Yesterday and part of today, the East Coast of the United States was struck by what we have dubbed as "FrankenSandy" (thanks Zulie Alvarez). While many places suffered the consequences of mother nature, the New York City metropolitan area was devoured by the strong winds and the massive amount of water those winds pushed into many parts of town. President Barack Obama has declared a federal emergency in New York City, Long Island and New Jersey.

In 2010 Horns Up Rocks has been part of some very uplifting events, that have helped reshape the driving force behind the Heavy Music underground scene = YOU! Without the fans none of this would make sense, and we would be writing meaningless words. All this sounds very peachy, but trust us, it takes a lot of dedication and hard work. This is why we decided to join "Brutal Bitches Productions" for what promises to be a night full of punishing brutality!
On December 3rd, the infamous Gleason's Bar in The Bronx (yes, The Bronx) will host a line-up featuring 4 extreme Heavy Metal bands. Additionally, Jo Schuftan (founder of Horns Up Rocks) will be on hand to host and DJ the event. Horns Up Rocks has been at the forefront of the Heavy Music scene in New York City, helping to promote new music and revitalize the passion for all things Heavy.

Resolution 15: We came across this band at the 1st No Mercy Metal Showcase, and were immediately hooked! In their own words: "Resolution 15 is a band whose sound is rooted in thrash metal, hardcore, punk, and classical music that uses violins in place of guitars to disseminate their egalitarian message of global change. Formed in 2007, Resolution15 released their self-titled debut to rave reviews (being featured on the front page of CD Baby for an entire month and in articles in numerous metal blogs) and quickly became a fixture in the New York metal scene." Everythings Ruined: This band represents the pulse of the Heavy Metal scene in The Bronx, and they are a head-banging guarantee! In their own words: "We formed. We rocked. We fell apart. Perish The Thought: Fresh Metal flesh out of New Rochelle, that promise to be a horrific experience. If you're still yet to see em, you must come head-bang to them and find out why they have taken New York City by storm. In their own words: "Metal from New Rochelle like an uppercut to your taint!" Carnage Krew: Headlining this brutal concert we got the well known party monsters and long time local favorites Carnage Krew! So come rage and let your voice be heard!
