NEUROSIS Reveal Album Artwork & Track Listing For 'Honor Found In Decay'!

Anticipation for Honor Found In Decay, the tenth studio album by NEUROSIS, is starting to intensify, as we count down the days until its North American release date on October 30th. Like an eclipse, a brand new NEUROSIS album is not a frequent occurrence and when it comes around, every last moment must be savored. For this momentous event, all the forces are aligned.

NEUROSIS forged the songs on Honor Found In Decay with the revered Steve Albini, marking their fifth collaboration with the engineer in their longstanding relationship. Their monolithic sound captured at Electrical Audio studios, Chicago, the seven tracks were then mastered by John Golden at Golden Mastering in Ventura, California.

And with that, we proudly unveil the cover art and track listing for this prodigious album, which is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases in the band's extensive history. haarp Is Ready To Jam With DOWN; NEW Album Due Out In September!

New Orleans Metallers, haarp, will embark on an eight-date journey next month supporting DOWN. Set to commence on September 21 in Saint Louis, Missouri, the band will bring their sonic wreckage through the Midwest and down the East Coast, coming to a close on September 29 in Sayreville, New Jersey. See confirmed dates below.

haarp will be touring in support of their soon-to-be-unleashed 'Husks' full-length. Set for release on September 18, 2012 through Housecore Records, the follow-up to 2010’s 'The Filth' was recorded at the University of New Orleans Performing Arts Center, Fountainbleau Room 7011, and Nodferatu’s Lair by Philip H. Anselmo, engineered by Steve Berrigan and Nathan Weidenhaft and mastered at Visceral Sounds by Scott Hull.

Said HeavyPlanet in an early review of the three-song beast: “Planting their feet as sludge Metal gods, haarp take their time trimming the fat and let the truth simmer. Between the sludge barrages and atmospheric back roads is tempered, expertly-timed black gold. The band's proficient but patient approach is lined with beautifully rich and vile vision. Husks isn't merely another NOLA sludge-Metal record; it's a sonic catapult for a band wholly deserving of every accolade they accrue. Take a walk through these rotting woods and sink with your sorrow. When the animals finally smell your stink, haarp will be waiting.” Adds Metal Underground: “This album is very balanced, as its some of the heaviest stuff ever made, but with those tones of airiness and ambiance that lift it up just enough…. Quite possibly haarp's best album.”

For pre-order info, point your browser HERE.

haarp tour 2012 with Down:

- 9/21/2012: Pop's Nightclub in Saint Louis, Mo
- 9/22/2012: House of Blues Chicago in Chicago, IL
- 9/23/2012: The Crofoot in Pontiac, MI
- 9/25/2012: House of Blues Boston in Boston, MA
- 9/26/2012: Electric Factory in Philadelphia, PA
- 9/27/2012: Mojo Main in Newark, DE
- 9/28/2012: Best Buy Theater in New York, NY
- 9/29/2012: Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ

Due to unforeseen events which occurred late in the summer of 2005, members of various disbanded projects came together to forge haarp. Featuring a collective of New Orleans grindcore, punk, and metal scene alumni, haarp embody the murk, decay, and oppression associated with their home city. haarp’s music is a visceral wall of low-end sound; its lyrics a journey through despair, hatred, self loathing, and aggression. haarp will be decimating a city near you. Further details to be announced in the coming days.

NEUROSIS Reveal Title Of 11th Studio Album!

It is said that great art has the power to take us outside of ourselves and bring us closer to ourselves simultaneously. Few bands have accomplished this rare feat on a more profound and consistent basis than NEUROSIS. For nearly three decades, their music has touched the hearts and minds of young men and women seeking contact with something beyond the physical world, something intangible, something that expresses the inner tumult of the human condition in a way that transcends time and space. Something that not only provokes questions but maybe even hints at answers.

Since 1985 this matchless force has surpassed the boundaries of any genre, never ceasing to mutate and progress their songwriting and sonic delivery, and never failing to mesmerize audiences both in the studio and onstage. And as the anticipation from their diehard fanbase reaches a boiling point, this week NEUROSIS unveil the title of their eleventh full-length studio creation, which will manifest itself as 'Honor Found In Decay'.

The follow-up to their acclaimed 2007-released 'Given To The Rising' album, the music on 'Honor Found In Decay' is both torturous and transcendent. It is the ongoing exposition of a vast internal dialogue that seems to carry the weight of eons. With the right kind of ears and eyes, it can seem like the trials and tribulations of mankind are being channeled through five individuals: Steve Von Till, Scott Kelly, Noah Landis, Jason Roeder and Dave Edwardson. And yet? They will be the first ones to tell you that they are just regular people trying to make sense of the world around them. Aided by Josh Graham, their resident visual guru, they transmit their interpretations through multiple sensory planes. The degree to which NEUROSIS allows them to step out of their everyday lives is the distance between one and zero, the distance between thinking and doing, the distance between this minute and the one that may or may not follow. Which is to say: NEUROSIS takes them outside of themselves and brings them closer to themselves. Simultaneously.

This next chapter in the evolution of NEUROSIS will see worldwide release through the band’s own Neurot Recordings this Autumn, in Germany October 26th, in the UK October 29th, and in North America on October 30th.

Further details on 'Honor Found In Decay' will be made available over the coming weeks.

NEUROSIS is:

- Scott Kelly: Vocals/Guitars
- Steve Von Till: Vocals/Guitars
- Dave Edwardson: Bass
- Jason Roeder: Drums
- Noah Landis: Keyboards
- Josh Graham: Visual effects, art

Update On NEUROSIS' NEW Album

The Kings of Atmospheric Sludge Metal Neurosis have had a very extensive career. Ever since their formation in 1985 they have revolutionized music and have never stopped reinventing their sonic adventures in the music industry. They have consciously tapped into the elusive wellspring where resonance and dissonance collude, circling emotional poles where nothing is withheld, where the psyche screams for answers to Earth's ancient mysteries.

Today it was announced, that NEUROSIS has finished mixing its long-awaited NEW studio album. The follow-up to 2007's 'Given To The Rising' was recorded last November and is due out before the end of the year.

Stay tuned for more updates on the reissue and on Neurosis actions as a whole throughout 2012!

Jimmy Bower From EYEHATEGOD & DOWN Gets Married By Mike Williams - Images Available!

Guitarist and drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, DOWN) is officially married to the love of his life: Dana Kieferle Bower. And guess who married them? Noneother than Mike Williams, who is EYEHATEGOD's scremaer! Now, that's METAL!

We want to congratulate them and wish them a life full of joy!

Upcoming EYEHATEGOD shows:

- 05/24/2012 Maryland Deathfest @ Sonar: Baltimore, MD

Eyehategod unleashed their Live DVD last year via MVD. The 88-minute production features multi-camera footage from 2009 (Baltimore, MD) and 2010 (Cleveland, OH), with bonus clips from the last show of their 2010 European tour and videos never before released before on DVD. Commented popular Canadian web portal Hellbound in a recent review of the film: "Trust Eyehategod to put out a live DVD that looks like a fifth-generation VHS bootleg from 25 years ago. And bless ‘em for it. After all, the pure grit and amateurishness of the way the two live sets on Live are shot are far more appropriate for the New Orleans sludge legends than, say, a lavish light show, crane shots galore, and a five-channel surround mix. Nah, instead we’re privy to poorly lit, hand-held shots from various angles, most of which are right smack in the middle of the chaos the band is creating, and sound quality that’s muddy and distorted. It looks and sounds absolutely filthy, and it’s perfect." Added Cvlt Nation simply: "...a piece of Eyehategod cinematic history." A perfect dose of Black Flag meets Black Sabbath in ragged, live glory. Order your copy HERE where you'll also find a new selections of T-shirts and hoodies.

HULL To Be Featured In TLC's 'Cake Boss: The Next Great Baker' Tonight!

Brooklyn sludge rock ensemble HULL will ring in the New Year with an appearance on The Learning Channel's 'Cake Boss: The Next Great Baker' this Monday, January 16, 2012 at 9:00 PM EST. 'The Cake Boss: The Next Great Baker' is a TLC series hosted by Buddy Valastro, the star of his own reality series, 'Cake Boss'. The show features contestants participating in challenges that test their baking and decorating skills.

Commented guitarist/vocalist N. Palmirotto: "We received this email from a production manager from the TV show, The Next Great Baker, a Cake Boss spin off, asking us if we would like to perform on the show. It was during the time that the Big Four were in town, and Megadeth were originally asked to perform for Mauro's birthday -- Mauro Castano is the Cake Boss' right-hand man and brother-in-law -- as he was always a big metalhead back in the day, but Megadeth couldn't do it for whatever reason. HULL was mentioned at a board meeting, and low and behold, they contacted us. We showed up in Hoboken on a rainy afternoon to a huge production. They had us set up and perform on top of two box trucks while the contestants displayed their best attempts at metal-themed birthday cakes. It was truly a one of a kind experience, and we are very much looking forward to Episode 8, Headbanging Bakers, on January 16th."

HULL recently unleashed their Beyond The Lightless Sky opus, which continues to earn critical praise from fans and media alike. Released via The End Records, Beyond The Lightless Sky was co-produced by Brett Romnes, mixed by Billy Anderson (Sleep, Neurosis, Melvins, et al).and features guest appearances by vocalist Jarboe, keys/ambiance by Fade Kainer(Batillus/Jarboe/Inswarm ) and cello by Joe Merolla with artwork by Tamara Waite-Santibanez.

EYEHATEGOD Set To Destroy Brooklyn, NY With A Slew Of Special Guests!

Following the sonic devastation that was their performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest earlier this month, New Orleans' hardcore, blues-based, post-amplification, dirge-doers Eyehategod are set to destroy Brooklyn, NY!

Commented front-man Mike Williams on the next round of pummel: "Following an amazing dark and cloudy show at Austin's Fun Fun Fun fest, America's drunkest sweethearts will set off on yet another East Coast exploration and research field trip into the age old tradition of self-abuse."

EYEHATEGOD Tour Dates 2011/2012:

- 12/02/2011 Wonderland Ballroom (Formerly Club Lido): Boston, MA
- 12/03/2011 Jimmy's: Allentown, PA
- 12/04/2011 Europa: Brooklyn, NY w/ Doomriders, Hull, Knight Terror
- 01/21/2012 Sonar: Baltimore, MD w/ Integrity 9 (A389 Anniversary Show)
- 05/24/2012 Maryland Deathfest @ Sonar: Baltimore, MD

Eyehategod unleashed their Live DVD earlier this year via MVD.

The band will level Boston, Allentown and Brooklyn beginning December 2.

Neurosis to Reissue Classic "Sovereign" EP!

The reissue of their classic EP titled "Sovereign" will be released in North America on September 12, 2011. Neurosis is currently plotting more live appearances for the coming months, and as they continue to culminate their energies into the band's upcoming new full-length release.

Originally unveiled in 2000, the "Sovereign EP" was the first release that the band did through the band's own record label called Neurot Recordings, with the vinyl pressing handled by Hydra Head. "Sovereign" served as a millennial segue between two of the band's two revered full-lengths of that era; "Times Of Grace" (1999) and "A Sun That Never Sets" (2001)

Sovereign Reissue Track Listing:
1. Prayer
2. An Offering
3. Flood
4. Sovereign
5. Misgiven* [newly released track]

The EP is a psychotropic experience of the highest order. And to top that off, this Neurot Recordings CD reissue also includes a previously unreleased fifth track, with the inescapably feedback-tormented hymn "Misgiven" closing out the reissue, added as a special bonus to this repressing of the recordings. The reissue comes bound in an O-Card/jewel case setup like the other recent Neurosis reissues, with artwork completely redesigned and updated by Aaron Turner.

The band has recently reissued the following albums:
- Souls At Zero (1992)
- Enemy Of The Sun (1993)

Check out the new cover, live footage of Neurosis performing at this year's Maryland Deathfest:

Stay tuned for more updates on the reissue and on Neurosis actions as a whole throughout 2012!

Riffing It Up with Kirk Windstein

Kirk Windstein is synonymous to crushing riffs that seek vulnerable ears and destroy them without mercy. His guitar tone is recognizable by millions of Heavy Music fans worldwide, and as result imitated by almost every band out there. Many can try to sound like Kirk, but there is only one man that can handle being in three successful bands, being a father, and a soon to be husband.

After being an active musician for almost 25 years, you would think that Kirk is ready to slow down and lay back. The truth of the matter is that when it comes to the circle of hard-hitting musicians that come from New Orleans, they play music from the heart and not even a devastating hurricane can stop them from spreading their music like a wild fire.

Taking it easy has never been part of Kirk’s ritual; the man is by far one of the hardest working musicians in Heavy Music today. Not only does he lead Crowbar, but he is also a vital part of the mighty Down and Jamey Jasta’s right hand man in Kingdom Of Sorrow. He is also working on a solo record that he hopes to release sometime this year (more details in the video interview).

During Crowbar’s recent stop in New York City for the Metalliance Tour, we sat down to chat with Kirk about life on the road, his music and how after 25 years he decided to leave his boozing years behind in order to focus on his family. This exclusive interview took place in side Irving Plaza as the fans were arriving to catch one of the best tours of the year.

Before we get into the interview, here are some facts about Kirk Windstein:

- Kirk was born in Middlesex, England on April 14, 1965.

- His career started in 1987 when he joined a band called Victorian Blitz as guitarist. The band was a Judas Priest and Iron Maiden cover band.

- Today he sings and plays guitar in Crowbar, Down, and Kingdom of Sorrow.

DISCOGRAPHY:

- Obedience Thru Suffering: released on September 26, 1991
- Crowbar: released on October 12, 1993
- Live +1 (EP): released on March 29,1994
- Time Heals Nothing: released on May 23, 1995
- Broken Glass: released on October 29, 1996
- Odd Fellows Rest: released on July 7, 1998
- Equilibrium: released on March 7, 2000
- Sonic Excess in its Purest Form: released on August 8, 2001
- Lifesblood for the Downtrodden: released on February 9, 2005
- Sever the Wicked Hand: released on February 2011

- NOLA: released on September 19,1995
- Down II: A Bustle in Your Hedgerow : March 26, 2002
- Down III: Over the Under: September 25, 2007
- Down IV: TBD

- Kingdom of Sorrow: February 19, 2008
- Behind the Blackest Tears: June 8, 2010

Without further due, here is the exclusive interview we did with riff master Kirk Windstein, in which he discusses life as a touring musician, his future musical plans and how he was able to get his life back on track.

We want to thank Kirk, Bill Meis at EOne Music and Steve Seabury!
