THE AGONIST Reveal Artwork & Track-listing For 'Prisoners'!

Extreme Metallers THE AGONIST will finally be unleashing their long-awaited third studio album, 'Prisoners', on June 4th in Europe and June 5th in North America via Century Media Records! In regards to the album artwork, front-woman Alissa White-Gluz comments: "We wanted to really include a chaotic visual to reflect the chaotic sound of the band, but we also wanted to show that the lyrics on this album are a lot more introverted... The human face was left non-descript on purpose-- it doesn't belong to any particular person, but we could call him the Lonely Solipsist."

Throughout their North American tour with KITTIE, THE AGONIST will be selling digital download cards that feature two tracks from Prisoners: "Ideomotor" and the previously limited edition EP-only track "The Escape". These tracks will be available for immediate download, with the remainder of the album available on release day. After spending many months in the studio, melodic Death Metallers THE AGONIST will finally be unleashing their long-awaited third studio album, 'Prisoners', on June 4th in Europe and June 5th in North America via Century Media Records. The band is now ready to give fans their first preview of this upcoming release with the premiere of their NEW single, "Ideomotor"!

THE AGONIST Reveals NEW Album Title & Release Date; Band Eager To Get On The Road With KITTIE!

After spending many months in the studio, melodic Death Metallers THE AGONIST have finally finished their long-awaited third studio album, 'Prisoners'. Produced by Christian Donaldson (CRYPTOPSY) and mixed by Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILLITY, SUICIDE SILENCE), 'Prisoners' is set to be released via Century Media Records on June 4th in Europe and June 5th in North America, and it picks right up where 2009's 'Lullabies for the Dormant Mind' left off, with soaring melodies over complex Metal passages that fans of thinking-man's Metal can appreciate. In regards to this upcoming album, the band comments: "Creating 'Prisoners' was the most challenging under-taking to date for THE AGONIST. Years of emotion, passion, thought and experience went into making this album, and I think people will be able to hear, feel and think right along with us when they listen to 'Prisoners'."

Fans don't have to wait until release date to hear NEW music though. The band will be selling digital download cards throughout their upcoming tour with KITTIE. The Agonist's Alissa White-Gluz is the world's "Sexiest Female Vegetarian"

Alissa White-Gluz from Canadian Metal band The Agonist was named one of the 2011 "Hottest Chicks In Metal" by Revolver Magazine, and she is now also the world's "Sexiest Female Vegetarian" according to Peta2! In order to win the 2011 title she had to beat celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, and Olivia Wilde, but ultimately our Metal queen Alissa reigned supreme. While honored by the title, the ever modest front-woman is just happy to show a different side of herself and other fellow veggies:

"I have been vegetarian since birth and vegan for more than half my life. Living cruelty-free is the closest thing to a religion I'll ever believe in and it is a huge part of me and my music. Of course, the 'sexiest veg celebrity' contest is just for fun, but I do like how it shines a different light on the idea of veganism/vegetarianism. It's showing people that a lot of the celebrities that they look up to and admire already follow this lifestyle, and that it's not some weird, challenging, alienating ordeal to be veg - it's simple, healthy, popular, and, well, sexy! I'm very honored to have won." - Alissa White-Gluz

The Agonist recently completed a very successful South American tour and are currently in the studio working on their upcoming release. All instruments have been tracked and Alissa is in the midst of finishing up her vocals on the album, due in early 2012. Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Dark Tranquility, Suicide Silence) will be handling mixing duties on what promises to be yet another epic melodic death metal masterpiece!

For North American fans that can't wait until 2012, The Agonist will be touring this August/September with Alestorm and Kamelot, so be sure to catch them on the road where they're be selling an exclusive tour-only EP that will include two tracks from the upcoming album, plus a remix of "The Tempest" off of Lullabies for the Dormant Mind!
