RESOLUTION 15: Audio Stream Available Of Their NEW Single "The Current"!

RESOLUTION 15 recently released a brand NEW full-length album entitled 'Svaha' (available now on Bandcamp: http://resolution15.bandcamp.com/). Below is the first single out of 'Svaha' entitled "The Current".

'Svaha' was produced by Stacy O'Dell at Spin Studios & Riverfront Studios, and by Ryan Kelly at Nova and Big Blue Meenie Studios. The record was mastered by Chris Muth at Taloowa Mastering.

After a successful Kickstarter campaign designed to raise funds for its recording, the band’s NEW album 'Svaha' has finally arrived. Recording took place at Spin Studios and Nova Studios with Ryan Kelly and Stacy O’Dell as producers.

Track listing:

1. The Current
2. Anjaneya
3. In Full View
4. Sunday Bloody Sunday
5. Yama
6. Mr. Dark
7. Overdriven Maxim Mvt. 2
8. Kali

“‘Svaha’ means “So be it” in Sanskrit. The title is of dual significance to us,” states RESOLUTION15 electric violinist Earl Maneein. “The first is in regards to the spirit of how we recorded the album. Yes, the album was certainly edited, but it was more or less recorded in a “So be it” fashion with usually the second or third, and sometimes even the first complete take standing as the final cut. The second is in regards to our stance as a socially conscious band. The ideas we bring up lyrically deal with one's own inner turmoil and how that relates to worldly experience and action. ‘Svaha’ is the last word in the Heart Sutra, and it serves as a kind of “Amen”. So we would like the listener to feel like this is our sincere commentary on the world as it is through our eyes, and also encourage them to find their own awareness.”

In 2007, RESOLUTION15 released a self-titled debut and quickly became a fixture in the New York Metal scene, performing at countless shows and drawing fans and local press in with their unique sound. The band’s last EP, 'Satyagraha', was released in April 2010 with Corey Unger (guitarist of the seminal New England metalcore band Blood Has Been Shed) as producer.

RESOLUTION15 is:

-
Earl Maneein on 7 string electric violin
- Kenny Grohowski on drums
- Mike Bendykowski on bass
- Nick Serr on vocals.

Violin Metallers RESOLUTION 15 In Search Of NEW Bassist - Official Statement Available!

Violin Metal band Resolution15’s bassist, Jim Robertson has left the group to pursue other creative interests. The split was amicable.

“It makes me really sad to see Jim leave. His contributions to the band thus far have been enormous. However, he wants to be free to explore other avenues of music, as well as discover who he is personally as an artist. All of us respect his desire to pursue NEW artistic endeavors and wish him nothing but the best.” Earl Maneein, founder and violinist said.

Mr. Robertson’s departure is on the eve of the release of their NEW album “Svaha”, funded entirely on the Kickstarter platform, and the last album he contributed bass tracks to. He is also the bassist on their previous release “Satyagraha”. Expected tour dates are in the works.

The band is currently seeking a NEW bassist who "has a love for Metal but has an awareness and a respect of other kinds of music and a willingness to commit to touring obligations.” Interested parties can message the band directly through email or their Official Facebook Page Official Facebook page.

Violin Metallers RESOLUTION 15 Need Your Help; Join Their Kickstarter Campaign!

SVAHA - The next Resolution15 record:

We here at Resolution15 are kind of excited about the music business these days. Instead of having a cumbersome middleman (read: record label/ad firm) between musicians and their fans, we get to work with you directly. In this spirit, we named our next recording project "Svaha"; an offering from us to you, the music lover. And without a wall between us, we get to involve you in the process of bringing music to life. This is, in microcosm, what Resolution15 stands for: no walls between ourselves and the Truth or each other. But since bringing music to life in a way that it can be shared takes money, it works like this: you donate money, and we make our record. There are a lot of incentives here from great art to goofy experiences (in addition to the music itself!) which we hope will make participating in our project more fun than simply clicking a donate button. Our personal faves are the Alanna Kaivalya led private yoga class with us and dinner with Res15 prepared by MasterChef Season 2 Contestant and dear friend Monica Chung. This way we get to know you! And no one said you guys can't get together and pool your resources...Anyhow, click the links, click donate, and enjoy! SVAHA!

Open Denile - Song Premiere Of 'Vivid Degradation'!

During the last two years, the New York City Heavy Metal scene has been on the rise thanks to the multiple flavors that are found in the melting pot that is New York City. Today, the New York City Heavy Music scene is growing stronger than expected. One band that has been hard at work in helping to shape up the sound of New York Metal is Open Denile. A band that offers the listener a unique blend of Orchestral Deathened Metal! After many tedious months of hard work at the recording studio, Open Denile are ready to present the masses with their NEW album entitled 'Vision Of The Next Dimension'.

- Vital Statistics:

\m/ LINEUP:

- Stephen Kain: Lead Vocals & Keyboards
- Craig 'Blitzkrieg' Storer: Lead guitar & Clean Vocals
- Christian 'Chrizzle" Cedeno: Rhythm Guitar
- Bill Angelini: Drums

\m/ YEAR OF FORMATION: 2008

\m/ ORIGIN: New York City, New York

\m/ MISSION: To create an undeniable presence and to captivate any audience.

\m/ BIOGRAPHY:

Open Denile (originally known as Open Denial) came to life in 2008 and after undergoing a series of lineup changes, the band found their sound and image in 2009 when vocalist and keyboardist Stephen Kain joined the band.

One of the things that sets Open Denile apart from other New York City Metal bands, is that they have consciously adopted a musical style that blends European Metal with the NEW breed of American Metal in a very original and smart way.

From the moment they get on stage, these young guys jam their souls out and make sure that everyone's face are melted. Their is no doubt that this band works very hard at crafting their music and evidence of this is living and breathing on their NEW LP entitled 'Vision Of The Next Dimension'. This is evident when they take the listener through various Metallic passages during their well structured songs.

On 'Vision Of The Next Dimension', Open Denile is definitely taking a smart risk by writing longer songs than most up and coming bands, and this can only be accomplished thanks to their great musicianship. If you think about Old School Metal bands and compare them to newer bands, their songs are much better structured. How has this influenced the destructive sound of the band?

Well, all the members of Open Denile have very different musical influences and this makes them challenge each other when composing music. However, when it comes to Old School Metal they all agree that watching and learning from the legends of the genre, have helped them to shape up the overall sound of the band. This is really important because when you have musicians that have different procedures when writing music, it is essential to find that common ground in order to make sure that nothing clashes. If anything Open Denile is clashing the New York Heavy Music scene!

'Vision Of The Next Dimension' Tracklisting:

1) Decent Into Denile
2) Vivid Degradation
3) Pathogen Eradication
4) Perish
5) An Absolute Memory
6) Blessed
7) Immortalized In Denial

Video Premiere of "Eye For An Eye" by OLOM

OLOM is a band that is constantly redefining the direction of Heavy Metal. In the midst of soaring guitars, thunderous bass lines and gritty lyrics, they are tasteful and unpretentious. This is a group that is not afraid to take risks and fearless of saying the uncomfortable things. At ease with being themselves, OLOM is a psychological representation of all that is Metal.

Today we are proud to debut their brand new video titled "Eye For An Eye"! The video was shot and directed by Steve Lars and edited by Jo Schüftan of Horns Up Rocks!

- Vital Statistics:

\m/ LINEUP:

- Coy DeLuca: Vocals
- Richard Almady: Guitar
- Eddie Weber: Bass
- Aidan Shepard: Drums

\m/ YEAR OF FORMATION: 2010

\m/ ORIGIN: New York, New York

\m/ MISSION: To create a sonically dangerous musical experiment, which contrasts with mankind’s socio-psychological makeup.

\m/ BIOGRAPHY:

Just imagine wandering through the darkness and finding a pool of molten lava -- too hot to touch, but too insane to ignore. The pain involved in the reality of getting burned and the comfort of wounds being soothed. One could almost say that each track on their current CD is an exercise in how to push the limits of musicality, instrumentation and human tolerance. Be forewarned, the picture painted in your mind as you listen to the musical progeny of OLOM may challenge what you thought you believed.

NYC Heavy Metal Sensation 'Resolution 15' Occupy Wall Street!

As we all know, there is a revolutionary peaceful global movement taking place globally because the citizens of the world are fed up with the system! The "Occupy Wall Street" is an ongoing series of demonstrations that are taking place in New York City (based in Zuccotti Park in the Wall Street financial district), and were initiated by Canadian activist group Adbusters. Participants are mainly protesting social and economic inequality, corporate greed, and the power and influence of corporations, particularly from the financial service sector, and of lobbyists, over government (Source: Wikipedia).

Right now, similar demonstrations are being held in 70 major cities and over 600 communities in the U.S. Other "Occupy" protests have modeled themselves after "Occupy Wall Street", in over 900 cities worldwide.

Today, NYC Heavy Metal sensations Resolution 15 joined the "Occupy Wall Street" movement and performed a few of their songs in front of the masses. This does not surprise us at all, given that Resolution 15 has a strong political message within their lyrics and their overall message. Actually, Earl Maneein (Violinist) named the band after the Resolution 15, which was issued in January of 1959 by North Vietnam's Central Executive Committee, changing its strategy from “Political struggle” to "armed struggle".

The rest of Resolution 15 is compiled by Nick Serr (Vocals), Joel Lambdin (Violins), Kenny Grohowski (Drums), and Jim Robertson (Bass).

There are several remarkable things about Resolution 15's musical philosophy:

- The most remarkable characteristic is that this band has completely eliminated guitars from their line-up.

- Resolution 15 uses custom made 7-string electric violins to achieve the intensity and heaviness that guitars offer in Heavy Metal.

- Their music is realized on these unique instruments, and because of that they are able to pull away from simply playing guitar driven metal riffs on acoustic instruments.

- They realize this new sound by translating some aspects of Metal guitar playing, and merging these with the inherent strengths of bowed strings, and finally super-charging that sound through guitar heads and cabinets.

The band will be occupying The Studio at Webster Hall on Friday, November 18th, 2011 in New York City for Thanksgiving METAL Feast (Presented by Horns Up Rocks). Click here for ticket information.

Resolution 15 is Revolutionizing Heavy Music On and Off Stage

In times when there is a flood of bands in the Heavy Music world that are attempting to swim to shore, there are very few bands that offer the musicality, the intensity, and the vibe that Resolution 15 from New York City is offering at currently. Added to this is how well they blend their crushing music together and always present to the masses a powerful message.

Recently the Resolution 15 guys, Nick Serr (Vocals), Earl Maneein and Joel Lambdin (Violins), Kenny Grohowski (Drums), and Jim Robertson (Bass), decided to record a series of single track recordings. The concept behind "The Svaha Sessions" is to present to the listener a raw, organic, and versatile recording. In times when a lot of bands are being over produced, Resolution 15 is letting their music speak for them and not Captain Pro Tools.

Tomorrow (July 5), they are presenting the second track out of the "The Svaha Sessions" (available here), this time they decided to record their own version of U2's anthem "Sunday Bloody Sunday". Produced by Ryan Kelly (Opeth, Winds of Plague, Beyonce etc.), it will be available for only $1.00 at their Bandcamp website.

There are several remarkable things about this release and about Resolution 15's musical philosophy:

- The most remarkable characteristic is that this band has completely eliminated guitars from their line-up.

- Resolution 15 uses custom made 7-string electric violins to achieve the intensity and heaviness that guitars offer in Heavy Metal.

- Their music is realized on these unique instruments, and because of that they are able to pull away from simply playing guitar driven metal riffs on acoustic instruments.

- They realize this new sound by translating some aspects of Metal guitar playing, and merging these with the inherent strengths of bowed strings, and finally super-charging that sound through guitar heads and cabinets.

- The next, and perhaps most interesting item is that they are recording live in-studio to 2” analog tape. In an age of digital sound-replacement, beat detection, unlimited undo, and compulsive editing, they are instead minimizing edits and going for full takes. Like it’s meant to be.

“I don’t take on many Metal projects these days”. I miss hearing a recording back from tape and knowing it was actually performed instead of constructed. I think recordings can lose a lot without the live aspect. Music is collaborative, and I feel recorded music should reflect that. Resolution 15 is a group of musicians that can deliver a solid live performance and I wanted to convey that with these recordings.” - Ryan Kelly (Producer)

“We are really happy with how it turned out. We have never recorded all together in this way, and we were a little nervous about it. But we feel like we’re on the right track. We know what we need to do.” - Nick Serr (Vocalist)

"It’s good to be free from the album format for a while. There’s nothing wrong with it, but we can change the way we do things for each track if we want to, and not worry about losing the continuity you expect on an album.” - Earl Maneein (Violinist)

What we find real interesting and exciting about "The Svaha Sessions" is that the band can keep up with the demand of their fans by releasing new material constantly, instead of making them wait for a full-length release and then they might lose momentum. Also, with single tracks far outstripping full-length records in sales, there has to be a good reason to do a whole album. By no means is Resolution 15 eliminating the idea of releasing another full-length, they simply are offering their fans something of quality and musically interesting to listen to more often.

The bands next live performance will be on July 8th, 2011 at the Mercury Lounge in New York City .

The State of the New York City Heavy Music Scene

After a long dry period, we are very proud to announce that the headbangers of New York City are uniting and are taking every step necessary to make the NYC Heavy Music scene stronger than all. During the last year their has been a new breed of bands, who collectively are keeping the fans hungry for more intensity. Whither it is Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Hardcore, Punk Rock, or Alternative music, everyone is coming together and supporting each other! What's really exciting, is that not only are the fans packing the venues for the national bands, but also for the up and coming Heavy Music underground bands. Even though New York City has always been known as a great market for the heaviness, there used to be a huge gap between the different scenes. Now we are all uniting and becoming one!

Here is a rundown of different bands that are making positive noise and helping to shape up the present and the future of the New York City Heavy Music scene:

\m/ The Judas Syndrome: One of the hardest working bands in the scene, their furious blend of Thrash Metal and Hardcore has helped them to establish themselves as one of the bands with the biggest potential to reach the next level of success. Evidence of their musical growth is that they have been asked to open for International artists such as Nile, Despised Icon, The Acacia Strain, Vision of Disorder, Sworn Enemy, Your Demise, Pro-Pain, D.R.I and more.

\m/ Killcode: Solid Hard Rock band with the potential of becoming a national success. Their music combines elements of Southern Metal with old school Rock N' Roll. They recently opened for Filter and Powerman 5000, and the respond of the crowd made it clear that these guys are ready to spread the code. This summer they will be heading to the Middle East and Africa to bring the Rock to the troops.

\m/ Desolate: Celebrating 10 years of furious cowbell, Desolate are to blame for the current rise of the New York City Heavy Music scene. Their attitude and musical power has re-ignited the scene and they are living proof that no obstacle is big enough for any New York City band.

\m/ Misery: 10 years in the making, Misery recently toured the entire country with Devildriver. Their precise music is not for the weak. Misery possess the right sound and attitude that is key for any band to step to the next level of success.

\m/ PUI: Probably one of the most original bands in the country, the PUI tribe combines mediterranean music with hard hitting Rock music. Their stage show is like no other and their socially conscious lyrics definitely sets them apart. Lead by NC Shuva, PUI stands out for being a professional band with a serious mission: to change music forever.

\m/ Resolution 15: Risky music with a political message that does not distract from their furious Violin Metal. This band combines great talent with very well structured music. Who needs guitars when you have violins that penetrate your soul and crush it to pieces?

\m/ Charetta: Sweet rocking music that has quickly won over the hearts of fans all over the New York City metro area. Their mission has always been to create rocking tunes that touch the souls of those who want to experience a different sonical roller-coaster. This is a band to keep an eye one, but don't even try gripping on them because they will soon be all over the place rocking out.

\m/ IKILLYA: Bringing a lethal dose of adrenalized Metal, Ikillya are a Heavy Metal band that is not afraid of adding different sense-full sounds to their mix. Without following any musical formulas, they have managed to indulge their fans into a musical frenzy. Once you hear Ikillya, you will understand that their music is the equivalent of sparking a stick of dynamite and hearing it explode!

\m/ King Hell: Describing this band is very hard thanks to the different facets that exist within their music. Their well crafted music combines elements of Metal, Funk and Punk Rock. Add a little humor to it, and you have a recipe to a rocking time.

\m/ Slam One Down: This party Metal band take their music very serious but still manage to have a lot of fun while doing so. Their Groove Metal brings any show to life. After recently opening for Unearth, God Forbid, Merauder, and Bleeding Through. Let us warn you that if this band is coming to your town, get ready for some ear piercing songs that groove your soul and crush your face.

\m/ The August Infinity: Fresh alternative music that drives the girls absolutely insane. These guys are very dedicated to their music and have quickly become a familiar face within the New York City Heavy Music scene.

\m/ Alekhine's Gun: One of the newest members of the Metallic family, this band always feeds their fans with some punishing brutality. Lead by Jessica Pimentel, Alekhine's Gun have one of the most solid lineups in the scene. There is no doubt that if this band remains focused on their musical craft, the future should be very interesting for this Heavy Music machine.

\m/ Panzie: A band with a lot of power, attitude and good music. During the last year they have been working very hard on their next chapter. Make sure that if you open the Panzie book that you buckle up! Their badass Hard Rock grabs you by the balls and doesn't let go.

\m/ Fall Of The Albatross: Probably the most original band at the moment, these guys have many flavors and some how manage to blend Metal, Jazz, Tropical, Urban and Emo into one chaotic band. Step by step, Fall of the Albatross are becoming a force to be reckoned with.

\m/ Severed: Organic mix of Heavy Metal and Hardcore that perforates ear drums if handled without care. After a very active 2010, the band is currently focusing on their next musical takeover.

\m/ Hung: The crushing vibe that this band possesses is undeniable. Their music is like nothing you have ever heard before and their meticulous sounds create a brutal display of annihilation. Watch out for Hung because they have a very bright future ahead.

\m/ The Resurrection Sorrow: Groovy dark Hard Rock that makes anybody start headbanging uncontrollably. Another hard working band that is very focused on getting to a new level of confidence and power.

\m/ Empyreon: Full blown epic Heavy Metal that catches your attention and consumes you like the devil. This band combines elements of American and European Metal without being cheesy at all. Seeing them perform live is quiete the spectacle.
