LACUNA COIL's Andrea Ferro: Life On The Road, NEW Album, AC MILAN & Marriage As A Touring Musician!
On April 17th, Italy's LACUNA COIL arrived at the Best Buy Theater in New York City to warm hundreds of ear buds for both SEVENDUST and COAL CHAMBER. Also on the bill were the great folks from STOLEN BABIES. While warming up a crowd is never easy, LC makes it look easy. For all of us who have seen them perform live, we know they take their job very seriously and this is evident from the moment they step on stage. Even though they were forced to perform without their bassist Marco Coti Zelati who has tendonitis, they got the job done!
Prior to his bands performance Andrea Ferro (the male voice of LACUNA COIL and the founder of the band) met with us backstage to chat about all things LC. During the interview, we talked about the band extensive three month tour and how he manages to keep his marriage healthy while on the road. We also talked about the dynamic between him and Cristina Scabbia (the bands female voice), and how this has on effect on the bands signature sound. He also offered us an update regarding the future of the band and of course we talked about Italian soccer! Without further due, here is our in-depth interview with Andrea Ferro.

OVERKILL's Bobby "Blitz" Discusses Music Evolution At "The Dark Roots Of Thrash" Tour!
If there is a man that defines the term "Metal Warrior" in our music, that man is Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth. Why?
Well, even though he was suffering from walking pneumonia, "Blitz" tried his very best to keep the show going with his band OVERKILL and performed a few full concerts while taking oxygen in between songs.
Unfortunately, the body sometimes can't do what our mind wants it to do. As a result, OVERKILL were forced to pull the plug and pull out from "The Dark Roots Of Thrash Tour" (full statement HERE). The tour features TESTAMENT, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, and 4ARM.
Even though "Blitz" was not feeling well, he still warriored through our interview and as you can see was in very high spirits. During the chat, which took place backstage at the Best Buy Theater in New York City on February 14, he shared with us his musical wisdom and the vision behind the OVERKILL machine. He also discussed music evolution, and what it takes to remain relevant in the ever changing music world. Without further due, buckle up and step inside the "wrecking crew"!
Here is our show review! And here is our photo gallery!
TESTAMENT,OVERKILL, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, 4ARM (remaining tour dates):

Fans Ask Questions To Members Of DOWN & They Answer Most Of Them!
For the first time ever, Ultimate Guitar presented some of the members of DOWN with an interview made up entirely of reader's questions. Over 300 questions were submitted over the course of several days and they had the arduous task of picking "the best" questions and then getting Philip Anselmo, Pepper Keenan and Kirk Windstein to answer them.
Here are a few of the questions, followed some very honest answers:
UG: How did you feel about playing the Pantera songs live on the Metal Masters tour? What is your favorite Pantera song to play? (Maiden95)
Anselmo: I feel great to play 'em live. It's fun; it's great. My favorite? I guess my all-time favorite would be "A New Level".
You've been involved in bands with hardcore/punk influences. What are some of your favorite hardcore/punk albums? (HandsofStone)
Anselmo: 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath'.
Pepper Kennan: Hardcore or punk? It would be narrowed down to three records probably: "My War" by Black Flag; "Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing" by Discharge; and Cro-Mags "The Age Of Quarrel". And the Ramones "Road To Ruin".
Kirk, same question.
Anselmo: He don't know punk.
Kirk Windstein: I really don't know punk that well.
Anselmo: I know some sh-t.
Windstein: I'd say "The Age Of Quarrel" and Agnostic Front...
Anselmo: "Victim In Pain."
Windstein: Yeah, "Victim In Pain".
Keenan: It depends which ones made you shift a lot when you were younger. When I heard "Road To Ruin" when I was 13, 14 years old, it changed my life.
Anselmo: Tell me f---in' certain Celtic Frost tunes ain't hardcore?
Keenan: Well sure.
Anselmo: Exactly.
"I have certain values and I guess attitude and with that comes a music that you keep close to your heart."
What album are you most proud of? (red_hot_chili18)
Anselmo: To me the ones I'm proud of it would take too long for me to answer. That's an impossible question.
Back in the day White Zombie benefited from Beavis & Butthead giving them their "seal of approval". Did Crowbar notice any similar boost in sales after their video was shown on that show? (zalant)
Windstein: Umm, it was the biggest selling record that we had. I mean we intentionally sent a package in with a video, t-shirt and a note and everything for Mike Judge. We're like, "Dude, have at it. Make fun of us. We know we're fat and we know we're ugly and we're heavy so have at it. Make fun of us all you want." So it certainly didn't hurt things I should say.
What was the cause for such a dramatic change in your vocal style on the later Pantera albums? (K!!LsWiTcH)
Anselmo: Ohh, I guess I was finding myself more and more and more. I have certain values and I guess attitude and with that comes a music that you keep close to your heart as genres. Emulating and being an extension of those genres, I was a young man so I would say impressionable. It helped me define myself. You take a good listen around today and I don't think it's the earlier Phil Anselmo kids are apin' but it's the more later Pantera kids have been most influenced by.

MINISTRY Brings The Noise To New York City - Images & Set List Of The DEFIBRILLATOUR Available!
Thirty years and 12 albums later, as well as a near-death experience in 2010, Jourgensen rises as a phoenix from the ashes with 'Relapse' -- still angry, still political and very very pissed off. Relapsing back into the music industry after a four-year hiatus, Jourgensen launches his audio assault with "Ghouldiggers," a no-holds-barred Metal bullet aimed directly at the pitfalls of the industry he has survived. Everything Jourgensen predicted on Houses of the Molé, Rio Grande Blood and The Last Sucker has transpired and as we approach the Mayan calendar of the End of Days in 2012, Jourgensen, re-invigorated by the global "99 Percenters" and Occupy Wall Street movement, navigates through Relapse once again as a reluctant prophet accusing, dissecting, cajoling and exhorting greed, corruption and lies.
This past Saturday (June 23rd), the band arrived to New York City's Best buy Theater to bring the noise via "The DEFIBRILLATOUR"! Compiling a 19 song set list that included many of the bands classics, as well as plenty of NEW songs and even a cover by the STORMTROOPERS OF DEATH, the Industrial Metallers proved why they are one of the finest bands in the history of the genre (which they pioneered). The set list was as follows:
1) Ghouldiggers
2) No W
3) Rio Grande Blood
4) Señor Peligro
5) LiesLiesLies
6) 99 Percenters
7) Watch Yourself
8) Life Is Good
9) Waiting
10) Worthless
11) Relapse
12) The Last Sucker
13) Khyber Pass
Encore:
14) Psalm 69
15) N.W.O.
16) Just One Fix
17) Thieves
18) So What
Encore 2:
19) United Forces (Stormtroopers Of Death Cover)
