Heavy Music history was written on Thursday, May 2 at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles, CA. Not only did the Revolver Golden Gods Awards welcome the elite of the music we all love, but the energy inside the sold out venue was incomparable. Here is a scoop of who won what, and who performed with who.

CHILDREN OF BODOM (COB) have selected 'Halo Of Blood' as the title of their eighth studio album that will be released on June 11th in North America via Nuclear Blast Records. Artwork was created by artist Sam Saramäki, known for his classic COB album covers for 'Follow the Reaper' (2001), 'Hate Crew Deathroll' (2003), and 'Are You Dead Yet?' (2005).

CHILDREN OF BODOM recorded 'Halo Of Blood' at Finland's Danger Johnny Studios (in a top secret, undisclosed location in Helsinki) with recording engineer Mikko Karmila, who worked on the 'Hatebreeder' (1999), 'Follow the Reaper' (2001), and 'Hate Crew Deathroll' (2003) albums. Producer Peter Tägtgren (Immortal, Marduk, Amon Amarth) oversaw production on both vocals and keyboards. The album was mixed at Finland’s famed Finnvox Studios.

COB will perform alongside Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Mastodon, Amon Amarth and others across the United States. Launching on June 29th in San Bernardino, California, the 5-week trek will run through August 4th in Dallas, Texas.

World renowned Finnish Heavy Metal band CHILDREN OF BODOM (COB) have selected 'Halo Of Blood' as the title of their eighth studio album that will be released on June 11th in North America via Nuclear Blast Records. COB frontman, guitarist, and mastermind Alexi Laiho comments on the NEW album’s musical direction:
“We managed to keep 'Halo Of Blood' fresh and NEW while still maintaining the elements that make COB’s sound recognizable. It’s got the fastest and the slowest song we ever made and lyrics-wise, there are themes we had never had before. It’s ten NEW songs of pure Nordic Metal!”
Bass player Henkka Seppälä shares the following about the artwork:
"We wanted to have a winter scene. Somehow it fits well with the atmosphere of the music and the composing session. Lake Bodom, frozen, with people trapped under the ice. Very Finnish-looking scene. We were really happy how Sami created the whole imagery!"

The 2013 Mayhem Dates have been released! The headbanging kicks off on June 29th in San Bernardino, California and includes a return to Toronto, Canada and the first time the tour rolls through Bangor, Maine and Austin, Texas.
Here is the rumored lineup, expect the OFFICIAL band announcement on Monday, March 18th at 4pm PST. Tickets will then be going on sale starting Friday March 22nd at 12 noon PST:

Finland's Heavy Metal machines CHILDREN OF BODOM are currently tracking their ninth studio album, the follow up to 2011's 'Relentless Reckless Forever', at Danger Johnny Studios in Helsinki, Finland.
For the recording process the band has teamed up with recording engineer Mikko Karmila, who also produced the bands 'Hatebreeder', 'Follow The Reaper' and 'Hate Crew Deathroll'. Additionally, Swedish producer Peter Tägtgren (MARDUK, AMON AMARTH) is overseeing production of both vocals and keyboards on the record. The album will be mixed at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki for a summer release via Nuclear Blast Records.
As previously reported, CHILDREN OF BODOM have inked a worldwide recording deal (excluding Japan) with Nuclear Blast Records. The celebrated Metal label -- who worked with the band over the early stages of its career -- is proud to announce the renewed partnership with the world famous band.
