- He was born on December 8, 1973 in Des Moines, Iowa, United States.

- Taylor was raised by his single mother, since his father abandoned his mother right before she gave birth to him. Thanks to his success he was able to reconnect with his father on March 28, 2005 and establish a relationship.

- He is currently married to his second wife, and has two children.

- Stone Sour was established by Taylor in 1992, and ever since then the band has released three studio albums.

- Taylor joined Slipknot in 1997, after their original singer Anders Colsefni left the band to form Painface. Together with the rest of Slipknot, he has released four studio albums.

- Juggling between Slipknot and Stone Sour has been a challenge for Taylor, but so far he has managed to make both band International sensations.

- He has worked with several artists, including Junk Beer Kidnap Band, Apocalyptica, Anthrax, Aaron Lewis of Staind, and Soulfly.

An Evening With Corey Taylor in New York Rock City - Highlights + EXCLUSIVE images!

Last night (December 6, 2011), vocalist/songwriter/book writer/comic Corey Taylor from Slipknot and Stone Sour, paid an intimate visit to his New York City fans in an event dubbed as "An Evening With Corey Taylor". The event took place at the Highline Ballroom and it was in commemoration of the release of Corey's New York Times Bestseller book titled "Seven Deadly Sins: Settling the Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Good". After writing the book and voicing the audio book, Corey felt it was appropriate to present the book to his fans by having a solo tour that offers his fans a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Corey up close and personal.

The event was divided into 4 parts:

- An explanation by Taylor about his debut book "Seven Deadly Sins: Settling the Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Good".

- A book reading by Taylor.

- A Q & A session between Taylor and his fans.

- An acoustic performance by Taylor.

"My proudest moment in music was when I wrote 'Snuff'"!

"My opinion about 'Lulu'? Nobody better talk shit about Metallica in my presence. But I will reserve my comments about it."

"I am a very lucky guy! I get to be in two amazing successful bands! I released a book! And now I am starting a film company with Clown!"

Here are some of the highlights of the night:

- Taylor made it clear that Slipknot will not be releasing a NEW album in 2012, but that Slipknot will be performing in Australia in February, and in the US in the late summer as part of one of the summer festivals.

- He performed Alice In Chains' "Down In A Hole". Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" and Nine Inch Nails' "Something I Can Never Have".

- He was joined by NYC rocker Queen V in an awesome cover of AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds"

- The crowd jumping in one leg during his acoustic version of Slipknot's "Spit It Out".

- Corey Taylor wishes everyone a Merry Xmas even though he hates it, prove of this is his X-M@$ song (which he played as an encore).

Corey Taylor to Embark on Solo Tour at the End of the Month!

Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, has always pushed the envelope in order to achieve all of his dreams and aspirations. His latest venture was to write a twisted and demented book, voice the audio book, and now he is embarking on a solo tour in the United States in support of "Seven Deadly Sins: Settling the Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Good". The tour is scheduled to kickoff on October 22nd at the La Grange Festival in Bee Cave, TX (Austin), and will conclude on December 13th at The Social in Orlando, FL. List of tour-dates and ticket information can be seen below.

The idea for the tour sprang from an intimate set of UK gigs that Taylor recently played to launch his bestselling book "Seven Deadly Sins", as well as his speaking engagement at Oxford University this summer. Taylor will perform originals and some choice covers acoustically; will read selections from the book; and take questions from the audience. Billed as “An Evening With Corey Taylor," these shows will be a rare opportunity for many fans to interact with Taylor in this intimate a setting, and vice versa. This is what Corey Taylor had to say about his upcoming solo tour.

"I had so much fun doing this type of show in England that I just HAD to bring it to the States. It's gonna be one-part Henry Rollins, one-part Johnny Cash and probably a little heavy on the Monty Python. It's everything I love to do: singing, comedy and talkin' smack. Hopefully, the audience enjoys it as much as I do."

Armed with an acoustic guitar, a copy of his book, a microphone and his unflinching worldview and lacerating wit, Corey Taylor is coming to your town to spread the gospel as only he can and it will be a night fans won't soon forget. If you are looking to be fully entertained by one of the most gifted voices of the hard rock scene, this is a night you won't dare miss.

Taylor’s book, "Seven Deadly Sins: Settling the Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Good", is an outrageous manifesto on the nature of sin, offered in Taylor's unique and informed voice. The tome is now available in audio form, read by Taylor himself, and it features an action-packed ending not included in the print version. Seven Deadly Sins spent four weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list, and five weeks on the Times of London Best Seller list.

Corey Taylor Releases "Seven Deadly Sins" Audiobook & Announces "An Evening With Corey Taylor" Solo Performances!

"I always had a plan that if I didn't get to read it, I had three people that I wanted to read it: Morgan Freeman, Christopher Walken or Betty White. Those are my three that, I'm just like, I would love to have that happen. But I'm not gonna get out of it; I'm gonna have to read it myself. Which is fine, seeing as it's my kind of flow.

"People who know me, they call me and it's like, 'Dude, I can't get your voice out of my head when I'm reading this book. It's like I'm talking to you!'. And that, that's the best compliment I could ever get, you know, because that's really what it's supposed to be, is a conversation. It's supposed to be me trying to make a point and trying to make an argument, and apparently I've done pretty well."

Corey Taylor Records Audio Version Of 'Seven Deadly Sins'!

This summer, the very outspoken Corey Taylor from Slipknot and Stone Sour, released his first book ever titled "Seven Deadly Sins - Settling The Argument Between Born Bad And Damaged Good". While Taylor could have easily written an autobiography like other established artists do, he decided to write something very different. This is what he had to say about this:

“I’ve been threatening to write a book for a long time, but since every Tom, Dick and Harry writes an autobiography, I didn’t want to just do that. My approach to writing is the same as my approach to music: I don’t want to do what everybody else is doing.”

“Seven Deadly Sins” is Taylor’s candid, outrageous manifesto reflecting on the subject and nature of sin. The audio version of "Seven Deadly Sins - Settling The Argument Between Born Bad And Damaged Good" was released on September 26 in the U.S. and Canada. This is what Corey Taylor had to say about the recording process of his new audio book.
