Listen To THY WILL BE DONE's NEW Song Today At 8 PM ET On SiriusXM's Liquid Metal!

Rhode Island's THY WILL BE DONE recently completed work on a brand NEW EP that is slated for release later this summer. The band, renowned for their DIY approach, engineered the EP themselves and teamed up once again with acclaimed Metal producer Zeuss to mix their six brand NEW studio tracks. With influences and roots that harkens the listener back to Metal's glory days, and songs and arrangements that echo the voice of the oppressed and broken, the end result is a release that brings hope and far surpasses its predecessors, and in all aspects possesses the capabilities of cementing THY WILL BE DONE's position in the Metal world. More details, including title and release date will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Check out a video preview for the EP below.

Today frontman J. Costa will be appearing on SiriusXM's Liquid Metal with Jose Mangin to exclusively premiere a NEW track from the forthcoming EP. The interview and song will take place at 8:00 PM EST.

J. Costa commented on the NEW EP:

"There's always a sense of accomplishment when unveiling a piece of expression that we've created. Personally, what makes this not so much different as much as special, is that it represents my rediscovery of exactly why I enjoy expressing myself through the medium of music.

The songs on the EP are the core of what initially came together musically as well as lyrically after enduring what seemed like a whirlwind of tribulations: the passing of several relatives, infidelity, having 2 friends diagnosed with disease, and having one of my best friends out of my life for a period of time. All these events occurred within a span of 18 months and I almost stopped everything.

I wanted to express the subconscious and the suffering to illustrate the subjective emotions and responses that these events caused to ignite within me.

There's an immense physical and emotional force behind our live performances, and it was important for us to really convey that through this recording. In our opinion, the selection of songs as well as the production of this EP coalesced into a release that really exemplifies that energy."

THY WILL BE DONE will be taking part in the "Orion Music + More Festival" curated by METALLICA. The event is set for Saturday June 23rd and Sunday June 24th at Bader Field in Atlantic City, NJ. More information can be found at: http://www.orionmusicandmore.com

Following their appearance at the "Orion Music + More Festival" the band will be headed to Japan for a co-headlining tour with Japanese crossover legends The Aggressive Dogs. The tour will kick off on June 29th in Kasihwa and runs through July 8th in Nagoya. A list of confirmed dates can be found below.

With this current line-up of J. Costa on vocals, Kurt Fraunfelter on rhythm guitar, Chris Drapeau on lead guitar, Brendan Misturado on bass and Jay Waterman on drums, a plethora of foreign and domestic performances, and literally hundreds of thousands of miles traveled, it appears that values and drive mixed with an old school metal and rock 'n' roll upbringing have brought together a juggernaut of a band that's clearing a path with a working-class ideology.

THY WILL BE DONE represents another chapter in the evolution of Heavy Metal. Their 2012 dose blends the thrash and groove elements that offered some of the late eighties and early nineties most memorable bands and albums, and yes, there are even solos too. THY WILL BE DONE is poised and ready to continue the heavy metal lineage and illuminate a new generation with the ways of the old.

THY WILL BE DONE Tour Dates:

Today We Remember Mario Comesanas: Gone, Still Rocking & NEVER Forgotten!

One year ago, when we heard the sad news that Mario Comesanas had passed away at the young age of 30 from a brain hemorrhage that was caused by a rare form of leukemia, we were completely shocked and saddened. Mario, we miss you brother!

Throughout his career in music, Mario left his mark as been a genuine, passionate, and charismatic guy. Ever since he started doing radio at WSOU 89.5 FM with a show called "Hardcore Reality", it was evident that Mario was a huge supporter of Heavy Music and that he wanted to devote his career to all things heavy.

Soon after he graduated from Seton Hall University, he joined Sirius Satellite Radio (now Sirius XM) and started working with Jose Mangin as a DJ in Hard Attack (now Liquid Metal). During his tenure there, he also started working with Revolver Magazine at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, were he hosted artist meet and greets and did tons of marketing work for the magazine. Before his passing, Mario had joined the independent label distributor RED Distribution.

Mario was also the singer of December Aeternalis, and most recently, Low Road. Ironically, we had plans to book Low Road for the first Horns Up Rocks show in New Jersey. This never happened.

Please put your Horns Up for Mario Comesanas, our Metal and Hardcore brother!

"NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT I DON'T COUNT THE BLESSINGS AT MY DOOR!!!!!!"-Mario Comesanas (Low Road)

Mario's last interview was with New York Hard Core legends Agnostic Front, a day before the 2011 Black N Blue Bowl! This song is dedicated to Mario, keep rocking in Peace brother!

Mario, in behalf of the entire Heavy Music community: Thank you so much for everything you did for all of us! You are not forgotten and we all love you!

Howard Stern talks about the Passing of Mario Comesanas

The King of all Media, Howard Stern, got the sad news about the untimely death of his colleague Mario Comesanas from Sirius XM Liquid Metal and this is what he had to say:

"I was reading about a guy, worked here at Sirius. I didn't know him but this is pretty sad. His name was Mario Comesanas, he was one of the hosts at Sirius XM's Liquid Metal channel. He was working here for ten years, 30 year old guy. He had a fiance, family, friends and stuff. Evidently for those in the Liquid Metal fan area, they really liked this guy. Mario was dedicated to Heavy Metal Music. He died from an aggressive form of leukemia at thirty years old."

The Liquid Metal Mario Comesanas Obituary (Starring: Jamey Jasta, Joey Z & Roger Miret)

It is with heavy hearts that we here at Sirius XM say farewell to our fellow metal soldier and Liquid Metal host Mario Comesanas… Mario peacefully passed away the evening of June 13th in Jersey City, New Jersey due to an aggressive form of leukemia from which Mario was very recently diagnosed with…he was 30 years young… Our thoughts are with his fiancé, family, friends & fans worldwide…

“Hey everybody this is Jamey from Hatebreed. He was a really great guy. Always looked out for me. Great supporter of Hardcore and Heavy Metal and this is just such a huge loss for the scene. Guys like Mario are few and far between. I'm really just deeply saddened by this. My deepest sympathies to Sirius XM Liquid Metal Listeners and Marios family and close friends, my heart goes out to you.”

Mario started his radio career at Seton Hall’s Pirate radio station in NJ then joined the Sirius XM family back in 2002 where he came on as one of the original satellite metal DJs… since then he’s help spread heavy metal music & more importantly hardcore music to a massive audience both on and off the air, through his work with Revolver Magazine & RED Distribution & of course in his own bands December Aeternalis & more recently Low Road, who just finished recording their debut with Joey Z from Life Of Agony producing…

“This is Joey Z from Life Of Agony. Mario was a genuine caring friend. Most enthusiastic person you'll ever meet. We had the greatest time. He dropped some great, great vocal tracks. He's the type of person that always knew what he wanted, and worked hard to get it. He just left a little too young. From all of us, we love you brother. We'll never forget you.”

Mario’s passion for music, energy, spirit, laugh & attitude towards life, video games & metal will live on forever….

“Mario my brother this is Roger from Agnostic Front. Everything we've done together, musically, that kind of stuff, that’s true brotherhood that lives forever. The Superbowl [of Hardcore], all the bands you love I love, all the great New York bands. Just want to say that your dedication, your commitment, was one of those that stood the test of time. And I could just see you out there, taking a stage dive for Hardcore. For the love of it all man. You’re a good dude brother. God rest your soul.”

Rest in Peace dear friend… you will be missed and never forgotten… Heaven just got heavier…

Remembering Ronnie James Dio

One year ago the Heavy Music community lost one of the most charismatic, charming, and down to earth rockers in history. Ronnie James Dio is the emblem of Horns Up Rocks, not just because he popularized the "devil horns" (the Horns Up Rocks logo), but also because he was one of the most humble musicians ever. Not one person that had the privilege to meet Dio has one bad thing to say about him and always comment on what a great role model he was. Any musician out there reading this, should take note of Ronnie James Dio, a legend that will never be forgotten and will keep influencing musicians forever.

Here are some facts about the great Ronnie James Dio:

- RJD was an Italian-American Heavy Metal vocalist and songwriter.

- He performed with: Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, and his band Dio.

- Considered the most powerful singer in Heavy Metal history.

- Ranked as one of the greatest Rock vocalists of all time.

- Credited with popularizing the "devil horns" hand gesture in Metal culture.

- Prior to his death he was collaborating with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinny Appice, on a new Heaven & Hell album, which would have been the following to "The Devil You Know", released on April 28, 2009.

- Dio died of stomach cancer on May 16, 2010.

- One of the last songs he recorded was titled "Metal Will Never Die".

Cavalera Conspiracy return with a "Blunt Force Trauma"

Whenever you put the Cavalera brothers (Max and Iggor) inside a jam room, nobody is safe! As we all know, the Cavalera brothers formed the legendary Brazilian Heavy Metal band Sepultura in 1984, and single handily changed the phase of Heavy Music forever. While neither of them are in Sepultura anymore, they are still spreading artistic terrorism with the music that they have been creating with Cavalera Conspiracy. The other members of the band include: guitar virtuoso Mark Rizzo and bassist Johnny Chow.

Their second album is titled "Blunt Force Trauma" and it will be in stores on Tuesday March 29, 2011. After spinning the record numerous times, at different times of the day, on different days... here is the Official Horns Up Rocks review:

Ever since we heard the first Cavalera Conspiracy album titled "Inflikted" (Released on March 24, 2008), we were immediately hooked with this amazing band. From the get-go, we felt the power behind the songs that we have missed ever since the Cavalera brothers recorded Sepultura's "Roots" in 1995. The only missing element that Cavalera Conspiracy were lacking on "Inflikted", was the redefining of their musical craft that can only be done once a band tours endlessly and learns about each others musical strengths and weaknesses. This is exactly what they proved on their new album "Blunt Force Trauma"

As soon as we started listening to the opening track titled "Warlord", our blood started pumping out of control and our ears starting bleeding profusely. Once "Torture" came on, we started understanding the message that Cavalera Conspiracy want to transmit on their new record. One thing we did not expect, which totally blew our minds up, was the duet on "Lynch Mob" between Max and Roger Miret from the legendary New York Hardcore band Agnostic Front! After clearing the air with our fists, we turned the volume even louder and started headbanging to "Killing Inside" and "Thrasher". All of a sudden, "I Speak Hate" came on and we found ourselves headbanging violently out of control (this might be illegal in some countries).

The second half of "Blunt Force Trauma" is kicked off by the song "Target", which lyrically reminds us of Sepultura's song "Territory". Musically speaking "Genghis Khan" has a similar vibe to the first few Sepultura albums. Concluding the record in true Heavy Metal form, Cavalera Conspiracy left the three most brutal songs of the entire record to the very end. By the time you get to the songs "Burn Waco", "Rasputin" and "Blunt Force Trauma", make sure their is nobody surrounding you because they wont be safe!

This record should be bought and owned by every Heavy Music fan worldwide!

Track listing:
- 1) Warlord
- 2) Torture
- 3) Lynch Mob (Featuring Roger Miret of Agnostic Front)
- 4) Killing Inside
- 5) Thrasher
- 6) I Speak Hate
- 7) Target

March Metal Beatdown at Trash Bar

On Saturday March 5th, 2011, Horns Up Rocks and Brutal Bitches Productions presented the "2011 March Metal Beatdown" at The Trash Bar in Brooklyn. The event was hosted by Kara Pain from Sirius XM Liquid Metal and it featured live performances by: Empyreon, Resolution 15, Fenrismaw, Alekhine's Gun, Flames Of Fury, Slam One Down and special guests The Hixon. Additionally, Horns Up Rocks founder Jo Schüftan delivered an epic DJ set in between sets, and the "Queen of Brutal" Alissa Shimansky (Brutal Bitches Productions), provided some sick entertainment which included an evil clown and a sexy hula hoop dancer. Here is what went down from 7 PM until 2 AM!

Empyreon kicked off the night with some furious Metal and despite some technical difficulties, they destroyed! Here is what the fans had to say about their set:

"Really enjoyed seeing your show last night, you guys are awesome!" - Samantha from Connecticut

"Sick show last night! Can't wait till the next one." - Stefan from the Bronx

"So happy to see you guys again... the technical stuff didn't even phase the crowd. You guys sounded great!" - The Crusher (Singer of Alekhine's Gun)

Next up was Resolution 15, who in our opinion are one of the most original bands within the New York Heavy Music scene. Their violin Metal proves that they can shred harder than most bands who actually have guitars. The highlight of their set was having drummer extraordinaire Kenny Grohowski back in town, after he recently laid his father to rest. Not only did Kenny groove the hell out of the Trash Bar but he performed with his other band Hung at Ace of Clubs that same night. Here is what Kenny had to say about this:

"Thank you all who came out to either the Resolution 15 show, the Hung show, or both! (Steve Ventura, Snarky Mamacita, Todd Dupee). It was a magical, albeit, painful night, but i can't think of a better way to come back home. See you guys at the next one!"

Then it was time for the mighty Fenrismaw to deliver their furious demonic Death Metal to a hungry crowd! This was Alissa's pick for the show, and needless to say they were brutal, tight, and very heavy! Check them out:

Nobody was save once Alekhine's Gun pulled the trigger on a crowd of 200 Metal heads who were immediately supplied a lethal dose of dangerous Metal! We could write a whole page on this amazing band (and we have) but we rather show you a picture that truly speaks louder than words:

Once Flames Of Fury took center stage, The Trash Bar was a war zone! The band brought their "A game" and throughout their set they kept everyone on their toes and headbanging. They definitely are a band to keep a close eye on! Here is what the band had to say about their set:

"Thanks to all the friends, and fans of Flames of Fury for coming to our show last night! Although we didn't get to play a full set for you, you guys definitely made it worth the effort :-) - See you soon!"

By the time The Hixon destroyed The Trash Bar with their thrashing chaotic Metal, it was evident that New York City today, has some of the most dedicated and brutal fans when it comes to Heavy Music! Here is what The Hixon's singer Marc Hixon had to say about this:

"New York City is shitting on the Philly and South Jersey Heavy Music scenes and its not even 9:30 yet."

Headlining the "2011 March Metal Beatdown" was Slam One Down! This guys bring the Pantera style of partying and jamming wherever they go. We have no idea how they manage to sound so tight on stage after funneling beers and being the life of the party. We want to thank them for all their help and for putting the pedal to the Metal!

Here is what the Heavy Music familia had to say about "The 2011 March Metal Beatdown":
"The March Metal Beatdown made me feel 14 again. In the PIT, chugging beer, and just having an all around good time with some AMAZING people and incredible musicians! I wish every month was March!!! Thanks to Horns Up Rocks and Brutal Bitches Productions for allowing me to MC this FACE MELTING event! \m/ HORNS UP!" - Kara Pain (Sirius XM Liquid Metal)

"Last night was AMAZING! Sharing the power of Heavy Music with my friends is what makes Horns Up Rocks keep rising! Thanks to ALL the bands, Alissa Shimansky from Brutal Bitches Productions for always having my back, the awesome staff at The Trash Bar, the fans, and the amazing Kara Pain for being a kickass host! \m/ -Jo Schüftan (Horns Up Rocks)

"There has been a significant growth in the NYC Metal Scene over the past year or so. We are seeing the rise of new promoters, new social networking sites/event sites, new blog sites, new bands and talents, more shows, more attendees, and more of a welcome for our market in local venues from Brooklyn to the Bronx, yes, even the Bronx is burning with Metal. "The March Metal Beatdown" was an immense (inebriation) celebration of all of these aspects coming together, showing the city that we are here, and we are not going nowhere!!! I think it was a significant landmark in time for our scene, and it only foreshadows more great times to come. The more we keep it up, the more we inspire people to come out, the more we inspire them to get back into their roots and slam down with the rest of us like-minded people. Our shows are a place with no bars held. A place for Metal heads of all realms to come out, get drunk, forget their woes, and throw the fuck down to some awesome heavy Tri-State Area Metal Badness. Stay tuned my Metal friends, the shits only just hit the fan." Alissa Shimansky (Brutal Bitches Productions)

"Amazing show last night! The guys from August Infinity and myself had an amazing time! Thank you for having us. Keep up the great work. Much respect!" - Tim Martinez (A.K.A. DJ Tim No 37)

"Saturday’s show reminded me of the sense of community that should always exist amongst bands and fans alike. And though I’m not above playing large venues, the, dare I say it, intimacy of this show was like a chamber music concert to me. A large enough crowd to electrify the room, but small enough that it didn’t feel sterile and processed. There were opportunities for direct interaction from the stage to the pit. In many ways, this is the ideal. Another thing that struck me was the diversity of Metal represented. It’s kind of a thing in the Metal world for people to niche their tastes, and so shows tend towards the monochromatic. Not so on Saturday, and I really enjoyed that. Further, two of the bands were fronted by women who kicked serious ass, which is a welcome trend in Metal these days." - Earl Maneein (Resolution 15)

"Wow! Last night at Trash was absolutely insane! A true night of Metal, amazing bands with a killer crowd. A big thanks to Horns Up Rocks and Brutal Bitches Productions for being the ringmasters of the evening." \m/ Daniel Martinez (Alekhine's Gun)

"Thanks to Horns Up Rocks, Kara Pain, Brutal Bitches Productions, all the other bands, The Trash Bar, all our NYC friends and of course Duff's Brooklyn for a stellar night!" - Wellz (The Hixon)

"The energy of the night is unlike anything I've felt in years. I can't remember the last time I felt that. Almost felt like old school CBGB's or the old ghetto fest shows in the Bronx." -Rene (Photographer)

We want to thank EVERYONE who came to this amazing event and rest assured that we have many more events lined up for 2011! HORNS UP!!!

Hellyeah Duff's takeover!

Last night the band Hellyeah held their Official after party at Duff's Brooklyn, following their performance with Buckcherry and All That Remains at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square. As usual, the vibe was great and the band had a great time with their fans. Among the rowdy fans were media personalities Jose Mangin (Sirius XM Liquid Metal and MTV's Headbangers Ball) and Don Jamieson (That Metal Show).

Here are some images we captured last night:

Kids LOVE Metal!

The most important thing in life is family! Without the love, support, and respect from our families, we are inexistent. Sometimes we tend to take our family for granted, because we are too “busy” with insignificant events. Recently, our founder Jo Schüftan interviewed his daughter Sheila for “Saturday Morning Metal with Kara Pain”, which is a new show on Sirius XM Liquid Metal. The segment aired on Christmas day!

Sheila’s radio career started when she was a tiny little girl. Actually, her first words were broadcasted on WQKE 93.9 (SUNY Plattsburgh radio station) to the inmates of Clinton County Jail. Jo would usually bring Sheila to his weekly program called “The Kings Of Chaos”. This is how Sheila learned about bands like Black Sabbath, which is still her favorite band! Sheila’s first metallic words included: OZZY, SLAYER, and of course METAL!!!

Today we present to you a video produced by Jo, dedicated to his daughter Sheila. The video features the radio segment, along with a showcase of Sheila’s many talents (acting, dancing, snowboarding, swimming, wall climbing, fighting, playing the violin, making sand castles).

We want to thank the Liquid Metal crew for their continuous support and dedication to the Heavy Music scene. After ten years of carrying the torch and helping to spread the word worldwide! It is safe to assume that they are the most important Media Outlet in the world, when it comes to Heavy Music.

Here is the video! Dedicated to Jo's familia and his gorgeous bad-ass daughter Sheila! If you want to go On Air with your kid(s), email Kara Pain at kara@siriusxm.com
