As soon as we heard the iconic RAMONES song "Blitzkrieg Pop" on a Coppertone commercial, our ears started kicking our brain. That is the most un-Punk Rock thing we have ever witnessed!
Whoever made the decision to sell the rights of the RAMONES song to Coppertone for commercial use, will most likely get attacked by the ghost of Jeffry Ross Hyman (Joey Ramone). Watch the commercial at your own risk:

Joey Ramone Would Have Celebrated His 62nd Birthday Today - Tribute Available!
Today, in 1951, Jeffry Ross Hyman, widely known as Joey Ramone, was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York. Joey's legacy with his band THE RAMONES, is still alive and well even though he passed away on April 15, 2001, in New York City at the age of 49.
Joey's image, voice and tenure, is what made him a staple of the New York Punk Rock scene. He can actually be called the ambassador of CBGB's and is definitely one of the musicians to blame for the legacy that the venue managed to establish. To this day, musicians from all over the world study Joey's on stage presence in order for their own performances to be magical. Joey: you are missed!

Marky Ramone's BLITZKRIEG Announce New York City Gig, Andrew W.K. To Join Him!
Marky Ramone is best known for the 15 years he spent drumming for the legendary Punk Rock titans RAMONES. Prior to joining the RAMONES, Marky played with an array of influential musicians dating back to his high school years when he was a member of the Brooklyn based Hard Rock band, Dust. Recording two albums with his friends, Richie Wise (guitar and vocals) and Kenny Aaronson (bass) for Neil Bogart’s Karma Sutra/Buddha label.
In the spring of 1978, Marky joined the RAMONES. In a matter of weeks he was in the studio recording his first album with the band entitled, 'Road to Ruin', which features one of the biggest RAMONES hit songs “I Wanna Be Sedated”. The following year the RAMONES filmed the cult classic “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School”. Later that year, they joined forces with producer legend, Phil Spector to record 'End Of The Century'.
After several tours and a two more studio albums, Marky was asked to leave the band 1983, only to rejoin his band mates in 1987 until they decided to call it quits in 1996. His tenure with the RAMONES spanned a total of 15 years. Performing over 1700 shows and more than 15 releases, including songwriting credits on both Mondo Bizarro and Adios Amigos, the bands farewell release.
In February 2011 The RAMONES received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. It was the first Grammy for the Punk Rock pioneers.
On May 3, Marky Ramone's BLITZKRIEG will be performing at Santos Party House in New York City with Andrew W.K. (who owns the club) on vocals! Tickets available HERE!

ANTHRAX Announces "Ramones Style" Set For MAYHEM FEST - Details Available!
When Anthrax was given the choice of playing this summer's Mayhem Main Stage or the festival's Jägermeister Stage, the band opted to headline the latter, and to do something special for the crowd.
Explained Anthrax's Charlie Benante, "We decided to pattern the Mayhem set on the kind of shows The Ramones used to do: a high-energy, non-stop barrage of hit, hit, hit, hit, hit. No lulls, no filler, totally in your face. We're going to be playing a supersonic-paced set loaded with the best of our best."
"We really like the idea of not 'playing to seats,'" added Scott Ian, "and we want our crowd to have the freedom to move around, to go crazy with us. Plus, we've been on the road together now for about two years, so we're tighter as a band than we've ever been. Our Mayhem set will be a fun, fast and furious 45-minutes, so they'd better have the EMTs on hand."
Since vocalist Joey Belladonna rejoined the Anthrax line up a little more than a year ago, Anthrax - Belladonna/vocals, Charlie Benante/drums, Scott Ian/guitar, Rob Caggiano/guitar, and Frank Bello/bass - has made one of the most impressive comebacks in Rock N' Roll. As one of The Big Four, the original architects of speed and Thrash Metal, Anthrax joined Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth during the summer of 2010 on a series of Big Four shows in ten European cities, followed by a Big Four show outside of Los Angeles at the Coachella site (April 2011), and the big "homecoming" event for the New York-born-and-bred band members at Yankee Stadium last September.
The band released Worship Music on September 13, 2011, its first NEW album in eight years and the first with Belladonna on vocals in twenty years. 'Worship Music' debuted at #12 Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart, received stellar reviews that included being named one of the best albums of the year in media outlets such as Revolver, Guitar World, SPIN, Horns Up Rocks, Metal Assault, Metal Sucks, the UK's Classic Rock and Metal Hammer, Canada's Lithium, Lou Brutus' HardDrive, Eddie Trunk/VH1's "That Metal Show," and SiriusXM's Jose Mangin.
