Massachusetts metallers REVOCATION are finished recording the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2011 Relapse Records release 'Chaos of Forms'. This is the first full length album with bass player Brett Bamberger who joined the band in 2012 and was featured on the band's last EP 'Teratogenesis' which was released by Scion AV. Get it HERE! "Today is the last day of tracking, just gotta finish up some vocals and then it'll ready for the mixing stage. We're all incredibly pleased with how this one turned out, it's going to be a very pissed off record but will also have some twists and turns to spice things up. We feel like this is some of our best playing laid down to date, can't wait for everyone to check out the new tunes!"
The band will take a quick break from working on their NEW album this Spring when they hit the road with Goatwhore, 3 Inches of Blood, and Ramming Speed. Grindcore Masters PIG DESTROYER have released a never before heard EP entitled 'Mass & Volume'. This EP is dedicated to the memory of Pat Egan and to the loving family he left behind. The EP is a Doom EP and the artwork was created by Arik Roper. The EP is available for purchase at http://patlapse.bandcamp.com/album/mass-volume. This is the only format that this EP is available in and all proceeds of this recording will be donated to the college fund of Pat Egan's daughter Katie.
The band spoke about Pat and the EP release:
"Pat Egan was a friend and a keystone member of the Relapse family for many of the years we have been involved with it. He devoted his life to supporting underground music and he immeasurably helped develop the bands he worked with. His untimely passing on February 18 2013 shocked the many people that his life and work had touched."
This EP was written and recorded during the final day of the 'Phantom Limb' sessions with unexpected extra studio time and resources. In the following years, with "Natasha" being released on its own and Brian no longer being in the band, the bands intentions of releasing 'Mass & Volume' basically evaporated. However, looking back now, 'Mass & Volume' serves as a great epilogue to that particular era of the band.
Less than 2 weeks ago Relapse Records released "Patlapse" in honor of the man who was so instrumental in the success of so many Relapse bands and records, the label has put together a 20 track compilation featuring a collection of his favorite songs and artists, including Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Brian Posehn, Red Fang, Death, and many more, including a never-before-released track from Exhumed.
100% of proceeds from the compilation will go towards a college fund for his young daughter Katie. Relapse thanks each band for contributing each track and waiving their royalty fee to maximize the benefit for Pat's beloved family. The compilation is available via Bandcamp at this location for only $5 but friends and fans are welcome to donate as much as they want. Direct contributions may also be made via paypal to wellmissyoupat@relapse.com.
A memorial event for Pat has been scheduled for Tuesday March 5th from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM EST at Idle Hands Bar in New York, NY. Everyone is invited to attend as we pay tribute to a dear friend, colleague & family man who left behind an amazing wife and a wonderful daughter. The tour will begin October 18th in Trenton, NJ and run through November 14th in Montreal, QC. Support on the tour will come from A Life Once Lost and KEN mode. Rhode Island's THY WILL BE DONE recently completed work on a brand NEW EP that is slated for release later this summer. The band, renowned for their DIY approach, engineered the EP themselves and teamed up once again with acclaimed Metal producer Zeuss to mix their six brand NEW studio tracks. With influences and roots that harkens the listener back to Metal's glory days, and songs and arrangements that echo the voice of the oppressed and broken, the end result is a release that brings hope and far surpasses its predecessors, and in all aspects possesses the capabilities of cementing THY WILL BE DONE's position in the Metal world. More details, including title and release date will be revealed in the coming weeks.

"With the overwhelmingly warm reception we received at Orion Fest and with the new single that was unveiled last week, it just seemed like it was the most natural thing to do. We were meeting some existing fans as well as new fans at Orion Fest who were asking when they could actually own some new music; it just made sense."
THY WILL BE DONE are headed to Japan for a co-headlining tour with Japanese crossover legends The Aggressive Dogs. The tour will kick off on June 29th in Kasihwa and runs through July 8th in Nagoya. A list of confirmed dates can be found below.

Costa on vocals, Kurt Fraunfelter on rhythm guitar, Chris Drapeau on lead guitar, Brendan Misturado on bass and Jay Waterman on drums, a plethora of foreign and domestic performances, and literally hundreds of thousands of miles traveled, it appears that values and drive mixed with an old school Metal and Rock N' Roll upbringing have brought together a juggernaut of a band that's clearing a path with a working-class ideology.
THY WILL BE DONE represents another chapter in the evolution of heavy metal. Their 2012 dose blends the thrash and groove elements that offered some of the late eighties and early nineties most memorable bands and albums, and yes, there are even solos too. "The song, 'You, The Apathy Divine' occurs in what is the proverbial middle of the EP and is a pivotal point of the recording with its own musical and lyrical intermezzo. For me, its timbre exudes the anguish and despair of someone dealing with infidelity after having just lost multiple relatives. That's what happened in my life and I needed to express it."
