THY WILL BE DONE's J. Costa Announces NEW Full Length Album; Reflects On Music & Life In 2012!

Earlier this year, THY WILL BE DONE unleashed one of the best EP's of 2012. Entitled 'Temple', the release saw the light of day via the band's own Eye.On Lion Recordings with INgrooves Fontana handling distribution. In times in which music is really hard to sell regardless of the quality of the product, THY WILL BE DONE proved that with the right batch of songs and some smart marketing, a solid EP can actually sell and help fund future projects.

We recently chatted with the bands frontman J. Costa after the KILLWITCH ENGAGE, SHADOWS FALL and ACARO show in Brooklyn, NY, and he revealed that the band is currently on a full length album that will NOT include any of the songs that are part of 'Temple'. However, he did mention that the direction of the NEW THY WILL BE DONE record will be within the lines of 'Temple'.

During the interview we also discussed the bands association with HATEBREED's Jamey Jasta, who they consider a mentor. Additionally, Costa reflects on 2012 and how the bands appearance at "Orion Music + More" was a dream come true! He also talked about how the passing of SUICIDE SILENCE's Mitch Lucker impacted the entire Heavy Music community and how it is a reminder to live every day like its your last one. THY WILL BE DONE's upcoming EP 'Temple', will receive its long awaited release worldwide tomorrow (September 25th) via the band's own Eye.On Lion Recordings with INgrooves Fontana handling distribution.

Singer J. Costa commented on the impending release of 'Temple':

"We're sincerely overwhelmed with the positive response and support we've received surrounding Temple. We're fortunate to be able to do what we love and have people care about it. While the EP was created from a tumultuous period, we're glad we're able to express ourselves. We're grateful for what we have and who we are. On deciding to pave their way and start their own label, the band's vocalist and co-writer J Costa commented, "As a band, we've always wanted to preserve our expressions as well as the way they reach the listener. It's important for us to have a fan feel, see, and hear the finished piece as closely to the creative source of energy as possible. Eye.On Lion is a way for us to offer our artistic creations to those who choose to support us and by proxy, excludes a lot of 'middle-people'." He added, "Growing up, I've always thought about having my own label and could identify with labels like Dischord that seemed to be doing things from a passionate perspective. I also found it inspiring seeing artists like Jack White and Mike Patton, amongst others, as well as bands like Neurosis, Tool and Clutch whom have decided to blaze their own trail in this ever-changing industry. Having worked with Jamey Jasta and his Stillborn label for our first two releases, I was inspired even more to want to maintain the DIY ethos I've always had and start this label." Costa adds "Jamey's belief in us got us started on this journey. Not only do we consider him Family, but also an inspiration to us."

THY WILL BE DONE has toured extensively throughout Japan, Europe and the U.K. They have taken to the stage in North American for a plethora of performances including tours supporting the likes of Machine Head, Lamb of God, All That Remains, DevilDriver, Five Finger Death Punch, Hatebreed and Fear Factory just to name a few. The band, renowned for their DIY approach, engineered the EP themselves and teamed up once again with acclaimed Metal producer Zeuss to mix their six brand NEW studio tracks. With influences and roots that harkens the listener back to Metal's glory days, and songs and arrangements that echo the voice of the oppressed and broken, the end result is a release that brings hope and far surpasses its predecessors, and in all aspects possesses the capabilities of cementing THY WILL BE DONE's position in the Metal world. "The song, 'You, The Apathy Divine' occurs in what is the proverbial middle of the EP and is a pivotal point of the recording with its own musical and lyrical intermezzo. For me, its timbre exudes the anguish and despair of someone dealing with infidelity after having just lost multiple relatives. That's what happened in my life and I needed to express it."

J. Costa commented on the NEW EP:

"There's always a sense of accomplishment when unveiling a piece of expression that we've created. Personally, what makes this not so much different as much as special, is that it represents my rediscovery of exactly why I enjoy expressing myself through the medium of music.

The songs on the EP are the core of what initially came together musically as well as lyrically after enduring what seemed like a whirlwind of tribulations: the passing of several relatives, infidelity, having 2 friends diagnosed with disease, and having one of my best friends out of my life for a period of time. All these events occurred within a span of 18 months and I almost stopped everything.

I wanted to express the subconscious and the suffering to illustrate the subjective emotions and responses that these events caused to ignite within me.

There's an immense physical and emotional force behind our live performances, and it was important for us to really convey that through this recording. In our opinion, the selection of songs as well as the production of this EP coalesced into a release that really exemplifies that energy."

THY WILL BE DONE Is Coming For Japan - Tour Dates Available!

Having just recently been invited by METALLICA to be a part of their upcoming ORION Music + More Event, THY WILL BE DONE have confirmed a co-headlining tour throughout Japan this summer with Japanese crossover legends The Aggressive Dogs. The tour will kick off on June 29th in Kasihwa and runs through July 8th in Nagoya. A list of confirmed dates can be found below.

On their last trek to Japan, THY WILL BE DONE had provided direct support for KILLSWITCH ENGAGE as well as an additional string of headlining shows throughout the country. Lead guitarist Chris Drapeau spoke about returning to Japan:

"I'm really excited to go back to such a beautiful place with such diehard fans! Our first visit changed my life. I'm also extremely excited to share the stage and spend time with our dear brothers The Aggressive Dogs!"

THY WILL BE DONE Release Video Teaser For NEW EP (Starring Robb Flynn & Jamey Jasta)!!

American Heavy Metal juggernauts THY WILL BE DONE have posted an exclusive video teaser for their anticipated upcoming EP via their recently launched YouTube channel. The video features a sampling of NEW music from their forthcoming release combined with live footage and some familiar faces.

"We, as a band and as individuals, went through a lot during the writing process of this EP.", comments rhythm guitarist Kurt Fraunfelter who also engineered the forthcoming release. "You can hear so many emotions and feelings throughout whether it be in the vocals, the guitar solos, or whatever."

The forthcoming release was mixed by acclaimed Metal producer Zeuss (WHITE CHAPEL, SUICIDE SILENCE, CHIMAIRA, SOULFLY) at Planet Z in Hadley, MA and features six brand NEW studio tracks, including 'You, The Apathy Divine', which the band debuted live on the Stillborn Fest tour with HATEBREED.

"Musically, it is still very much a THY WILL BE DONE release," Kurt elaborates. "However, I think when this NEW EP is played from start to finish you will definitely hear a darker and far more 'moody' vibe than throughout our entire last album. Lyrically, I can assure you there is not one word on this EP that isn't straight from (vocalist) J's heart."

Thy Will Be Done To Headline 'Strength Beyond Strength' Event!

American Heavy Metal mammoths Thy Will Be Done are confirmed to headline the inaugural 'Strength Beyond Strength' event on December 8th at the Palladium in Worcester, MA. A tribute to the late "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, the proceeds from the event will be donated to help after-school music programs in the Worcester area.

The Palladium has been the home of the annual 'New England Metal and Hardcore Festival' for thirteen years, of which Thy Will Be Done has been a part of four.

"We were honored when the Palladium promoters asked us to headline such an event. Conceptually, its a wonderful sentiment to Dime's legacy.", says vocalist J. Costa. "What better way to keep that flame burning than by celebrating life and helping provide a creative environment for the youth after school."

"We'll be paying homage to Dime that night," Costa concludes, "with some fun surprises."

Thy Will Be Done have recently completed the recording process for their upcoming EP, which is currently being mixed by acclaimed metal producer Zeuss (Suicide Silence, Soulfly, Chimaira). You can hear all about it in our exclusive interview with TWBD singer J. Costa!

Thy Will Be Done Discuss NEW EP + Bands Past, Present & Future!

Thy Will Be Done is one of the hardest working bands in the underground Heavy Music scene! By now, the guys from TWBD have proven that they possess the proper mindset and the right sound to be able to infect thousands of ear buds all across the globe. In the last few years they have been direct support during national tours for bands such as: Lamb Of God, Machine Head (as mentioned above), Fear Factory, Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth and many more.

Why did all this bands ask Thy Will Be Done to share the stage with them? Well, they guys from Thy Will Be Done have managed to blend various elements of Heavy Metal and Hardcore in an original way. They are also some of the nicest guys you will ever meet, they always go the extra mile for their fans both on and off stage.

Thy Will Be Done = Rhode Island's Punch

Thy Will Be Done is one of the hardest working bands in the underground Heavy Music scene! Ever since we came across them in 2009 at the Crazy Donkey in Long Island, where they warmed up the crowd for Machine Head. We knew that they had the proper mindset and the right sound to be able to infect thousands of ear buds all across the United States. In the last few years they have been direct support for: Lamb Of God, Machine Head (as mentioned above), Fear Factory, Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth and many more.

Why this all this bands ask Thy Will Be Done to share the stage with them? Well, they guys from Thy Will Be Done have managed to blend various elements of Heavy Metal and Hardcore in an original way. They are also some of the nicest guys you will ever meet, they always go the extra mile for their fans both on and off stage.

We've heard many fans out there say how at the beginning they didn't get the bands music, but that after a few spins they understood that Thy Will Be Done is "Rhode Island's Punch"! Once they hit you, they knock you out ala Mike Tyson.

This past December we headed over to Santos Party House in New York City, to check out Shadow's Fall, Thy Will Be Done and Binary Code. As soon as we got to the venue we ran into Thy Will Be Done's front-man/screamer J Costa, and immediately started talking music! Right after Thy Will Be Done were done punching everyone who attended in the gut with their furious music, we spoke with J about the past, the present and the future of Thy Will Be Done.
