IN FLAMES to replace LAMB OF GOD at Canada's Heavy MTL Festival - Statement Available!

"HEAVY MTL is sorry to announce that due to the continued incarceration of LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe in the Czech Republic, the band won't be able to play Heavy MTL.

"Therefore, we are proud to announce that IN FLAMES is added to the lineup on Sunday, August 12!

"LAMB OF GOD would like to thank the fans who have been supportive of Randy and the band!"

This is what the IN FLAMES camp had to say about this:

“We are super excited be able to play Heavy MTL and Heavy TO, our only North American shows this summer! Come check out the amazing line up at these great festivals."

August 11 – Heavy TO (Toronto, Canada) – www.heavyto.com
August 12 - Heavy MTL (Montreal, Canada) – www.heavymtl.com

As previously reported, due to the continued incarceration of LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe in the Czech Republic, the band’s co-headline tour with Dethklok scheduled to begin August 1st in Seattle is being cancelled. The band regrets the decision but the uncertainty of Randy’s release makes it impossible to carry on with the tour. Upon Randy’s release, it is the band’s intention to rebook a tour in the fall and at this time the band fully intends to participate in the Mayhem Cruise in December. More about this story HERE!

Here is the latest on Randy Blythe's incarceration!

In Flames Discuss Evolution of Latest Album & Perseverance!

For over 20 years the members of In Flames have been on a constant musical evolution, in which they have pushed the boundaries of the Gothenburg Swedish Melodic Death Metal scene to the limit. While some may say that the band has experimented way too much with their sound, the reality is that In Flames have always stood out for making sure that every record they release is a different chapter of the In Flames book. With the release of their 10th studio album titled "Sounds of a Playground Fading" on June 15 via Century Media, the band once again is proving that they do not like playing it safe.

As most of you probably know, In Flames had to pull out from their current run at the Rockstar Energy Mayhem festival due to a family emergency (click here for the Official Press Release). Luckily, we were able to see the band perform at the Mayhem Festival in Hartford, Connecticut, and to interview bassist Peter Iwers about their new album and how they have managed to persevere for so many years. We wish In Flames the best of luck!

"We always try to create music from a fans point of view. By fans, I mean us. We like to step out of the music as if somebody else wrote it. And when we do that, and when we like it... that's the key. We have tons of influences! A lot of artists in bands stay within their own genre to try to find influences, but we get it from everywhere! We incorporate that into our own music with no limits and try to do something fresh every time." - Peter Iwers (In Flames)
