A VOLBEAT Fan Dies At The Bands Concert In Lubbock, Texas - Details Available!

This is very sad. According to KCBD, a VOLBEAT fan passed away during the band's show in Lubbock, Texas. This is what happened:

Jubal Colvin (39), was denied entry to the show at the Lonestar Event Center. After being denied entry, he allegedly jumped a fence and entered the premises. As a result, some security guards attempted to remove him from the venue, but he ran away and ended up in a restricted area that was fenced off. According to Polica, he then fell approximately 20 feet from the hillside and struck his head on the concrete covered ground.

First responders gave Colvin CPR on the scene, and he was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Wes Nessman of FMX, which promoted the concert, said that Colvin "appeared to be drunk or had been drinking and was stopped at security for having a knife. At some point he got agitated and threw the knife at security and started running. He was told to stop several times by security and Police. He ran past several fences and barricades before either running off the roof or attempting to jump roof to roof.

"This was on a side of the property that is NEVER used and hasn't been used in about six years. This man was running from officials in a clearly off limits area."

KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Our condolences go out to Colvin's family and friends.

Randy Blythe's Lawyer: "We are now waiting for his release because the band has already collected the additional 200,000 dollars..."

As previously reported, Randy Blythe was arrested Wednesday (June 27) at the Prague airport on manslaughter charges. Blythe, 41, who was represented by two lawyers in court, is accused of causing the fatal injury that occurred at LAMB OF GOD's May 24, 2010 show in Prague. The singer apparently either pushed or struck a 19-year-old fan named Daniel who had come on stage, and that person died 14 days later of bleeding in the brain. Here is the latest in Blythe's criminal investigation:

According to iDNES.cz (Czech news network), a session behind doors was held yesterday (July 16) at the Prague Municipal Court regarding the Randy Blythe criminal investigation. The good news is that the court has dismissed the prosecution's motion to deny Blythe's bail.

Blythe's Czech attorney Martin Radvan spoke to Radio Prague about the singer's arrest in Prague last month on manslaughter charges.

"We are now waiting for his release because the band has already collected the additional 200,000 dollars, and only due to long travel time between the Prague Municipal Court and the court for Prague 8, we are still waiting," Radvan said. "Otherwise, he should have already been released."

When asked if Blythe will have to stay in the Czech Republic: "Everything indicates that he will be allowed to travel home. But he will have to come back either for further investigation or the trial, and that's what he wants to do. As a world-renowned artist, in a specific genre of music of course, he cannot afford to simply disappear. This is a wrong assumption by the Czech police and the Prague municipal prosecutor who still believe there is a possibility he will disappear and never show up again. But there would be posters with his picture all around the world, and if he wants to continue performing, he will have to return. And he wants to return because he believes he is not guilty of anything he has been charged with."

On the topic of why no one made any attempt to approach them after the incident — not even the police or the family members of the fan — in the two years following the concert in question, Radvan said, "I really don't know. Let me put it this way: nobody was expecting that, unfortunately, this young man Daniel Nosek would die a month after the concert. His father then spoke to the police who launched an investigation and called several witnesses who were at that concert. They also approached the U.S. Department Of Justice and asked them to take part in the investigation, which the department refused to do. Refusing to do so, they did not notify anyone from the band or the management, so no one really knew that investigation was underway, which I think is not something the U.S. Department Of Justice can be proud of.”

On how Randy Blythe is coping with being in jail: "Randy Blythe is an intelligent man, he writes songs and now in jail, he has started writing a book. As regards his Mongolian 'neighbor,' Mr. Blythe is not really learning Mongolian from him all the time; we just bought the guy a book of Sudoku so that Randy has a little more time to do things he wants to do."

On whether Randy has complained about the conditions in jail: "Not at all. He says he is being treated in a fair way, and he has no complaints whatsoever about the guards or anybody in the Pankrác prison. He realizes he cannot do anything about the fact that the prison is old... it's not a place where he would like to spend more time, but well, that's how it is."

LAMB OF GOD: Randy Blythe's Bail Is Doubled After Prosecution Is Overruled?! #Bullshit

As previously reported, Randy Blythe was arrested Wednesday (June 27) at the Prague airport on manslaughter charges. According to iDNES.cz (Czech news network), a session behind doors was held yesterday (July 16) at the Prague Municipal Court regarding the Randy Blythe criminal investigation. The good news is that the court has dismissed the prosecution's motion to deny Blythe's bail.

But yet again, the Czech authorities have thrown a dangerous curve ball at Blythe: they have doubled the money required for bail from $200K to $400 K! According to Blythe's legal team, this is equivalent to the salary that Blythe earns in two years.

So Blythe's nightmare is not over yet! As previously reported, the prosecution can still reject his bail and keep this case alive for as long as they want.

Blythe's next bail hearing is set for this Thursday (July 19), lets hope they release him from prison and that he can get back on the road with LAMB OF GOD!

Randy Blythe Speaks For The First Time About His Arrest In The Czech Republic!

Recently, Blythe spoke with Czech tabloid Blesk.cz about his arrest and how this past 3 weeks have been the longest in his life.

Blesk.cz:

What is your recollection of the incident that happened at club Abaton in Prague during Lamb of God's concert in May 2010?

Randy:

"I don't know anything about any sort of incident. I remember very few details about the show, mainly because I have played a lot of concerts. I just remember that the stage at the club was very small, and we barely managed to fit our equipment on there. Also, apparently there was a security guard there because many people climbed onto the stage — including one small boy, in particular, but I could be mixing up details with what happened at other clubs. Since I don't wear my glasses while performing, I see little more than blurry outlines. In any case, I did not attack anyone. The only way I could have come into contact with anyone from the audience was if I was protecting myself from [people bumping into me when climbing on the stage]."

Blesk.cz:

How are you spending time in custody and with your fellow inmates?

Randy:

"I read, I write letters to friends, family, and I also keep a diary. I get along very well with [my Mongol cellmate], and I am even trying to learn a bit of Mongolian. I'm starting to write a book about my time in the Pankrác prison and come up with lyrical ideas."

Blesk.cz:

Do you have reservations about cooperating with the Czech police and getting justice in your case?

Randy:

"As far as the police is concerned, I believe that they have acted very professionally and followed the principles of good conduct. But in terms of justice, I honestly do not know what to expect because it is different than the U.S. I thought that if I made bail, I would be released."

Blesk.cz:

On Wednesday (July 11), you received a visit from your wife. Are you getting a lot of support from your family and your fans?

Randy:

"My meeting with my gorgeous wife was beautiful and encouraging. I have received messages and support from family, my friends and my bandmates, who all missing me, and I cannot wait to see them all."

Blesk.cz:

You have made bail, and it appears that you will soon be released from prison. What are your future plans?

Randy:

"If I go back to the U.S., I will mow the lawn, spend some time with family and plunge right back into performing, so that I can pay for my legal fees. I have to help my friends earn some money so that we can live decently. If I had to stay in the Czech Republic, I would look at the sights, especially in Prague. I would follow Kafka's footprints and I would eat dumplings."

Blythe's next bail hearing is set for this Thursday (July 19), lets hope they release him from prison and that he can get back on the road with LAMB OF GOD!

Randy Blythe's Wife: "I miss him very much and I really hope I get to see him soon"

On Wednesday (July 11), Cindy Blythe (Randy Blythe's) was able to visit him for a few hours on in the Pankrác Prison in Prague, Czech Republic where he is facing manslaughter charges in connection with the death of a fan more than two years ago. Here is wht Cindy told reporters about her visit:

"It was really good to see him. I miss him very much and I really hope I get to see him soon, and that we'll be together again soon. So this was a special day, getting to see him."

She added, "I think it's terrible what happened — that the kid lost his life and his family lost him — but I believe [Randy] is innocent. That's what I believe."

Video footage of Cindy Blythe speaking to Czech reporters in Prague can be seen by following these links:

* Blesk.cz
* TV Nova

Earlier this week, a spokesman for the the Municipal Public Prosecutor's Office in Prague Štepánka Zenklová confirmed that the complaint was delivered to the Prague 8 district court this past Friday (July 6).

Another bail hearing will be held at the Municipal Court in Prague at a later date.

The cool folks over at the Gauntlet have EXCLUSIVELY obtained the charges from the court in Prague. The charge against Blythe is as follows:

"David R, B [Randy Blythe] was on 6/27/2012 charged with the severe crime of manslaughter under section 146, subsection 1 and subsection 2 (see below) which he could have committed on May 24, 2010 when he as the singer acting in the music club, after one of the listeners [Daniel Nosek] without permission climbed on the stage, pushed this observer in his chest. As a result of which this listener made a step back, stumbled over the guard rail, fell into the auditorium, hit his head on the floor and died a month later."

Is Randy Blythe being framed? We definitely believe so. The video of the incident (below) show very clearly that Daniel N. climbed numerous times (at least three) on stage and jumped into the crowd. Additionally, Blythe's "push" was assisted by the security guard.

"In watching the video, we see Daniel climb up on stage, grabbed around the waist by a security guard, thrown over the guard rail and hits his head in the barricade. This happens 90 seconds after the second time Daniel is pushed off the stage by venue security when he is near Randy Blythe. The injury to his head [skull fracture] is only consistent to the third time Daniel was on stage." - The Gauntlet

Czech law:

§146
Injury to health(1) Whoever intentionally injures another health shall be punished by imprisonment for six months to three years.
...
(4) imprisonment for five to ten years, the offender will cause the offense referred to in paragraph 1 death.

This facts should also be considered:

- There is no confirmation of whither or not the security guard (whose name can't be confirmed by anyone) has been called in for questioning.

- The ambulance that came to pick Daniel N. up on the day of the incident, took over an hour to arrive at the club. This was definitely what caused him to slip into a coma and eventually die was a traumatic brain injury, or TBI, since it was obviously a medical emergency that got treated too late. And how long did Daniel have to wait before he received treatment at the hospital?

Could Daniel have been saved with timely and proper treatment after being thrown from the stage? Absolutely!

LAMB OF GOD Release Official Statement Regarding The Fate Of Randy Blythe!

Here is an official statement from the band regarding this matter:

"First of all, thanks to everyone who has reached out in support of Randy and each of us in this terrible situation.  It’s noted and very much appreciated.

"We have been keeping our heads down and not speaking out due to the fluid nature of the situation and the constantly changing information that even we receive daily.

"Within an hour things can do endless 180’s. It’s maddening to try and make heads or tails.

"We’re taking the time to speak to you as it has been a significant period of time since this situation began and while nothing is immediately clear to any of us, we are not trying to keep anyone in the dark.

"We have reached out and are making use of the resources we have acquired to help our brother who is still detained in Czech jail.

"In the two years since, we were never notified of anything related to this incident.

"Randy is our brother and we assure you, we are all staying very positive for him, working endlessly behind the scenes to provide any and all assistance possible.

"The best we can do is to stay positive and continue to support our friend that we know is innocent.

"We know that justice will prevail and we will continue to do our part to support our friend."

LAMB OF GOD's Willie Adler Invites Fans To "Free Randy Blythe Vigil"; Donate Your Beer Money To Help Our Homeboy Out!

Earlier today (July 5th), LAMB OF GOD's Willie Adler (guitarist) posted the following message on his Facebook page:

"I want to thank all for the support first and foremost. I also want to share the link to the event this Sunday on Brown Island here in Richmond. An event spearheaded by Mr. Tommy Streat. It’s a get-together for all who care to attend to show support for our brother Randy Blythe, and to voice our concerns over the travesty of justice that is currently unfolding. I hope to see you all there."

The "Free Randy Blythe Vigil" will take place on Sunday, July 8 on Browns Island from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 PM in Richmond, Virginia. Click here to RSVP

LAMB OF GOD have posted the following message on their Facebook page:

"As many of you know, Randy is being held in Czech jail for a crime we believe he did not commit. We are still learning about the legal system there and the situation is fluid. We have retained local legal counsel, have support from the US Embassy and we are flying over additional lawyers to try and assure that Randy has the best representation possible. As many of you have pointed out, the simple fact is that the legal fees are adding up very quickly.

"While we appreciate the outpouring of support, we are not interested in trying to profit or gather press or sympathy from this event. We have assembled this page to make it possible for people that feel so inclined to donate to the expenses incurred in defending this case. One hundred percent of the money raised will go to the legal fees and any remaining balance will be given to a charity of Randy's choice upon his release."

Meet Randy Blythe's Alleged Victim Daniel N. (RIP); Bands Manager Is Confident That The Case Will Be Dropped!

According to Blesk.cz, the mother of Daniel N., who played guitar in a Czech metal band, is still coming to terms with her son's passing. A year after the 19-year-old's tragic death, she wrote on a social-networking site, "Approaching the date when you went to your last concert. I'm not gonna make it without you and I'm totally heartbroken. I hope we meet together soon. Life without you is miserable!"

A three-minute video report from Czech Republic's Prima TV featuring photos and video footage of the fan who died of fatal injuries allegedly sustained at a LAMB OF GOD concert more than two years ago can be seen below.

As the band's manager, Larry Mazer, told Rolling Stone on Tuesday, "We were told on Saturday that he had been approved by the judge for bail – $200,000 – and if we paid it, he would be released probably this morning. We all went to bed thinking that he would be out. I had flights booked for him to come back. And then at 4 o'clock this morning – because they're six hours ahead – I received a call from the lawyer in the Czech Republic telling us that the prosecution was challenging the bail, and because of that, he wouldn't be released today."

Mazer has spoken to Blythe's bandmates, and no one recalls the incident in question. "However, there are YouTube videos, which 100 percent show Randy's innocence. As a matter of fact, all of those videos have now been sent to our lawyer, and he's presenting it to the judge tomorrow morning [July 4th]. This case is so full of holes. Nobody reported an injury of any kind at the concert, or after the concert. It was at least an hour to two hours later, supposedly, when this kid went to a hospital.

"So that's number one – why did nothing occur during the show? Number two, he had supposedly been in a coma for 30 days, but it wasn't [until] a couple of months later that they contacted the promoter to ask his understanding of the events. He said the same thing – that the show went on fine, no nothing, no incidents. They told him that a person had been injured, which led to a death, which he had no knowledge of whatsoever. And then it went away. Two years go by, and Randy gets arrested."

LAMB OF GOD's Manager Talks About Randy Blythe's Arrest & Immediate Future!

Blesk.cz (Czech web site) conducted an exclusive interview with Larry Mazer (LAMB OF GOD manager) about the ordeal of Randy Blythe.

[Translation credit: Martin Lipták for his help with the Czech-to-English translation of the interview below.] Many thanks to Blabbermouth.net for posting the interview!

Blesk.cz:

What is the latest on Randy Blythe's release?

Larry Mazer:

"I have no idea. The bail [in the amount of $200,000] was posted Tuesday morning [July 3]. We tried to make bail on Monday, but everything took a bit longer to be processed. Randy should be released immediately. His lawyer told us so on Saturday [during a court hearing]. In the U.S., he would have been. You post the bail and you're free."

Blesk.cz:

How long will Randy stay in jail?

Larry Mazer:

"I was told that it may take up to 20 days — that the investigator may require more time to investigate the case."

Blesk.cz:

How have the other bandmembers reacted to this whole ordeal?

Larry Mazer:

"Everybody is shocked. It's absurd. It seems like a bad joke that Randy is sitting in your jail. He did nothing wrong. He is innocent."

Blesk.cz:

Were you aware that a Czech fan of LAMB OF GOD died two years ago shortly after attending the band's concert?

Larry Mazer:

"Nobody had contacted us in the last two years. My contact information is publicly available, but I never heard from the family [of the deceased fan]. We did not even hear anything about it from the concert organizer. Nobody called us to let us know."

Blesk.cz:

When did you first find out about the fan having died after allegedly sustaining injuries at the LAMB OF GOD concert?

Larry Mazer:

"Last Wednesday [when Randy was detained at the Prague airport]. The organizer of the concert at Abaton [the club where the 2010 concert took place] now says that the Czech police contacted him three months after the boy died. I do not understand why no one got in touch with us to let us know. The boy was in a coma and then he died, and we never heard from anybody."

Blesk.cz:

The Czech police say that they contacted the American authorities...

Larry Mazer:

"No one told us anything. Do you think that I would send the band to the Czech Republic to play a concert knowing that something like this could happen? No way!"

Blesk.cz:

According to the police, Randy shoved the Czech fan off the stage...

Larry Mazer:

"There is one video from the concert [see below] where you can see someone jumping into the audience. But it wasn't Randy that pushed him. The security guard shoved him off the stage."

Blesk.cz:

In the video you can see both Randy and the security guard pushing the person off the stage...

Larry Mazer:

"But there is no footage of the man falling to the ground. He fell into the crowd, but you can't see that in the video."

Blesk.cz:

Is it common for LAMB OF GOD concerts to be so wild?

Larry Mazer:

"It's typical for rock concerts. People want to have fun. But nothing like this has ever happened at a LAMB OF GOD show before that I am aware of."

Randy Blythe Finally Makes Bail But Must Remain In Custody Until At Least Next Week?!

Earlier today (July 3rd), LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe posted 4 million Czech Koruna bail (approximately $200,000) but will remain in Czech custody for at least the next few days. In case you haven't heard, Blythe has been arrested in Prague, the Czech Republic, where he is accused of causing the death of Daniel L. at one of the band's shows in 2010.

So why will Blythe remain in custody until next week? Due to statutory deadlines and the two-day holiday in the Czech Republic at the end of this week, Blythe — who still hasn't been officially charged in the case — won't see his release until sometime next week.

According to judge Petr Fassati of Prague 8 district court, the prosecutor has three working days to decide whether to approve Blythe's release. Since Thursday and Friday are public holidays in the Czech Republic, the deadline for the prosecutor to make a decision regarding a possible release is Monday, July 9. Even if the prosecutor was to make his/her decision today regarding a possible release, Blythe would not be able to leave the country until next week because the court has another three days to provide an official comment on the prosecutor's approval. If the prosecutor was to oppose Blythe's release, an official complaint would be sent to the municipal court. If both the court and the prosecutor agree to oppose Blythe's release, the bail would likely be canceled and returned to the singer.

GWAR's Oderus On The Arrest Of Randy Blythe: "The whole of music media should come the f&*k out and condemn this arrest and detainment."

GWAR's frontman Oderus Urungus is famous for speaking his mind without any sort of filter. Oderus happens to be a good friend of LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe and had this to say about how U.S. Media has handled the arrest of Blythe.

In a series of tweets, Oderus wrote, "[I am] waiting anxiously to hear the fate of the human Randy. He is a honorary slave who has died for GWAR many times. [I am] alarmed by the lack of outrage in the entertainment community. If this was a pop artist, the media would be all over this. That's right — I am fucking appalled at the LACK of concern in the U.S. media for the fate of Randy Blythe… Naw, just because Randy is in a nasty metal band, you can just throw his ass in jail anytime you want. The whole of music media should come the fuck out and condemn this arrest and detainment. This whole thing stinks of a shakedown. And for all you Blythe haters, eat a bowl of dick. Randy is one of the coolest mofos on the planet. Don't be hating, that's my job. Where are the leaders of the American metal community voicing outrage about the idiotic arrest of one of our own… SHAME on you, rock star!"

As of yesterday (July 2nd), Randy Blythe's bail money has not yet arrived at the court account. LAMB OF GOD's management is attempting to transfer the funds as soon as possible. Once the bail has been met, the prosecutor will have to approve Blythe's release before he can leave the prison. Otherwise, the court will determine the conditions of the singer's release.

Judge Petr Fassati of Prague 8 district court stated: "There may well be certain conditions placed upon [Blythe's] release, such as staying in the Czech Republic, or the availability of a specific address. If the conditions are violated, it could lead to an international arrest warrant being issued."

Last night, 4 of 5 members of LAMB OF GOD — everyone except singer Randy Blythe — returned home to Richmond, Virginia, less than four days after Blythe was taken into custody in Prague, Czech Republic in connection with the death of a fan more than two years ago. Mark Morton (guitarist) posted the following twit:

"Finally HOME! 4/5 of us anyway. I can't wait to give Randy a big bear hug and kiss his pointy, stubbly face! Thanx for all the support y'all! Flooded with questions about Randy.
