As previously reported, Jon Bon Jovi is currently touring without his guitarist Richie Sambora who allegedly is going through rehab again. Bon Jovi recently sat down with the London Evening Standard
to talk about the Sambora situation:
“It’s getting more and more difficult every day to not just sit here
and say something… Because all I can say is this — it’s for personal
reasons. He’s been
through it before, fortunately for us the same guy who filled in last
time was available this time.”
He continued to snub Sambora by comparing him to U2’s The Edge, who would not be so easy to substitute.
“Life goes on, so if someone chooses not to be here… unlike if this
were, God forbid, The Edge, and he for some reason couldn’t make a U2
show, [then] it would be very difficult to just step in,” he said. “You have a choice — you either figure it out, go and grow, not only
survive but thrive. Or, you say, ‘I hate my brother and I’m gonna quit
the band.’”
During the interview, Bon Jovi called Justin Bieber
“an a**hole” for showing up to his O2 arena concert in March 2013 two
hours late.
According to BLABBERMOUTH, drummer Phil Buerstatte (ex-WHITE ZOMBIE, ex-LAST CRACK) was reportedly found dead over the weekend in Madison, Wisconsin. No further details are available at this time. Buerstatte was only 43 years old. Buerstatte drummed with WHITE ZOMBIE between 1992 and 1994. He jammed with the band on the "La Sexorcisto" tour. He was also a member of LAST CRACK (a Metal band from Wisconsin) from 1986 to 1997.
Reportedly, last August, a man claiming to be Buerstatte was arrested on suspicion of defrauding a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Sausalito, California. This same
man allegedly tried to pay $75,000 for his treatment at the Alta Mira
Recovery Center in June with a fraudulent check and bank account
information.

As previously reported, ADLER, the band featuring former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler, have been forced to postpone their previously announced "Back From The Dead" summer tour due to Steven checking into rehab in order to continue working on his sobriety. Here is what Steven had to say about relapsing and returning to rehab:
"I picked up a bottle and drank. This occurred a few times and that is a few times too many. I knew that this had to permanently stop. That is the moment I picked up the phone, before it got out of hand, to get help.
"I had kicked hard drugs several years ago and now it is time to get rid of the urges of drinking alcohol.
"I am at a great facility and will stay here until I am comfortable to be home to work the program on my own.
"I love you all for understanding, being patient and supporting my decision.
"Like my peers, I will beat this too, so I can return to music and beat my drums!"
The band issued a statement saying: "We are truly sorry to all of the fans and promoters who were looking forward to seeing us on the road, but right now Steven's health is the most important thing. We hope to make it up to everyone when Steven recovers." The dates are being rescheduled to the fall.

Last year, GREEN DAY were performing at the IHeartRadio music awards and allegedly, the promoter cut the bands set in half in order to give USHER some extra time during his set. As a result, Billie Joe Armstrong had an onstage melt down when the band is prompted that they have 1 minute left during their hit song "Basket Case". Following this incident, Billy Joe checked himself into rehab due to substance abuse. As a result, the bands was forced to postpone their North American tour. The good news is that Billy Joe is out of rehab and ready to hit the road in support of the bands NEW music trilogy: '¡Uno!', ¡'Dos!' and '¡Tré!' (available now via Reprise Records). The bad news is that they did had to cancel a bunch of tour dates due to scheduling conflicts.
On the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone magazine (in stands this Friday),Billie Joe Armstrong talks about his years of alcohol and prescription drug abuse and his stint in rehab following his onstage meltdown.
"I couldn't predict where I was going to end up at the end of the night," he tells Rolling Stone senior writer David Fricke. "I'd wake up in a strange house on a couch. I wouldn't remember how. It was a complete blackout." He finally confronted his problem after the Vegas radio festival, where the frontman smashed his guitar onstage and shouted, "I'm not fucking Justin Bieber, you motherfuckers."
"I remember tiny things," Armstrong says of the Vegas incident. "The next morning, I woke up. I asked [my wife] Adrienne, 'How bad was it?' She said, 'It's bad.' I called my manager. He said, 'You're getting on a plane, going back to Oakland and going into rehab immediately.'"

Once again, METALLICA wrote Heavy Music history as they performed for the first time ever at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience at the New Orleans City Park. METALLICA's performance took place on yesterday (October 27) and you can watch video of the bands performance below.
As previously reported, the band joined the festival billing as the replacement for GREEN DAY, which canceled its Voodoo appearance two weeks ago, presumably due to frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's onstage breakdown and subsequent rehab enrollment.

“We got a message about two days ago asking us if we were able to fill in for Green Day because Billie Joe was having some issues,” guitarist Kirk Hammett told Fuse. ”We discussed it between the four of us and we all said, ‘Yeah.’ It would be a great thing for us to do and it would also be great to help out Billie Joe because he’s a friend of ours and we love Green Day. If we can help them out in any way possible, we’re always happy to do it because we love those guys. It’s a honor for us that they approached us and asked if we could fill in.”
Lars Ulrich added: "We are excited to be part of our first ever Voodoo Music + Arts Experience. Our good friends and fellow Bay Area residents Green Day had to unfortunately cancel their plans to be there, so we are more than happy to fill in for them in our own unique way. We’re hoping we can fill those very large shoes and do them proud."
Green Day drummer Tre Cool announced his band would not be playing at the festival earlier this week, stating, "We had to put the life of our friend in front of everything."
Recently, Warner Bros. Records chairman Rob Cavallo, Green Day's longtime producer, released an update statement about the Punk icon, and revealed, "His rehab is no joke. He's under medical supervision for a while to get him clean."
Cavallo fears more shows will be cancelled to accommodate the star's recovery: "His doctors are still evaluating. All I can say is I don't know if we'll see him before or after Christmas. It's basically undetermined when he'll be back."

Following Billy Joe's meltdown, GREEN DAY's camp released the following statement via their Facebook page:
"Billie
Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone
to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to
apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas.
We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional
appearances."
The band has also been forced to cancel their appearance at the Voodoo Music and Arts Experience in New Orleans on October 27th. Thankfully, the band have found a pretty solid fill-in: METALLICA!
