MACHINE HEAD: Fall Tour With DETHKLOK, ALL THAT REMAINS & THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER Announced!

MACHINE HEAD will spend the next few months on the road, doing what they do best and that's lay waste to stages across the U.S., reducing them to piles of rubble and ash.

In advance of the tour, in mid-September, “Darkness Within,” one of band’s most powerful offerings, will ship to Rock radio.  The video for the track can be viewed HERE.

The Bay Area Metal titans will embark on what is sure to be one of the "must see" tours of the fall season with Dethklok, All That Remains and Black Dahlia Murder. That lineup translates into one helluva night for North America's Metalheads.

The trek kicks off on October 24th with a “warm up show” in Louisville, Kentucky, 2 massive radio festivals in Orlando and Tampa Florida, and then begins with Dethklok on Oct 30th at The Norva in Norfolk, Virginia and will hit 33 cities before wrapping on December 8th in Atlanta, Georgia.

This tour will also be offering a limited number of Machine Head VIP Meet and Greet packages, look for updates and links coming later this week.

MACHINE HEAD will be further supporting their 2011-released masterwork 'Unto the Locust', which was dubbed "a landmark for MACHINE HEAD, a landmark for Heavy Metal" by ARTISTdirect and which was said to be an album that is so good, it "rewards revisiting" by Decibel. The record was also heralded as one of the best of the past year by many publications (including this one), capping off near-universal praise for another instant classic in the MACHINE HEAD catalog. Jon Wiederhorn of Revolver proclaims “in terms of quality and significance, Unto the Locust may well be this decade's Master of Puppets.”

DETHKLOK's Gene Hoglan Is D O N E Tracking Drums For Bands NEW Album! #AtomicClock

As you should all know by now, drumming machine Gene Hoglan is no longer in FEAR FACTORY. While there had been speculations that Hoglan left FEAR FACTORY in order to join TESTAMENT, we were told by a very reliable source that the real reason behind Hoglan's departure was because DETHKLOK can offer him a lot more cash than either FEAR FACTORY or TESTAMENT can. So it really came down to Hoglan going for the gig that offers him the biggest pay check. We personally don't blame him at all!

Yesterday (June 7th), it became pretty clear that Hoglan has rejoined DETHKLOK and will be part of the bands upcoming tour with LAMB OF GOD and GOJIRA. The drummer twitted the following:

Joining the co-headliners at each stop along the tour will be special guest GOJIRA, the French Metal band that will perform songs from its upcoming album release, 'L'Enfant Sauvage', which will be released in the U.S. on June 26 with Roadrunner Records. The Real Reason Why GENE HOGLAN Left FEAR FACTORY! And No, It Is Not Because Of TESTAMENT!

As previously reported, Los Angeles based Industrial Metal machines FEAR FACTORY recorded their NEW album 'The Industrialist' (set to be released on June 5th via Candlelight Records) without a drummer, and they recently recruited drummer Mike Heller from MALGINANCY and SYSTEM DIVIDE for their tour with SHADOW'S FALL, THE BROWNING, THE DEVASTED, and LEGACY OF DISORDER!

So what happened with Gene Hoglan? While there have been speculations that Hoglan left FEAR FACTORY in order to join TESTAMENT, we were told be a very reliable source that the real reason behind Hoglan's departure is that Hoglan will be rejoining DETHKLOK on an upcoming tour (yet to be announced). So it really comes down to Hoglan going for the gig that offers him the biggest pay check. We personally don't blame him at all!

While Hoglan recorded drums on TESTAMENT's upcoming album 'The Dark Roots Of Earth' and has been touring with the band ever since last years tour with ANTHRAX and DEATH ANGEL, no official confirmation has come from TESTAMENT's camp regarding Hoglan becoming the bands permanent drummer.

Last night, FEAR FACTORY's "riffmanufacturer" Dino Cazarez put away any rumors that Hoglan left the band in bad terms when he posted the following Twit:

"Hanging with Gene on the flight back from Chile"

FEAR FACTORY's 'The Industrialist' is set to be released on June 5th via Candlelight Records! The band’s first tour dates since 2011 have already kicked off! The band recently performed four shows in South America, including Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. Yesterday, they kicked off the "Noise In The Machine Tour" with Shadows Fall, The Browning, The Devasted, and Legacy Of Disorder. The remaining tour dates are:

- 5/02/2012: Trees – Dallas, TX
- 5/03/2012: Scout Bar – Houston, TX
- 5/05/2012: State Theater – St. Petersburg, FL
- 5/06/2012: Culture Room – Ft. Lauderdale, FL
- 5/07/2012: Masquerade, Atlanta, GA (NEW)
- 5/09/2012: Ziggy’s – Winston-Salem, NC
- 5/10/2012: Theater of Living Arts – Philadelphia, PA
- 5/11/2012: Wally’s Pub – Hampton Beach, NH

Metalocalypse's Brendon Small Announces New Side Project GALAKTIKON

BRENDON SMALL is the co-creator/writer/actor/director/producer of ADULT SWIM'S "METALOCALYPSE" television series. Brendon Small is also responsible for writing and performing all of the show's music and DETHKLOK: 'THE DETHALBUM' and 'DETHALBUM II', the latter now known as the fastest-selling Death Metal album to date.

Now, Brendon has written and produced BRENDON SMALL's GALAKTIKON: 'A High Stakes Intergalactic Extreme Rock album', his long-awaited side project set to release in April 2012. The album release will coincide with the Season 4 premiere of METALOCALYPSE.

Coming off of the second DETHKLOK album which was heavier and darker than the first, BRENDON SMALL’s GALAKTIKON searches for melody (in the vocal) and finds inspirations in modern Black Metal, Queen, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer. No influence is unwelcome on this project. Brendon Small paired with legendary DETHKLOK drummer Gene Hoglan (Dethklok, Strapping Young Lad, Testament, Fear Factory) and DETHKLOK bassist Bryan Beller (Dethklok, Steve Vai, Mike Keneally band) and DETHKLOK engineer and mixer Ulrich Wild.

“This album should be thought of as an audio comic book, an over acted chamber drama, a ridiculous premise that takes itself way too seriously all the way to the end,” states Brendon Small.

BRENDON SMALL’s GALAKTIKON comes as a follow up to Brendon’s work on the chart-topping DETHKLOK albums based on 'METALOCALYPSE' and released by Williams Street Records. DETHKLOK: 'THE DETHALBUM' debuted at #21 on the Billboard Top 200 with over 30,000 copies sold in the first week and held the “fastest-selling Death Metal album to date” position originally until the follow-up, 'DETHALBUM II', surpassed it to break the aforementioned record with a #15 debut on the Billboard Top 200. DETHKLOK has performed on several US tours and headlined the Los Angeles kick-off date of the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

Mastodon Release NEW Album "The Hunter" & Schedule Performance on 'Late Show With David Letterman'!

Today (September 27th), Atlanta's Art Rock masters Mastodon have released their fifth studio album titled "The Hunter" via Reprise/Warner Bros and the reaction of the public so far is very promising for the band. The majority of the album was recorded at Doppler Studios in Atlanta, Georgia with producer Mike Elizondo. The drums were tracked at Sound City Studios, which is were Nirvana recorded their hit album "Nevermind" (released 20 years ago).

The band has announced that they will be appearing on the Wednesday, October 5 edition of CBS-TV's "Late Show With David Letterman" at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT. Check local listings for details. This will be the bands second appearance on this hit late night TV show; on May 15, 2009 they performed their song 'Oblivion' from their critically acclaimed album "Crack The Skye".

"When you listen to the songs, they don't sound as 'fun' as we perceive them to be, I guess; it's still pretty extremely heavy material. We had a few songs that were kind of, not left over from 'Crack The Skye', but just stuff that we wanted to be on that album, but that album kind of took on a whole different thing of its own and there were a few stragglers that were super-heavy and crazy that didn't make it, and we finally got to put them on this record. And then we wrote a whole bunch of brand new stuff. There's, like, 14 songs that we recorded. And it's sort all over the place — a lot of different sounds. Some straight-up classic-rock-sounding songs, straight-up death metal-sounding songs and some completely bizarre, weirdo rock songs that we're not really sure what they are, but we love them." - Brann Dailor (On Metal Hammer)

You can pre-order a limited-edition package of "The Hunter" at MastodonRocks.com. It includes:
