, SIX FEET UNDER are now proud to unveil 'UNDEAD's' demented fraternal twin…

"The journey to create, write, and record 'UNDEAD' and 'UNBORN' has been the most challenging and exciting musical endeavor and process I have ever been involved with," expresses vocalist and founder Chris Barnes. "Working with all these amazing writers and musicians like Ben Savage (Whitechapel) on songs like Neuro Osmosis and Fragment are some of the most dynamic, beautiful, and brutal songs I've ever had the pleasure of putting lyrics to." Barnes continues, "I believe Ben is a true innovator of the Death Metal genre. It was also a lot of fun working Jari Laine from Torture Killer again. We wrote a great album together a few years back called 'SWARM!' One of my favorite releases I've been involved with– and Jari is someone who I have really wanted to work with again ever since. I wanted to revisit collaborating with Jari because of how well we work together; proof of that on 'UNBORN' are the hook heavy sounds of songs like Zombie Blood Curse and Incision."

'UNDEAD' proved to be one of SIX FEET UNDER's most critically acclaimed albums to date, and with a revamped and tour-hardened lineup rounded out by: guitarist Ola Englund, drummer Kevin Talley, bassist Jeff Hughell, and long-time guitarist Steve Swanson, 'UNBORN' promises to elevate the band to even loftier heights.

The lyric video for "Zombie Blood Curse", the first track to be loosed from 'UNBORN', is streaming below. You can now pre-order your copy of 'Unborn' HERE.

Drama Alert: CATTLE DECAPITATION Cancel New York City Appearance After A Fist Fight With Members Of SIX FEET UNDER!

CATTLE DECAPITATION has apparently dropped off the SIX FEET UNDER tour following some drama between their vocalist Travis Ryan and SIX FEET UNDER's Chris Barnes.

Ryan had the following to say via Facebook:

"Chris Barnes is a fucking hack. I've personally passed on at least five Six Feet tours over the last 8 or so years because he pulls so much nonsense on the support bands because his ego is astronomical. We're leaving the Chris Barnes Show tour today. Go to the Chris Barnes show and buy some of their merch. They need it desperately.

"He couldn't handle the fact that we were destroying him nightly on merch and talked shit about us on stage last night. I went to confront him about that and he sucker punched me as I was talking. He immediately RAN out the door and fled to his bus like he does every night when the two fans that are left for their show are trying to get him to sign something.

"We're leaving because we have no interest in bringing more people to the Chris Barnes show. There was no "fight". He punched me, RAN away and a few people saw it. I just walked out told his tour manager the deal, wrapped up the merch and left.

"Just don't go to the show and please get the word out. Cattle Decapitation is not doing this tour as we no longer wish to bring peole to his show. Cuz its HIS show. More than enough people have drilled that fact into us.

"He says: "what about showing some respect" I laughed, said "respect?" And proceeded to tell him about the time where he spent all night with me outside their bus @ the tail end of the Butchered At Birth Tour in 93 and that respect was paid long ago and he's since proved to the Metal world how much of a bitch he is… I got "dude, in 1993…" In there and he punched me as I was talking. Ran out the door and seriously thinks he's a bad ass still? Hahaha…

"Here's how Chris Barnes works: punches. Runs. Does the Rocky dance like he's a badass on his tour bus he's about to not fuckin afford."

For his part, Barnes had the following to say via Twitter: "If you eat tofu you'll get you're ass kicked in a fight. #knocked out"

SIX FEET UNDER's "The Autumn Apocalypse" With CATTLE DECAPITATION Is Coming For The U.S.

It has been announced that SIX FEET UNDER will be embarking on on a headlining tour this Fall. The Chris-Barnes-named "Autumn Apocalypse Tour" will also feature label mates CATTLE DECAPITATION as well as WRETCHED. The tour will occur throughout the first half of November, with the full routing available below.

SIX FEET UNDER, led by the inimitable Chris Barnes, possessor of one of the most dominant and instantly recognizable voices of the Death Metal genre. Now featuring Barnes alongside NEW guitarist Ola Englund, longtime guitarist Steve Swanson, new bassist Jeff Hughell, and drummer Kevin Talley, whose history blasting for Dying Fetus, Misery Index, and Chimaira speaks for itself, SIX FEET UNDER 2012 finds the band reinvigorated and churning out some of the most visceral, in-your-face, and downright horrifying tunes in their renowned discography of brutality both, lyrically and musically. Decibel Magazine said it best in their review for 'Undead': "this is the best thing SFU have recorded since Maximum Violence… [Chris Barnes] hasn't sounded this focused or committed in years." Listen and order HERE.

CATTLE DECAPITATION's 11-track album, 'Monolith Of Inhumanity', is an achievement that stands out as one of the most volatile, ambitious, and impossible-to-pigeonhole records of 2012. Commended by Stereokiller in an early review for being "their most focused and intelligent album yet… this is another solid CATTLE DECAP release that proves again that they are not to be fucked with," and noted for being >"arguably the quartet's strongest effort to date," by Blistering, the record was produced by Dave Otero of Denver's Flatline Audio and finds the progressive grind conjurers exploring innovative NEW techniques in song writing without abandoning their signature formula of confrontational audio wreckage. Make also sure to check out the band's latest video, the cinematic sickness entitled "Kingdom Of Tyrants" HERE!

SIX FEET UNDER: "18 Nights Of Blood Tour" To Be Ignited Tonight!

With nationwide speculation that the zombie apocalypse is officially upon us, it would only seem appropriate for SIX FEET UNDER's "18 Nights Of Blood Tour" to commence this Friday! The near three-week run of live rituals will begin today (June 8th) in Atlanta, Georgia and cannibalize its way across the U.S. coming to a close on the band's home turf of Tampa, Florida. Blood shall be spilled, faces eaten and brains devoured! No one is safe. SIX FEET UNDER will be joined by newly recruited rhythm guitarist Ola Englund who takes the place of Rob Arnold (who retired from touring). Support will be provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation.

The band will be touring in support of 'Undead', their latest installment of misanthropic brutality, which toppled Billboard charts upon its first week of release. ('Undead' entered the Heatseekers Chart at #, #30 on the Top Independent Album Chart, #22 on the Top Hard Music Albums Chart, #14 on the Top Current Albums Chart and #183 on the Top 200 Chart!). Critical lauded by fans and media alike, Decibel Magazine dubbed the record "the best thing SFU have recorded since 'Maximum Violence'," while Terrorizer commended the offering noting," …this is truly an unearthly noise and glorious in its heaving absurdity." Outburn agreed calling 'Undead', "an album on which this NEW level of musicianship adds value without tarnishing SIX FEET UNDER's legacy of brutality." Added MetalSucks thoughtfully: "What makes 'Undead' work is a balance between the tooth grinding intensity of its blasts and the bone-strewn muck of its down-tempo bits."

'Undead' was unleashed to North American ears via Metal Blade on May 22 and offers an updated lineup of Barnes alongside guitarist Rob Arnold (ex- Chimaira), longtime guitarist Steve Swanson (ex-Massacre), bassist Jeff Hughell (ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile), and drummer Kevin Talley (Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Chimaira).

DYING FETUS Gets Inducted Into Decibel Magazine's Hall of Fame! ; NEW Album Drops Soon!

With only weeks left before the release of their highly anticipated NEW album 'Reign Supreme', DYING FETUS have received the honor of being inducted into Decibel Magazine's "Hall of Fame" for their classic album 'Destroy the Opposition', which was released in 2000 on Relapse Records. The issue with this special retrospective will be on newsstands at the end of the week and can be ordered directly HERE.
'Reign Supreme' will be released June 19th on Relapse Records and is available for pre-order at the link below. 'Reign Supreme' features nine tracks and is a "return to roots" with production focused slightly more on slam than in the band's last few works. Thematically, the album is set to be a good old-fashioned piece of social and political commentary in the style of DYING FETUS as we have come to know.
The band recently completed work on a video for the song "Second Skin". The video was directed by Jakob Arevarn, who has also shot videos for Draconian, Vildhjarta and Carnal Forge. Look for the video to be premiered in the coming weeks.
DYING FETUS are offering a free download of the track "Subjected to a Beating" on their Bandcamp Page HERE.
Alternative Press is hosting a stream of the song "From Womb to Waste" HERE.
DYING FETUS will be on tour all summer long starting with the "18 Nights of Blood Tour" in North America with label mates REVOCATION and Six Feet Under. They will also be on a headlining European tour which includes appearances at the "Copenhell Festival" in Copenhagen, Denmark, "Hell Fest" in Clisson, France, the "With Full Force" festival in Roitzschjora, Germany, "Sevilla Rock Festival" in Sevilla, Spain and the "Getaway Rock Fest" in Gävle, Sweden.

SIX FEET UNDER Announce NEW Guitarist Following The "Retirement" Of Rob Arnold; 'Undead' Drops Today!

Death Metal ministers SIX FEET UNDER today announce the addition of rhythm guitarist Ola Englund to their legendary ranks. Englund, who will make his first official appearance with the band on the 18 Nights Of Blood Tour set to commence next month, takes the place of Rob Arnold.

Comments founding vocalist Chris Barnes of the new recruit:  “Ola is an amazing guitarist and was chosen for his superlative technique and style of playing. We believe he will be the perfect complement to Steve Swanson, and the devastating rhythm section that is Talley/Hughell. Steve, Kevin, Jeff and myself are so looking forward to Ola's entrance into the band upon the release of 'Undead' and the commencement of our first tour next month with Dying Fetus and Revocation. We can’t wait for you to witness the NEW killing machine that is SIX FEET UNDER! Ola takes over duties for our good friend and Death Metal warrior Rob Arnold who will be retiring from touring but will remain a central writing partner and fellow collaborator on future SFU releases. We are all sad to not have Rob on the road with us, but are confident and 110% psyched that Ola is now within the ranks of the 'Undead' and will be ready to lay waste to every stop along the way! Hails!”

Adds Englund: "When I got the call from Chris, it felt unreal; first thing that popped up in my head was, ‘why the hell did he want me -- the total gear nerd from Sweden -- to join his awesome band? To be able to share the stage with one of the biggest icons in Death Metal and the other killer musicians in SFU is a complete honor and a dream come true for me. I couldn't be happier about the situation! Also the NEW album blew my mind the first time I heard it, it's intense as hell, but still has the riffs and the grooves that SIX FEET UNDER swears by. Fans are going to love it! I’m looking forward to kick some serious ass together with Chris, Kevin, Steve and Jeff! See you on tour!"

Check out video footage documenting Englund’s guitar skills right here.

'Undead' was officially released in North America today via Metal Blade Records. Called “the best thing SFU have recorded since Maximum Violence,” in a recent 8/10 review by Decibel Magazine, the record was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver), mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy) and features the recording line up of Barnes alongside guitarist Rob Arnold (ex- Chimaira), longtime guitarist Steve Swanson (ex-Massacre), bassist Jeff Hughell (ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile), and drummer Kevin Talley (Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Chimaira).

To celebrate its release SIX FEET UNDER will slaughter souls on a near three-week run of live ceremonies this June. The 18 Nights Of Blood Tour will begin in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8. Support will be provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation.

Scheduled for North American release on May 22, 2012 through Metal Blade Records, 'Undead' was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver) and mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy) at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida. The record features an updated lineup of Barnes alongside guitarist Rob Arnold (ex- Chimaira), longtime guitarist Steve Swanson (ex-Massacre), bassist Jeff Hughell (ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile), and drummer Kevin Talley (Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Chimaira) and has already begun raising the ears of fans and critics alike. In an early review, Blistering.com commends the band for giving "meat-and-potatoes Death Metal a nice kick in the behind," PitRiff.com champions 'Undead' for being "powerful, musical and yet distinctly death metal," while PureGrainAudio opines: " …one of the world's biggest Death Metal acts is still a commanding force of sonic destruction." Adds Metal Assault in a 9/10 rating: "if you're into throat-grabbing riffs and groove-oriented extreme music… 'Undead' is right up your alley."

Stream 'Undead' in its relentless entirety at THIS LOCATION (courtesy of Decibel Magazine).

Recently, we had the chance to chat with Death Metal screamer/legend Chris Barnes from the mighty SIX FEET UNDER about the band's  forthcoming NEW full-length, 'Undead'. During the conversation, we chatted with Chris about how Cannabis aids his musical power and about all the touring plans that are on already scripted on the SIX FEET UNDER agenda. So grab your smoke, lay back, crank it up, and check out our interview with Chris Barnes from SIX FEET UNDER!!!

In conjunction with the release of 'Undead', SIX FEET UNDER will demolish the masses on a near three-week run of live rituals this June. Dubbed the "18 Nights Of Blood Tour", the journey will begin in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8. Support will be provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation. Comments Barnes: "We want to get out there and pretty much destroy. We want to play to as many people as possible, and show all of the fans out there the new songs, and leave nothing but a trail of blood in our wake. We're hoping that whoever makes body bags are upping their output, because after this record comes out there'll be a lot of decomposing bodies out there!
