Fans Set A Defense Fund For Harley Flanagan After He Stabbed Current Members Of The Band! Does He Deserve It?

This past Friday night (July 6th), the CBGB Fest show that was taking place at New York City's Webster Hall, was cancelled after two current members of the CRO MAGS were stabbed by Harley Flanagan (the founding member of the CRO MAGS). The incident occurred right after VISION OF DISORDER's set!

As see on the NY Post: Around 8:15 PM, while the CRO MAGS were getting ready to take the stage, Harley Flanagan, 42, made his way into the venue’s VIP section toward the bands dressing room, sending nearly 30 guests on the balcony into a frenzy, law enforcement sources and witnesses said.

According to the NY Post, William Berario, 45, was slashed above the eye and bitten on his cheek. Michael "The Gook" Couls, 33 (current CRO MAGS bassist & member of the DMS crew) was cut on his arm and stomach.

Following this ridiculous incident, friends and fans of former Flanagan have setup a legal defense fund. Harley is currently being held in New York for stabbing two people at CBGB Fest on Friday night.

From the donation page:

"On Friday July 6th,2012 an incident occured at Weber Hall. It involved Cro-Mags founder Harley Flanagan. All of the details aren't out, though certain stories are being bandied about in the court of public opinion. All of the details aren't going to get out, or get presented properly in a court of law if Harley doesn't get top notch legal representation. And he's going to have a nightmare mounting a defense rotting in the Tombs or Ricker's Island in lieu of bail.

"C'mon people, everybody knows Harley, he doesn't react short of reason. So he didnt just show up and do things because it was a dull Friday and he was bored.

"When I last heard anything from him, he's was exceedingly happy about passing his black belt test, and wasn't even discussing the Cro-Mags.

"Harley, no matter what you may think of him, has provided the NYC punk scene entertainment since his 1970's days in the Stimulators. The guy is a legend. And right now he's up against it big time, and needs a helping hand.

"If you can't contribute a lot, understood, everyone is tight these days, but you can still help by getting the word out. You can contribute as little as $10 to as much $1,000. We are trying to raise $50,000 for his defense. However we will be able to help him and his 2 little boys with whatever we do raise. Please give and spread the word. Thank you."
