THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER Frontman Says The Band Might End If "Fans" Don't Buy 'Everblack'

Trevor Strnad from THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER recently posted the following statement on his bands Facebook page in regards to illegal downloading in anticipation his bands NEW album 'Everblack' (available this June via Metal Blade Records):

"HOW IT IS: We have almost 1,000,000 likes on here. Will we sell 1,000,000 copies of 'Everblack'? Fuck no! The reality is that 98% of you ‘fans’ are going to be content to steal the album and in turn we get nothing… a laughable fragment of the ‘likers’ will actually be cool and pick it up.

"It’s not about the money, the reality is that we get chump change for CD (and digital) sales BUT WE NEED TO SELL THEM TO EXIST! If there are no record sales the music industry will stomp us out like a bug and it’ll be completely over… the sales show them ‘how relevant’ we are.

"If you don’t buy the albums they’ll determine that there is no demand for TBDM, and there won’t be any more awesome concerts, tours, DVDs nor new music. Sure we understand you may really love our tunes, but if you haven’t paid for them, it’s a total loss to us… all the love in the world isn’t going to mean shit in the end. We need your support and every two years I am going to ask the same thing of you and make the same goddamn argument.

"Think of it like a vote… If you’d like to see us continue our reign of terror over the Metal world, you’ll pick up a copy of 'Everblack'. It’s as simple as that.

– Trevor on behalf of The Black Dahlia Murder

ALL THAT REMAINS: Mike Martin Talks About 'A War You Cannot Win' & Most Unpredictable Tour Ever!

ALL THAT REMAINS recently strolled through North America in what is by far one of the most unpredictable tours in the bands history. The tour, which also included DETHKLOK, MACHINE HEAD and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, faced mother nature and mother nature punched all four bands (and their collective group of fans) in the stomach. While some tour dates had to be cancelled because of Hurricane Sandy, most of the tour dates were rescheduled.

On Friday, December 14, 2012, the tour arrived to New York City's Roseland Ballroom (the show was originally scheduled to take place at the Roseland on November 3, 2012). Prior to ALL THAT REMAINS' set, we had the chance to sit down and chat with the bands guitarist Mike Martin. During the chat, which you can see below, we discussed the bands NEWEST record 'A War You Cannot Win' (available now via Razor and Tie Records). We also chatted about the bands musicality, and how thanks to their diversity and flexibility they are one of the few bands in Heavy Music that can partake in a variety of tours with very different sounding bands. And we obviously talked about the impact that Hurricane Sandy had on the entire tour. Watch it now, and spread the word!

The stars of the Adult Swim series Metalocalypse will unleash 12 brand NEW tracks that are more brutal than ever before in this fall’s release, set to hit stores throughout North America on October 16, 2012 from Williams Street Records. The "Dethalbum III" is once again co-produced by Metalocalypse co-creator Brendon Small and Dethklok producer Ulrich Wild (The Dethalbum and Dethalbum II). MACHINE HEAD Pays Tribute To "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott - Video Available!

On December 8th 2004, Nathan Gale shot DIMEBAG Darrell Abbott on stage, while Damageplan was performing at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus Ohio. Dime was shot six times (four times in the head), which killed him instantly. Gale continued shooting, killing four others and wounding a further seven. Jeff “Mayhem” Thompson (Damageplan’s head of security) was killed after tackling Gale, as was Alrosa Villa employee Erin Halk. Nathan Bray (a fan of the band) was killed while trying to perform CPR on Dimebag and Mayhem. Gale was finally shot dead by officer James James D. Niggemeyer. Dimebag Darrell was laid to rest at the Moore Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, Texas. From that moment on Heavy Music was never the same.

This past Saturday, December 8th, our community paid honor to DIMEBAG on his eighth death anniversary. Our friends in Machine Head joined the worldwide DIME tribute and did a PANTERA jam during their performance in Atlanta, Georgia. Here is fan filmed video, courtesy of the The PRP.

Here is what Riki Rachtman had to say about the legacy that DIMEBAG left behind:

MACHINE HEAD has easily had the most chaotic North American tour of their 20+ year career. Not only did they have to cancel and reschedule a bunch of tour dates "thanks" to Hurricane Sandy, but they also had to pull out from a slew of tour dates during their current tour with DETHKLOK, ALL THAT REMAINS and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER due to Robb Flynn's hernia surgery (Watch Flynn's surgery diary HERE). Additionally, they were unable to perform in Portland, Oregon due to a bus breakdown. In order to make the best of all the chaos, the band came out out with a great t-shirt concept. Here is what they had to say about it. Check it out HERE!

Recently, MACHINE HEAD released 'Machine Fucking Head Live' via Roadrunner Records (Pick it up HERE!). It's Machine Head's second live effort; 'Hellalive' was released in 2003. Nine years have passed and Machine Head still slay and administer a "Bay Area Beatdown" in the live realm. Full details HERE!

ROBB FLYNN: "No More 3 Nuts" Surgery Diary!

As previously reported, MACHINE HEAD's General Robb Flynn underwent emergency surgery on Wednesday, November 14th in Minneapolis, Michigan. Flynn had planned to go under the knife in January after completing the tour - with DETHKLOK, ALL THAT REMAINS and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER - as he had been playing through the pain of a double inguinal hernia since the tour started in October. He had hoped to continue the tour despite extreme discomfort, but it became too difficult to continue on. Machine Head will rejoin the tour in Portland, OR.

Below you can watch Flynn's "No More 3 Nuts" surgery diary. ENJOY!

MACHINE HEAD's Robb Flynn Undergoes Surgery; Gets Blasted With "3 Nut" Jokes & Comments!

As you read this, MACHINE HEAD's General Robb Flynn is undergoing emergency surgery. Flynn had planned to go under the knife in January after completing the tour as he has been playing through the pain of a double inguinal hernia since the tour started in October. He had hoped to continue the tour despite extreme discomfort, but it's become too difficult to continue on. Flynn will undergo surgery tomorrow, Wednesday, November 14 in Minneapolis before returning home to California to recover, rest and recuperate. Machine Head will rejoin the tour in Portland, OR.
Below is Flynn’s statement about his health and the tour.

"I've been toughing out an inguinal hernia below my waistline since June of last year, and a few months ago got a second hernia in my nuts. What basically happens is my guts drop into my nuts, and it looks like I have a third testicle (man, I can hear the jokes already!) It hasn't been that painful, and I've gone to the doctor a few times to take care of it, but he said after surgery I probably couldn't sing for a few weeks, and since that wasn't going to happen, I scheduled it for January when I had a break.

"Unfortunately, after the last few shows, my guts have been very swollen and hard to push back in. Yesterday, the pain was excruciating and I went to the emergency room last night. They said that I need surgery.

"I will be doing my damnedest to rejoin the tour in a couple weeks. Thanks to all the fans, bands, and crew for understanding. I'm determined to see you all soon and finish what has been a great freakin tour!"

Now, here are the "3 Nut" jokes and comments we compiled via Flynn's Twitter. Follow him HERE:

: You got this, Robb. Just think how nice it'll feel to only have two balls again.
I always thought u must have multiple balls anyway to sing like that. :)

: Best wishes to my metal brother and his extraordinary TRIPLE GONAD ATTACK. Get well soon, buddy.

: What do you call a Russian man with 3 testicles? Who-ja-knick-a-bollock-off.

: Sounds like you and 3 ball Burt have something in common. Glad you'll make LA.

: Be honest Robb, your really being fitted for a wheelbarrow to carry them round in. There's no shame in it admitting it."

: In Fubar2, had his nuts removed & could sing really high. You got an extra nut... How low can u sing now man!!??

: Your balls must look like they got hit by a Ten Ton Hammer! I bet they turned blue to gray.

: You should go out on a date with the 3 tittied chick from Total Recall, at least you have something in common.

: Robb's gonna need the Harlem Globetrotters to put those balls in his underwear basket.

: Robb Flynn can now teabag like no other

: there is a tale of mythological proportions that rocked so hard his body spontaneously created a 3rd testicle

: Hope you're not balls deep in a bad situation for long! Hope you're sorted soon lad!

: E.T. Eddie Torres... The extra testicle!

: And that be the tale of Three Balled Flynn, a man so metal, he has not two, but three :P
: That's three more balls than anyone at Disney. Cheers to a speedy recovery!

"Thanks for all he well wishes to my balls, you guys are nuts (no pun intended)!" - Robb Flynn

It has just been announced that MACHINE HEAD must exit their current North American tour with Dethklok, All That Remains and Black Dahlia Murder due to matters completely beyond their control.

What Does MACHINE HEAD Do When They Get "Forced" Vacations?

The MACHINE HEAD crew have been having a rough couple of weeks due to unforeseen show cancellations and postponements. After being forced to cancel and postpone various concerts due to that bitch Sandy. The band was recently struck in the face by the corporate Mickey's over at Walt Disney (More info HERE!).

So what does MACHINE HEAD do when they get some "forced" vacations? Well, recently the great folks over at Roadrunner Records spoke with Robb Flynn on the phone and asked him how they spent their unexpected vacation, and whether anything like this has ever happened to them before. Here is what he had to say about this!

You guys had almost a week there where shows got re-scheduled because of the hurricane. So what did you do on your days off?

"Uh, I went out drinking a couple of nights… I mean, we started in Florida, and the Orlando show was cancelled, the Norfolk [Virginia] show was cancelled, the Philly show was cancelled, then New York… we’ve literally been driving up the East Coast following the hurricane, and getting shows cancelled along the way, because that was the routing. So you know, we had some days off there, and we worked out in some killer gyms, went out drinking a few nights in Richmond, went to a couple of cool bars out there, but it can be pretty boring. We got a couple of rehearsal places and practiced and rehearsed a few times, which was awesome. Just shit like that – you can’t really do much.

Is this the first time you guys have had to cancel because of natural disasters?

"Well, when 9/11 happened, we had a tour set up that started five days after 9/11. The first show was on the 16th. And there was a lot of talk about cancelling it. We wanted to cancel it, but everyone talked us into it, so the tour went on, and in some ways it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. It was just like, what the fuck? The world seemed like it was turning on its head – you didn’t know anything, it was all fucked up, but kids were coming to the shows and just staring at us like, why am I here? We were looking at a whole front row of people staring at us like, "Why am I here? Tell me it’s gonna be OK." And in a lot of ways, it was so therapeutic, to just get out there and scream your head off and rage and headbang and sweat and even just for two hours forget about it. Not even forget about it, but just be with other people who were going through the same thing. In the end, it was one of the most incredible tours we had done, leading up to the release of 'Supercharger' and all the fallout that we had from that – you know, we had the “Crashing Around You” video, which had us standing on a bunch of buildings that were on fire and crashing and falling – [laughs] it was like, wow, the worst video you could have made for that time period. It was a crazy time, and in another way it was an amazing time, to have that communal release through Metal. But yeah, we had to cancel the New York show on that tour, and the DC date also, but most of the dates happened."

Don't forget to catch MACHINE HEAD on the road with DETHKLOK, ALL THAT REMAINS and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER. All up to date MACHINE HEAD tour dates can be seen here: http://www.machinehead1.com/tourdates

MACHINE HEAD: Fall Tour With DETHKLOK, ALL THAT REMAINS & THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER Announced!

MACHINE HEAD will spend the next few months on the road, doing what they do best and that's lay waste to stages across the U.S., reducing them to piles of rubble and ash.

In advance of the tour, in mid-September, “Darkness Within,” one of band’s most powerful offerings, will ship to Rock radio.  The video for the track can be viewed HERE.

The Bay Area Metal titans will embark on what is sure to be one of the "must see" tours of the fall season with Dethklok, All That Remains and Black Dahlia Murder. That lineup translates into one helluva night for North America's Metalheads.

The trek kicks off on October 24th with a “warm up show” in Louisville, Kentucky, 2 massive radio festivals in Orlando and Tampa Florida, and then begins with Dethklok on Oct 30th at The Norva in Norfolk, Virginia and will hit 33 cities before wrapping on December 8th in Atlanta, Georgia.

This tour will also be offering a limited number of Machine Head VIP Meet and Greet packages, look for updates and links coming later this week.

MACHINE HEAD will be further supporting their 2011-released masterwork 'Unto the Locust', which was dubbed "a landmark for MACHINE HEAD, a landmark for Heavy Metal" by ARTISTdirect and which was said to be an album that is so good, it "rewards revisiting" by Decibel. The record was also heralded as one of the best of the past year by many publications (including this one), capping off near-universal praise for another instant classic in the MACHINE HEAD catalog. Jon Wiederhorn of Revolver proclaims “in terms of quality and significance, Unto the Locust may well be this decade's Master of Puppets.”
