GWAR's Oderus Urungus Has A Message For "Shocking" Acts Like Rob Zombie & Marilyn Manson!

Wow, during a recent interview with the Broward Palm Beach New Times, GWAR's David Brockie (a.k.a. Oderus Urungus) was asked about the fact that GWAR isn't regarded as "shocking" as the band used to be. The journalist who conducted this interview probably didn't get the chance to GWAR's current stage show. Shocking is an understatement for the bands current live show. Here is what Oderus had to say about not being "shocking" enough:

"A lot of bands have tried to do what GWAR does," Brockie said "But no band has ever taken it as far as GWAR has. No one has ever out-sicked us.

"You think these Walmart behemoths of the music industry like Marilyn Manson or Rob Zombie are really scary people? That they have any kind of revolutionary agenda? All they care about is making money, and hanging out with their director buddies as they throw gala award ceremonies to circle jerk each other into a frenzy. GWAR is where GWAR should be: In the drawer marked filth."

He continued, "There would not be SLIPKNOT without GWAR. I have a direct quote from Rob Zombie about GWAR when he was figuring out what he wanted to do with his career. They asked him, 'Hey what do you think of them?' and he said, 'The first time I saw GWAR, I thought 'I want to be that, but I want to make money.'' That, to me, says a lot about Rob Zombie as an artist. It says that he isn't one.

"I give Manson a little more credit. He has a strand of pure obnoxiousness in him. I heard a story, some girl tried to get his signature and he hocked a huge bloody loogie. 'There's my signature.'

"Rob Zombie is a tired, G-Rated mishmash of other people's styles.

"When I see SLIPKNOT I see lots of pentagrams and cow skulls. Really familiar imagery. What I do like about SLIPKNOT is their music. Their drummer is fucking amazing. But when I get to Marilyn Manson, he's a little harder to peg. A little Alice Cooper, a little Bowie, a little Johnny Rotten.

"GWAR has done similar things. We've borrowed liberally from other shit. But no one has gone further than GWAR has gone."

In other GWAR news, he band has announced that the long-lost cousin of Flattus, Pustulus Maximus, has officially joined the band in the position of lead guitarist, and is currently on tour with GWAR as part of "Fate or Chaos" tour.

MARILYN MANSON Writes Fu*K You On Lips At LAX - Images Available!

According to KTLA (a Los Angeles TV station), shock rocker Marilyn Manson wrote the words "fuck you" over his mouth and chin as he strolled through security at LAX this Friday, August 10th.

Manson was wearing a black hat, with raincoat and mirrored sunglasses, and was accompanied by Lindsay Usich (Manson't girlfriend). After being harassed by paparazzi, Manson decided to scribble the obscenity in black ink in a failed attempt to keep paparazzi from taking photographs.

According to the social news web site Reddit, a witness who was in the same security line as Manson had this to say about the incident: "I just went through the LAX security line with Marilyn Manson. He had 'FUCK' scrawled in large letters across the bottom half of his face, with what appeared to be a grease pencil."

"As we each removed our boots in the security line, he kindly explained that it was not directed at me or anyone else in the airport, but rather at the paparazzi, so that they couldn't sell any photos of him that they took."

"He was really apologetic about it, and covered his mouth around young children while apologizing to their parents for exposing their child to profanity."

KING DIAMOND Celebrates His 56th Birthday: A True Miracle!

Kim Bendix Petersen, better known as KING DIAMOND is celebrating his 56th birthday today! The King was born on June 14, 1956 in Copenhagen, Denmark. As a vocalist, he is known for his extensive vocal range, in particular his usage of falsetto. He is the lead vocalist for both Mercyful Fate and the eponymous King Diamond. This miraculous day should be celebrated by all the headbangers of the world to celebrate!

As previously reported, The King was forced to take a break from his musical career in November 2010. In case you don't remember, on November 29, 2010, King Diamond was taken to a hospital, where they discovered several blockages in his arteries due to his heavy smoking habit. They determined that he had several heart attacks and that he needed triple-bypass surgery. The surgery was performed successfully. On December 11, 2010 it was announced that he was at home recovering.

On December 7, 2011, King Diamond reappeared on stage with Metallica at The Fillmore in San Francisco to celebrate Metallica's 30th anniversary. Recently, King performed his comeback concert, on Sweden Rock Festival. In addition to performing a fifteen song set, Diamond was also joined onstage by his Mercyful Fate mates Hank Shermann and Michael Denner for a song each. As if that wasn’t enough, Diamond was also joined onstage by Michael Poulsen from Volbeat (which Shermann has been playing in as of late) and Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee, who got his start playing in Diamond’s solo band.

King Diamond Is Ready To Rock The World - Official Statement Available!

In case you don't remember, on November 29, 2010, King Diamond was taken to hospital, where they discovered several blockages in his arteries due to his heavy smoking habit. They determined that he had several heart attacks and that he needed triple-bypass surgery. The surgery was performed successfully. On December 11, 2010 it was announced that he was at home recovering.

Late last year, King Diamond reappeared on stage at Metallica's 30th anniversary at The Fillmore in San Francisco, California. Today, it was announced that King Diamond is joining forces with ICM and the Agency Group (booking agents). Here is their Official statement:

"It is great to be in the top professional hands of Nick and Paul. They both come highly recommended by Brian Slagel of Metal Blade, who personally suggested the partnership that is now in effect. ICM and The Agency Group have so much combined experience, which will open new doors for us. When it comes to getting us back on stage again, we all agree on how to bring King Diamond to a whole new level. Within a few weeks, we should be able to announce the first part of our plan. WELCOME ON BOARD AND STAY HEAVY.”

King Diamond adds: "There’ll be a lot more great news coming the next couple of weeks. It’s been difficult keeping everything under wraps, but soon it will all be out in the open. I want to thank you for your amazing patience. We will get back to the Skype sessions in not too long as well."
