In early February it was announced HERE that LA's power trio KYNG were forced to pull out from CLUTCH's "Earth Rocker North American tour". KYNG had to be replaced by Scorpion Child since their bassist Tony Castaneda was involved in a very serious car accident. Thankfully, the KYNG boys are back in action as you can see on the picture on the right (uploaded by Tony a few minutes ago).
Not only are they back on the road with THE SWORD (tour dates below), but they have also completed the recording sessions for the follow up of the critically acclaimed 'Trampled Sun' with producer Jim Rota (Fireball Ministry, Sound City), and Andrew Alekel on the helm. The sessions took place in Los Angeles, CA at an undisclosed location. Additionally, the band has announced that they will be part of these years Bonnaroo Music Festival!
Here are some images of the recording sessions, courtesy of KYNG:

MACHINE HEAD's Robb Flynn Explains Why Adam Duce Was Fired!

The bands general, Robb Flynn, just posted one of his diary entires and he is very open about the band deciding to fire Duce. Here is Flynn's full statement:
“As much as I do not want to write this journal, I promised you I’d write them “at least once a week”. Good, bad, happy or sad… so this is what has to be done. 2-11-13. That is the date we fired Adam Duce. That is the day that I had to tell Adam that after 21 years of being in a band together, I just couldn’t take it anymore.
That is the day I said “My hope is that this can be amicable.” The words sounded like someone else had spoken them. It was like being outside of my body watching someone else deliver these painful words. But, it was me saying it. And we all said it.
We had our say sitting in our jam room in Oakland. Dave said it. Joseph (our manager) said it. Phil said it. We all said that we couldn’t take being in a band with him anymore. That if this didn’t happen, we were going to break up the band. It was hard. One of the hardest moments of my life. It was also a long time coming. We may have fired Adam on 2-11-13, but Adam quit Machine Head well over a decade ago. He just never bothered to tell anyone… but we all knew it.
Contrary to popular belief, being in a band is tough. Really fucking tough. It’s the toughest sonofabitch you’ll ever come across in your life and it will beat the living shit out of you 80% of the time. Many times it feels like one big rollercoaster, the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. There are wins and losses seemingly every single day. Being in a band is one of life’s strangest gambles.
But when you do win, when you win that 20%, well… it truly is salvation. It’s what makes eating the other 80% of that shit-sandwich bearable. It’s where “those” stories come from. It can be the best job you’ll ever have and unquestionably one of the hardest you’ll ever have. But until you’ve done it for 20+ years, you have no clue. Until you’ve held a band together for 20+ years, you really don’t know jack shit about it.
You think you do.
You don’t.
A band is a dysfunctional family. A brotherhood, a family business, and a renaissance-era-court. You’re room-mates in studio-apartment-on-wheels for years-at-a-time, 24-hours-a-day. Plus you’re in the pressure cooker of the spotlight, every move analyzed, read into, or attacked. Everybody wants something from you, everybody wants to be your friend, everybody loves you, everybody can do so-much-better-for-you-than-the-people-you-have-now. Some people try and turn you against each other, and everyone wants to take credit for your success.
Often time you’re enemies. At odds and fighting about something, but “pretending” everything is “fine” onstage.
But it isn’t…
You just wear a mask that looks like it’s fine, and after 20 years, we know that mask so well, it slides on way too fuckin’ easy.
Adam hasn’t been happy in this band for a long time. But how do you leave? To a guy like Adam everything is either winning or losing. A stunning victory or the ultimate failure. There was no in-between. And while that sounds great for a TV show or an interview-sound-bite, or even a John Wayne movie that wraps up in 90 minutes… life just isn’t like that.
And life certainly isn’t like that for a band like Machine Head. A band who operate in the upper-middle-tier. For us, there are no stunning victories, only respectable wins. No ultimate failures, just better-luck-next-times. We carved a niche, we OWN that niche, but it’s still just a niche. Nothing wrong with that.
No matter how un-happy or fed up he got, quitting the band would be seen as “losing” or a “failure”. Truth be told, he was sick of it. Sick of touring, sick of recording, sick of practicing, sick of looking at album artwork, sick of being-on-a-team-but-never-getting-the-ball, sick of yearning-for-the-honeymoon-to-resume when 20 years deep it never does. Sick of never quite hitting the big-time, sick of carving the niche… sick of caring.
I don’t blame him. It’s hard to keep the passion.
But he just wouldn’t quit.
We wanted him to quit. We were hoping he would quit, “guys, my heart isn’t in this anymore, it was a good run, later dayz”. We didn’t want it to come to this…
But he wouldn’t.
I didn’t feel anything as I drove away from the jam room that night. When I awoke the next morning I didn’t feel anything either. I wasn’t “numb,” I still “felt”, was just kinda blank. But three days after the meeting, an argument broke out in the jam room about how conflicted I felt about it. Then I cried.
I cried and cried.
I’ve cried every day since. I’ve been an emotional wreck. I cried writing this. I was sick the day that we announced it (11 days and 2 General Journals after actually doing it), walking around about to vomit for hours.
I met with him for a couple hours last Wednesday, met with him yesterday. It’s civil.
I don’t know what else to say.
I don’t have some inspirational quote to end with here. I’m not gonna sit here and tell you everything is gonna be all right, or that’s it gonna be the same. At this moment I can’t even bring myself to say that it’s going to be better.
Why?
Because it sucks.
It fucking sucks.
It sucks for everyone who tried to save this.
It sucks more than you can imagine…
It’s a horrible relief.”
Now you know exactly why Duce is no longer part of MACHINE HEAD! We are stoked to see what the NEW chapter of the band will offer.

MACHINE HEAD: Adam Duce Has Left The Building - Official Statement Available!
Wow! Talk about a crazy week. Earlier this week, Dave Lombardo pretty much gets fired from SLAYER... and now this:
"Machine Head and bassist Adam Duce have parted ways. The split is amicable, and Machine Head would like to wish Adam the best with his current and future endeavors. The band will continue on for the time being as a three-piece and have begun the writing process for their follow-up to 2011's 'Unto The Locust'. A late 2013 release is projected."
Duce was a founding member of the band and a pretty decent bass player. Whoever MACHINE HEAD chooses to replace him, has huge shoes to fill.
This is what Robb Flynn had to say about the bands NEW sonic assult: "Dave [McClain, drums], Phil [Demmel, guitar] and I practiced the other day and it was a really productive first jam session. McClain had about five rockin' riffs, Demmel brought in the skeleton of what feels like a great song and I had a few riffs that we rocked on, no full songs, but solid riffs. It felt good, good to be moving on from [2011's 'Unto The Locust']. Super proud of that record, but it's time to move on, and we're ready to move on. Bring on the future with an open embrace."

Peter Dolving Responds To Internet Bashing Following Harsh Words Towards His Former THE HAUNTED Bandmates!
Earlier this week, former THE HAUNTED singer Peter Dolving posted a lengthy statement on the reasons behind his decision to quit the band. One comment that caused a lot of reactions within the internet world was this one: "Anders and Jonas Bjoerler are two of the most fuc*ed up emotionally dysfunctional pieces of sh*t I have ever worked with"!
Dolving has posted another statement in order to clarify his reasons for going public with the group's dirty laundry. Here it is:
"So regarding my statement on THE HAUNTED; I am not looking for drama. Fuck that. I am not carrying a grudge. I'm simply putting the reality of their actions on the table.
"If I would have continued shutting my mouth about I would just have continued participating in the dysfunctionality. I have chosen not to. I have music, creativity, love and shitloads of really cool fans who are not interested in belittling introverts and trolls on Blabbermouth.
"If you like AT THE GATES, THE HAUNTED and even the twins [THE HAUNTED/AT THE GATES guitarist Anders Björler and bassist Jonas Björler], that's perfectly alright. It good to have something to like.
"No one is taking anything from their artistry; they are skilled and talented. You don't have to take sides. Seriously. I just don't want it to be some deep dark secret. That type of shit wears life out.
"My rage and actual bitterness is perfectly justified. They took food from my table. Anyone who's ever been laid off or screwed will identify.
"Now, on the other hand, if my art, my words, my thoughts provoke you, that just reveals your intolerance. Which is fucking sad, because because it's 2012, and carrying around moral codes and a view on reality as if it 1912, is just, well, really really fucking sad. Really.
"The world my friends, is changing. We can push forward or fight it it, but it's not going to stop it. Things change. Normality is not being a conservative dick, held back by fear and intolerance. Normality is the air between you and me, all those other things are you inside you, in battle with reality.
"Just saying."

Peter Dolving breaks his silence on why we left THE HAUNTED: "Anders and Jonas Bjoerler are two of the most fuc*ed up emotionally dysfunctional pieces of sh*t I have ever worked with"
"I've taken my time in trying to figure out what went wrong and why everything eventually went to shit.
"I left The Haunted back early this spring because I had fucking had it with dysfunctional bullshit.
"I knew it was there, fuck, I left the band once before, but at that time I didn't know as much about emotional dysfunctionality and just how fucking cynical people could be.
"When I left, we were a bunch of sad fucking dudes. There was no love in it. None. And really, I doubt very much there had ever been any. In fact I deeply question whether Anders and Jonas Bjoerler have the slightest clue what deep loving friendships, joy and caring is even about. They think in terms of 'Me, me, me, me, mine, mine' to the fullest and most complete.
"The reason I up and said 'fuck it' was this; There were drugs involved within the band, and crew members who's alcoholism/drug abuse was just overlooked and ignored because the individuals in question was cheaper than anyone else and delivered the goods. Local promoters and crew were being treated like they were some kind of underlings and promoters were required to get drugs, even in places as extremely high risk as China and Thailand. Drugs were smuggled.
"I am certain they will comment this to make themselves 'free of responsibility' but when addiction is involved in a group there is no such thing as 'Me me me'. One either says 'No.' Or accepts the mutual responsibility. That's how it works, that's the adult way of dealing with that type of dilemma. Not scapegoating individuals with a fucking disease.
"I have 2 beautiful and amazing kids that I fucking love and respect. I have overcome addiction myself and one of the things I've learned is to not make fucking compromises. For the sake of my kids I need to know that I'm getting home. That I'm getting payed. That no one gets busted for drugs and my kids have to read about their dad's band getting busted in the paper. It's a nasty and very mean-spirited little world out there, one needs a bit of mutual respect and care. Having a backbone is necessary.
"I brought the subject up for discussion. I always did. With everything that was fucking with band-spirit.
"The response I received was that the no one else minded and that obviously I was the one who had the problem. My problem was caring.
"The day the Bjoerlers decided to tell tell us about the At The Gates "Farewell-tour"( The Farewell tour now on it's third year...) we were releasing and promoting 'Versus'.
"They told us that they would only do 14 shows. They are still touring....
"They have really cashed in to the fullest. Good for them. It's good to have money in a capitalist world.
"Jensen is the one who saw clearly what was up.
"The moment they told us, his response was 'You know this is going to kill The Haunted.' The Twins were both extremely defensive about it, and now we know why. They were lying out their ass.
"Jensen ain't no dumb-ass. He made another Witchery record, toured like a sonofabitch with his project and got a degree in the meantime.
"Good for him.
"It's good to have a degree in a capitalist world.
"I caught on slower, but I figured it was fucking ridiculously slow that making 'Unseen' took 2 years. I must have written 40 fucking songs for that record. Every time I presented something it wasn't 'played well enough to really hear what's going on' or 'it's not the Haunted'. Jonas presented some amazing ideas. But there was no heart.
"I actually gave up on that band in the process.
"The twins were unwilling to the extreme. They didn't like the rehearsal space, so we tried working here at the house, which is an incredibly beautiful environment. But that was uncomfortable. It was too warm. It was too demanding talking to each other. At one point I told Jonas 'Dude, you don't even listen to what people say do you?', 'Yes I do!' 'So what did I just talk about?' He tried explaining what he thought I had said and made it clear that he'd stopped listening after I had finished my first sentence. They disliked working with Tue Madsen. Quietly whining like spoiled 5-year olds. It became so clear that they just don't care. About anyone else, except the absolute closest to themselves. Completely indifferent, unless there would be consequences that affect them.
"No. They don't have kids. Thank Lucifer.
"The only one who actually gave me real feedback was Per Möller Jensen.
"Jensen's ideas, I really gave it my all to make good songs out of and it was happening, but the twins just didn't want to use them or even work on them.
"Eventually we had an album. Some like it, some don't. Jonas booked shows. As he did for At The Gates. But the band was fucking dead.
"The last touring we did just clarified it all too fine. Hours and hours of silence. Like always with The Haunted. Silence. Indifference.
"I am not a very cheerful person. I prefer working to hanging out. Because I love my work more than I love people. I don't lie or pretend it's any other way. But anyone who knows me will testify that I am not a lying, unloyal, uncaring, indifferent fucking prick who's emotional incapacities render me void of treating people respectfully.
"This is what I have to say; Anders and Jonas Bjoerler are two of the most fucked up emotionally dysfunctional pieces of shit I have ever worked with except for Petri H Lunden (who is a full-blown psychopath). I would have given them my fucking life.
"They would barely break a sweat in return.
"Rock n roll for me is about love, hate, life and how we live it. It's vivid, aware, right here. Indifference and shutting each other off is the diametric opposite. Watching your back because you care more about your pension-plan than your fellow travelers, avoiding confrontations because one is lazy and a coward etc. is just not fucking cutting it.
"They broke my fucking heart.
"In my eyes Anders and Jonas Bjoerler are nothing more than two deceptive accountants. I'm sure they are many other things as well.
"But one thing they will never ever have again, is my respect, my trust or care.
"Now here's the pun; Writing this, will be, to them; Over-reacting.
"I have damn near killed myself working to get back on my feet after this whole fuck of a botched cock-up. I am not over-reacting. Fuck. I don't even know if Per Möller Jensen is alive. I haven't heard from him for months, and the last six months I was still in the band he was homeless.
"I am not over-reacting.
"The facts remains; They lied. They fucked the other three of us. And they pissed all over every single moment of passion, pain and awe we shared. And to me, that means that they fucked all The Haunted's and At The Gates fans too.
"Because I truthfully don't think they ever really felt it. I truthfully believe them to be too emotionally disturbed.
"I give this back to them.
"Sad sad sad."

BLOOD FOR BLOOD Fire singer following alleged Rape scandal; Band might have to call it a day!
This past June, Boston's BLOOD FOR BLOOD was forced to cancel a couple of shows that were scheduled to take place in their hometown and in New York City due to a situation involving [vocalist] 'Buddha' (Erick Medina). But why were the "Wasted Nights" shows cancelled?
According to a source close to the band, an "accusation of rape was made against 'Buddha' about a month ago, but at this time I have no details regarding this except for he was arrested and booked for rape. I tried texting him on Monday but haven't heard back from him."
Allegedly, the incident happened at a BBQ during Memorial Day weekend where 'Buddha" got drunk (which he is famous for) and jokingly pinned a 13 year old girl against a wall and then forcefully kissing her as she struggled. This incident is being investigated by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Family.
Today, the band has announced that 'Buddha' is no longer in the band and that their future (including the completion of their seventh album, the band's first since 2004's 'Serenity') is very uncertain:
"Make no mistake, the nature of the alleged activity, true or false, is an affront to EVERYTHING this band is about. Some of the members of this band have been mistreated and abused as a children, personally. We would never, COULD never ignore, condone, or even associate with such behavior. At this time we are too emotionally drained to make plans for the band's future, but due to the nature of these allegations, we feel it is impossible to continue with anyone linked to such allegations, thus, whatever the future holds for Blood For Blood, it will not include Erick. Lastly, We are unable to make concrete plans for the band's future."

FEAR FACTORY Announce Tour Cancellation Due To Reasons Beyond Their Control!
Due to reasons well beyond the band’s control, FEAR FACTORY will not be taking part in this Summer’s "Shockwave Tour", slated to commence tomorrow (July 6) in Seattle.
Commented the band in a collective statement: "We are truly disappointed not to be part of the 'Shockwave Tour'. We send our sincerest apologies to all our North American fans planning to come out this Summer, but we will be back. Please look for FEAR FACTORY headlining dates in August."
Added Shockwave organizers: "It is with great disappointment that we have to make this announcement. With the recent departure of VOIVOD from the Shockwave festival lineup, as well as low advance ticket sales, we have decided to pull the plug on the Shockwave festival.
"For purchases made with a credit card, your card will automatically be refunded. All other refunds are available at point of purchase.
"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused."
FEAR FACTORY recently unleashed their latest full-length, 'The Industrialist' via Candlelight Records. Commended by Revolver in a 4/5 review for offering up "the same pulsating, angry urgency of old… nicely counterbalanced by some incredibly deft melodies", called "…a well-orchestrated montage of universal agitation and despair", by Alarm, and crowned "…their most aggressive offering to date", by Exclaim, 'The Industrialist' is the second album written by vocalist Burton C. Bell and guitarist Dino Cazares since reuniting in 2009 after a seven-year split.

LIFE OF AGONY Calls It Quits; Statement From Sal Abruscato Available!
Sal Abruscato from A Pale Horse Named Death (his NEW band), has an extensive history in the Heavy Music world thanks to his stellar work with Life Of Agony and Type O Negative, in which his role was to kick ass on the drums.
With Type O Negative he recorded: "Slow, Deep & Hard", "Origin Of The Feces", and "Bloody Kisses", while with Life Of Agony he recorded "River Runs Red", "Ugly", "River Runs Again", and "Broken Valley".
Abruscato was recently interviewed by Maciej Szatko in Wroclaw, Poland. This is what he had to say when asked about the future of Life Of Agony:
"We're not gonna play [anymore]. We moved out of our studio. We all kind of feel like we're at the end. We're never gonna make another record, because of those kinds of problems I was talking about [earlier in the interview] — we can't agree on writing a song. And Keith [Caputo, vocals] wants to pursue his life and his lifestyle. And that's pretty much the reason why also I've moved on and I'm doing my own thing… to just keep going; I didn't want my career to stop with Life Of Agony. Life Of Agony doesn't tour, Life Of Agony doesn't do much. And so we were at a point where it was like… We did the last three shows in July [2011] and then we moved out of our studio, and that's it. I don't foresee anything in the future; I highly doubt it. I don't know how that would happen."
