According to TheHighwayStar.com, members of DEEP PURPLE joined forces in a Russian studio to rehearse for their upcoming tour (Tour dates & tickets HERE). Bassist Roger Glover spoke to ITAR-TASS. Here are the highlights of this conversation:

- There are 14 tracks ready for the new album, probably 11 or 12 of them will pass the final selection and end up being released.

- Release date being considered is somewhere in mid-February 2013.

- There are several album titles being considered, but for now they shall remain secret.

- Regarding connection with Bob Ezrin: Steve Morse met him back when he was in Kansas.

- The band wanted to perform new tracks on this tour, but its management and the record company opposed due to fear of reduced record sales.

As previously reported, DEEP PURPLE is among 15 finalists for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's Class Of 2013.

For the first time, the public gets to vote alongside the artists, historians and music industry insiders of the Rock Hall voting body. From now until December 5, fans can vote on RollingStone.com for the nominees they'd like to see inducted. The top five acts will comprise a "fan's ballot" that will count as one of the more than 600 ballots that determine the Class Of 2013. The results will be announced in mid-December.

The April 18, 2013 event is set for Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, marking the first time the ceremony will be held in the city since 1993. HBO will tape the show for broadcast at a later date.

Comedy Skit Inspired By RUSH's Nomination For The 2013 Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame!

As previously announced, RUSH is one of 15 finalists for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's Class Of 2013.

A recent episode of the "This Hour Has 22 Minutes", the long-running CBC series that jeers Canadian politics and current events, included a skit on RUSH's nomination for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's Class Of 2013. Watch it below.

The Canadian rock trio has been eligible for the honor since 1999, 25 years after the release of the band's self-titled debut album. "I'm really happy for the RUSH fans who feel that it is really important, and I hope we're inducted for their sake," RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson told NorthJersey.com. "Personally it never really mattered to me, but at the same time it's nice to be nominated."

According to Lifeson, the Rock Hall induction would pale in comparison to the band's having received one of the prestigious Governor General's Performing Arts Awards for Lifetime Artistic Achievement in March, the highest honor bestowed on artists by the Canadian government.

"The acknowledgement we got from the Canadian government, and by extension Canadians, is very dear to us," Lifeson said. "The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is more a popularity contest."

During a recent interview with Premier Guitar, RUSH's own Alex Lifeson has stated that Rush are into their final years as a touring band. As Classic Rock notes, the guitarist has cited the band’s other commitments outside of music, as well as drummer Neil Peart turning 60 years old as reasons that the band might not be around forever.

RUSH tour dates can be found HERE in support of their latest album, 'Clockwork Angels', run through December 2 - find a show near you!

'Clockwork Angels' is available everywhere now - grab a copy from the Roadrunner webstore!
