BATTLECROSS Needs Your Help Funding Their Dream Tours!

Michigan's BATTLECROSS (the Blue Collar Trash Metallers) keep proving to everyone that they have a brilliant future ahead. Not only do they display hard hitting musical vibrations that make ANY room shake, but they absolutely possess the right mind set and attitude to be a force to be reckoned with in the Heavy Music planet. But as an upcoming band, the money to fund bigger and better tours is simply not there. This is why they need your help funding the basic costs that a touring band requires. Read on...

"BATTLECROSS is a Heavy Metal Thrash band of five hard-working guys from Detroit and we're honored by the friendship and support from all of you. We're proud that you like our music and buy our merch and your support is paying off in so many ways with these great tours and opportunities that we've landed. We owe it all to you! We were signed to Metal Blade Records in 2011 and have released one album, 'Pursuit of Honor', which has produced singles that have ranked #1 and the top ten of most requested metal tracks in North America on SiriusXM Satellite Radio.

"We're on the verge of some VERY big things---events that every Heavy Metal band has dreamed of. In the next few months, we'll be playing with bands like Anthrax and Hatebreed at the New England Metal Fest in April, at Orion Music + More with Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers in our home town of Detroit in June, and we were just announced to play a tour that could really give our band the break that we've been working towards for our whole life: the 6th Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest with Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Machinehead, Amon Amarth and some of the most popular acts in hard music today.

"The Mayhem Fest tour lasts 30 days and will take us all over the United States of America. The week that the tour starts, we will be releasing our NEW album, our follow up release to 'Pursuit of Honor'. This is a crucial time for the band, with the expenses associated with recording on a small recording budget, and the cost of going on a tour of this magnitude, we need to be in a position to afford to do this. We no longer can hold jobs at home, so we must work to make music our career.

"We've made great sacrifices to make BATTLECROSS grow, much like the sacrifices and stories of perseverance that we convey through our lyrics and energetic style. We've lost jobs, sold personal items, and have done whatever it took to make our dreams come true. This tour is no different!

"Touring is very expensive. On our last tour, we spent almost $10,000 in gas alone. After the tour, we traveled straight to Florida for six weeks (where we are now) to record the next album and have incurred a lot of expenses getting our members to and from the studio, while bringing in no income.

"This tour will be even more difficult as we are a NEW band and our per-show guarantees still don't cover the costs of the $1,000 + needed per day for gas/transportation, the required liability insurance ($1,000+), the cost of a small crew to help on this size of a production ($3,000), buy our merch, merch tent, our personal and band monthly bills, advertising and more will cost the band upwards of $50,000 or more to go on this tour. We've committed to $25,000 ourselves between the nightly guarantees and our merch sales, but as a NEW band, we can't count on merch sale income, especially when we're playing with so many awesome bands. We'll need to raise the rest!

"But if you know us, you know that the thought of coming up with the remaining $25,000 won't stop us from taking this amazing opportunity. This tour will give us the exposure, fan base and attention that could launch us into a global band with a dream career and we'll do whatever it takes to get there!"

IKILLYA Need Your Help Producing Their NEW Album - Details Available!

Ever since our inception in early 2010, we have come across a lot of great bands within New York City Underground Heavy Music Scene. One band that is contributing to the growth of the scene by always delivering the goods is IKILLYA. Fronted by vocalist Jason Lekberg, the bands debut album "Recon" offers listeners a fresh sounding groove machine full of furious well polished songs.

Guess what? It is time for album number two! The album will be called 'Vae Victis' and you can help make it happen for this group of hard working musicians. The band has setup an Indiegogo campaign since they are a self funded band and producing a solid album costs a lot of money! Here is a collective statement from the band regarding their campaign:

"Hello friends. After much discussion and debate, we've decided to set this campaign up to help fund our upcoming album "Vae Victis" and the marketing around it. We're honored to have so many people who have given our band a chance over the past years and we're hoping that some of you will be interested in investing in our NEW album, or at the very least, pre-ordering it. We've put together a set of packages that we hope deliver real value as making sure those interested in supporting us are treated fairly is our prime concern.  If you'd like to invest in something you don't see here, please just let us know." - IKILLYA

PROTEST THE HERO Redefine "Do It Yourself" With Record Breaking Indiegogo Campaign!

When Canada's PROTEST THE HERO decided to go "Do It Yourself" (DIY) and raise the funds for their NEW record themselves via the crowd-funding website IndieGoGo, little did they know that would redefine DIY. The fundraising campaign reached its goal in less than 24 hours, and the campaign completion date still has 24 days to go.

The band recently fulfilled their contracts with record labels, which is why they turned to the crowd to fund their fourth full-length album. Within hours of launching, the band smashed through it’s $125,000 goal and is on its way to doubling that total (so far they have raised $227,470) — with the help of incredible, exclusive perks that have appeal to fans and haters alike!

The bands incentive: offering many 'perks' on the site that are only available during this time period and are exclusive to the campaign. They plan to go into the studio in March to record their fourth studio album. For information on the PROTEST THE HERO IndieGoGo project, go to www.Indiegogo.com/protestthehero.

Congrats to Protest The Hero and we hope many unsigned bands get inspired by this awesome DIY story!

BANGER FILMS (The Creators Of 'METAL EVOLUTION') Call To Arms To The Metal Family!

Due to an overwhelming demand from Metal fans worldwide, Grammy-nominated and Juno award-winning Banger Films is setting out to raise funds to make what has become known as "The Lost Episode" a reality. 'Metal Evolution: Extreme Metal' "The Lost Episode" covers co-director Sam Dunn's favorite genres: Death Metal, Black Metal and Grindcore, and he is reaching out to metal fans to help make it happen!

"Hundreds of fans have emailed us demanding, pleading, that we do this episode," says Banger Films co-founder Sam Dunn. "So in response we're launching an IndieGoGo campaign to raise funding within the Metal community to finance the episode. The goal is to raise $175,000 in 90 days!" The campaign kicked off Friday, September 14th. Details of the campaign, including cool donor gifts at various contribution levels can be found here: http://www.indiegogo.com/ExtremeMetal

Originally broadcast on VH1 Classic (USA) and Much More Music (Canada), Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn's series Metal Evolution presented 11 episodes based on their "Heavy Metal Family Tree" originally shown in their groundbreaking documentary, Metal: A Headbanger's Journey. Host and metalhead-turned-anthropologist Sam Dunn crisscrossed the globe exploring the vast history of Heavy Metal across its 40+ year history, covering everything from the Pre-History of Metal and Shock Rock to Grunge and Thrash Metal. But one very important episode was left out: Extreme Metal. Perceived to be perhaps too niche or "extreme" to attract enough audience interest, the episode did not see the light of day, ironic considering it is Heavy Metal's most vibrant and fastest growing genre.

"For many fans, including myself, extreme metal is massively important. It continues to push metal forward, both sonically and aesthetically," says Sam. Alex Webster, co-founder/bass player of death metal legends Cannibal Corpse, agrees: "There's really no way that you could tell the complete story of heavy metal without including a chapter that covers extreme metal. And given their knowledge, experience, and passion for the genre of heavy metal, I think that Banger Films are the most qualified people to do it!"

Contributors' support will send Sam on a global journey from San Francisco and Tampa to the United Kingdom, Norway and Sweden to investigate the history, myths and intricacies of extreme metal.  Sam will unravel the lineage between Extreme Metal's divergent branches - Death Metal, Grindcore and Black Metal - and meet with the sub-genre's most influential sonic architects, including members of Death, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Napalm Death, Entombed, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Enslaved and many more. The result will be an unforgettable portrait of metal's most iconoclastic sub-genre.
