New York Metallers LIES BENEATH Are Hiring!

Our good friends from LIES BENEATH are currently seeking for a NEW lead guitarist. From our personal experience, not only are the LIES BENEATH boys a really talented group of cool guys but they also take their band very seriously. They always deliver the goods while on stage, and are usually the first band to arrive at the shows that they are part of. With that said, only contact them if you are serious about your music.

“Lies Beneath is officially looking to hire a NEW lead guitarist. Since this past summer, we’ve been writing NEW material and have begun to focus our sights on our next full-length record. We feel that the NEW songs represent a shift in our consciousness, as well as the next step in our evolution as a band. The songs are heavier, grittier, and take a few more risks than the material on our last record. We’re looking not only for a versatile guitarist who will compliment our sound, but someone like-minded who will join us on the journey ahead. We’ll be holding auditions, most likely on a case-by-case basis. Our goal is to have someone NEW join the ranks by this spring, in time for us to begin tracking the NEW material, which is already in pre-production.”

- Nick Serr (vocals)

RESOLUTION 15: Audio Stream Available Of Their NEW Single "The Current"!

RESOLUTION 15 recently released a brand NEW full-length album entitled 'Svaha' (available now on Bandcamp: http://resolution15.bandcamp.com/). Below is the first single out of 'Svaha' entitled "The Current".

'Svaha' was produced by Stacy O'Dell at Spin Studios & Riverfront Studios, and by Ryan Kelly at Nova and Big Blue Meenie Studios. The record was mastered by Chris Muth at Taloowa Mastering.

After a successful Kickstarter campaign designed to raise funds for its recording, the band’s NEW album 'Svaha' has finally arrived. Recording took place at Spin Studios and Nova Studios with Ryan Kelly and Stacy O’Dell as producers.

Track listing:

1. The Current
2. Anjaneya
3. In Full View
4. Sunday Bloody Sunday
5. Yama
6. Mr. Dark
7. Overdriven Maxim Mvt. 2
8. Kali

“‘Svaha’ means “So be it” in Sanskrit. The title is of dual significance to us,” states RESOLUTION15 electric violinist Earl Maneein. “The first is in regards to the spirit of how we recorded the album. Yes, the album was certainly edited, but it was more or less recorded in a “So be it” fashion with usually the second or third, and sometimes even the first complete take standing as the final cut. The second is in regards to our stance as a socially conscious band. The ideas we bring up lyrically deal with one's own inner turmoil and how that relates to worldly experience and action. ‘Svaha’ is the last word in the Heart Sutra, and it serves as a kind of “Amen”. So we would like the listener to feel like this is our sincere commentary on the world as it is through our eyes, and also encourage them to find their own awareness.”

In 2007, RESOLUTION15 released a self-titled debut and quickly became a fixture in the New York Metal scene, performing at countless shows and drawing fans and local press in with their unique sound. The band’s last EP, 'Satyagraha', was released in April 2010 with Corey Unger (guitarist of the seminal New England metalcore band Blood Has Been Shed) as producer.

RESOLUTION15 is:

-
Earl Maneein on 7 string electric violin
- Kenny Grohowski on drums
- Mike Bendykowski on bass
- Nick Serr on vocals.

Violin Metallers RESOLUTION 15 In Search Of NEW Bassist - Official Statement Available!

Violin Metal band Resolution15’s bassist, Jim Robertson has left the group to pursue other creative interests. The split was amicable.

“It makes me really sad to see Jim leave. His contributions to the band thus far have been enormous. However, he wants to be free to explore other avenues of music, as well as discover who he is personally as an artist. All of us respect his desire to pursue NEW artistic endeavors and wish him nothing but the best.” Earl Maneein, founder and violinist said.

Mr. Robertson’s departure is on the eve of the release of their NEW album “Svaha”, funded entirely on the Kickstarter platform, and the last album he contributed bass tracks to. He is also the bassist on their previous release “Satyagraha”. Expected tour dates are in the works.

The band is currently seeking a NEW bassist who "has a love for Metal but has an awareness and a respect of other kinds of music and a willingness to commit to touring obligations.” Interested parties can message the band directly through email or their Official Facebook Page Official Facebook page.

Violin Metallers RESOLUTION 15 Need Your Help; Join Their Kickstarter Campaign!

SVAHA - The next Resolution15 record:

We here at Resolution15 are kind of excited about the music business these days. Instead of having a cumbersome middleman (read: record label/ad firm) between musicians and their fans, we get to work with you directly. In this spirit, we named our next recording project "Svaha"; an offering from us to you, the music lover. And without a wall between us, we get to involve you in the process of bringing music to life. This is, in microcosm, what Resolution15 stands for: no walls between ourselves and the Truth or each other. But since bringing music to life in a way that it can be shared takes money, it works like this: you donate money, and we make our record. There are a lot of incentives here from great art to goofy experiences (in addition to the music itself!) which we hope will make participating in our project more fun than simply clicking a donate button. Our personal faves are the Alanna Kaivalya led private yoga class with us and dinner with Res15 prepared by MasterChef Season 2 Contestant and dear friend Monica Chung. This way we get to know you! And no one said you guys can't get together and pool your resources...Anyhow, click the links, click donate, and enjoy! SVAHA!

NYC Heavy Metal Sensation 'Resolution 15' Occupy Wall Street!

As we all know, there is a revolutionary peaceful global movement taking place globally because the citizens of the world are fed up with the system! The "Occupy Wall Street" is an ongoing series of demonstrations that are taking place in New York City (based in Zuccotti Park in the Wall Street financial district), and were initiated by Canadian activist group Adbusters. Participants are mainly protesting social and economic inequality, corporate greed, and the power and influence of corporations, particularly from the financial service sector, and of lobbyists, over government (Source: Wikipedia).

Right now, similar demonstrations are being held in 70 major cities and over 600 communities in the U.S. Other "Occupy" protests have modeled themselves after "Occupy Wall Street", in over 900 cities worldwide.

Today, NYC Heavy Metal sensations Resolution 15 joined the "Occupy Wall Street" movement and performed a few of their songs in front of the masses. This does not surprise us at all, given that Resolution 15 has a strong political message within their lyrics and their overall message. Actually, Earl Maneein (Violinist) named the band after the Resolution 15, which was issued in January of 1959 by North Vietnam's Central Executive Committee, changing its strategy from “Political struggle” to "armed struggle".

The rest of Resolution 15 is compiled by Nick Serr (Vocals), Joel Lambdin (Violins), Kenny Grohowski (Drums), and Jim Robertson (Bass).

There are several remarkable things about Resolution 15's musical philosophy:

- The most remarkable characteristic is that this band has completely eliminated guitars from their line-up.

- Resolution 15 uses custom made 7-string electric violins to achieve the intensity and heaviness that guitars offer in Heavy Metal.

- Their music is realized on these unique instruments, and because of that they are able to pull away from simply playing guitar driven metal riffs on acoustic instruments.

- They realize this new sound by translating some aspects of Metal guitar playing, and merging these with the inherent strengths of bowed strings, and finally super-charging that sound through guitar heads and cabinets.

The band will be occupying The Studio at Webster Hall on Friday, November 18th, 2011 in New York City for Thanksgiving METAL Feast (Presented by Horns Up Rocks). Click here for ticket information.

Resolution 15 is Revolutionizing Heavy Music On and Off Stage

In times when there is a flood of bands in the Heavy Music world that are attempting to swim to shore, there are very few bands that offer the musicality, the intensity, and the vibe that Resolution 15 from New York City is offering at currently. Added to this is how well they blend their crushing music together and always present to the masses a powerful message.

Recently the Resolution 15 guys, Nick Serr (Vocals), Earl Maneein and Joel Lambdin (Violins), Kenny Grohowski (Drums), and Jim Robertson (Bass), decided to record a series of single track recordings. The concept behind "The Svaha Sessions" is to present to the listener a raw, organic, and versatile recording. In times when a lot of bands are being over produced, Resolution 15 is letting their music speak for them and not Captain Pro Tools.

Tomorrow (July 5), they are presenting the second track out of the "The Svaha Sessions" (available here), this time they decided to record their own version of U2's anthem "Sunday Bloody Sunday". Produced by Ryan Kelly (Opeth, Winds of Plague, Beyonce etc.), it will be available for only $1.00 at their Bandcamp website.

There are several remarkable things about this release and about Resolution 15's musical philosophy:

- The most remarkable characteristic is that this band has completely eliminated guitars from their line-up.

- Resolution 15 uses custom made 7-string electric violins to achieve the intensity and heaviness that guitars offer in Heavy Metal.

- Their music is realized on these unique instruments, and because of that they are able to pull away from simply playing guitar driven metal riffs on acoustic instruments.

- They realize this new sound by translating some aspects of Metal guitar playing, and merging these with the inherent strengths of bowed strings, and finally super-charging that sound through guitar heads and cabinets.

- The next, and perhaps most interesting item is that they are recording live in-studio to 2” analog tape. In an age of digital sound-replacement, beat detection, unlimited undo, and compulsive editing, they are instead minimizing edits and going for full takes. Like it’s meant to be.

“I don’t take on many Metal projects these days”. I miss hearing a recording back from tape and knowing it was actually performed instead of constructed. I think recordings can lose a lot without the live aspect. Music is collaborative, and I feel recorded music should reflect that. Resolution 15 is a group of musicians that can deliver a solid live performance and I wanted to convey that with these recordings.” - Ryan Kelly (Producer)

“We are really happy with how it turned out. We have never recorded all together in this way, and we were a little nervous about it. But we feel like we’re on the right track. We know what we need to do.” - Nick Serr (Vocalist)

"It’s good to be free from the album format for a while. There’s nothing wrong with it, but we can change the way we do things for each track if we want to, and not worry about losing the continuity you expect on an album.” - Earl Maneein (Violinist)

What we find real interesting and exciting about "The Svaha Sessions" is that the band can keep up with the demand of their fans by releasing new material constantly, instead of making them wait for a full-length release and then they might lose momentum. Also, with single tracks far outstripping full-length records in sales, there has to be a good reason to do a whole album. By no means is Resolution 15 eliminating the idea of releasing another full-length, they simply are offering their fans something of quality and musically interesting to listen to more often.

The bands next live performance will be on July 8th, 2011 at the Mercury Lounge in New York City .
