KILL DEVIL HILL Forced To Postpone European Tour - Statement Available!

KILL DEVIL HILL the NEW project featuring acclaimed drummer Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, Dio) and bassist Rex Brown, (Pantera, Down) guitar slinger Mark Zavon and lead vocalist Dewey Bragg have been forced to postpone their upcoming European Tour. Here is the bands statement regarding this matter:

"Hey Guys, due to some circumstances beyond our control, we unfortunately are going to have to postpone our upcoming European shows. We truly apologize to all the fans who were hoping to come out and see us. You're all very important to us and we hate having to disappoint you. We plan on getting back to Europe as soon as possible and we hope to see you then!"

The bands debut album is now available via SPV/Steamhammer. The album is available in a standard CD edition, iTunes digital download, and Double Gatefold LP.

It's not easy to say what catches the listener's attention first on KILL DEVIL HILL, the debut album by the newly formed band of the same name: the strong guitar hooks, the killer grooves, the dynamic production or the potent vocal melodies. Rex Brown, bassist of this supergroup and erstwhile member of Pantera and Down sees KILL DEVIL HILL in its entirety as an extremely exciting NEW band "To me, this band is a musical adventure trip," he reckons. Brown knows what he's talking about, after all he was involved in some of the most important Rock ad Metal recordings of the past 30 years. So if Brown can hardly contain his enthusiasm, there must be something special to the KILL DEVIL HILL phenomenon.

PANTERA's Rex Brown Owes The IRS A TON Of Dough Due To Back Taxes!

According to USA Today, former PANTERA and DOWN bassist Rex Brown owes nearly a half million dollars to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Brown owes $449,567 to the federal government in back taxes and penalties, according to five tax liens filed by the Internal Revenue Service. The most recent and largest lien, for $210,157, was filed in his home state of Texas in January. Other liens were addressed to a Los Angeles accounting firm that handles entertainers. A sixth lien for $72,695 was released by the IRS in 2008, a sign those back taxes were paid.

The federal government can seize Brown's share of PANTERA's revenue, including royalties from his shared record and songwriting credits, if a payment plan is not worked out. PANTERA still makes money. It is credited with creating groove metal, a subgenre of heavy metal, and still gets airplay. Rhino Records will release a deluxe version of the band's most influential record, 'Vulgar Display of Power', on iTunes May 15.

Brown's NEW band, Kill Devil Hill, hits the road later this month and releases its first record in May 22nd via SPV/Steamhammer..

KILL DEVIL HILL & ADRENALINE MOB To Join Forces On A Short US Tour!

Kill Devil Hill and Adrenaline Mob are heading out on the road together for what will be a memorable night of Hard Rock music. The run, which will be comprised of current and former members of Black Sabbath, Pantera, Dream Theater, Symphony X and Disturbed, kicks off on May 10th in Cleveland. The tour will make stops in Dallas, Chicago and Orlando before wrapping up in Charlotte, NC on May 22. The shows will feature Kill Devil Hill followed by Adrenaline Mob and then end in all out jam between the two groups. Special VIP Packages, including exclusive items and meet and greets will be available for each band.

Please check with the band's respective websites for details. Adrenaline Mob is the powerhouse vocals of Russell Allen (Symphony X), the shredding guitar attack of Mike Orlando (Sonic Stomp), the rhythmic bass playing of John Moyer (Disturbed) and the drumming virtuosity of Mike Portnoy (Ex Dream Theater/Avenged Sevenfold). Kill Devil Hill is comprised of famed bassist Rex Brown, (Pantera, Down) drum monster Vinny Appice (former drummer with Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven And Hell), guitar virtuoso Mark Zavon and vocalist Dewey Bragg.

Kill Devil Hill are gearing up to release their self-titled debut album on May 22nd via SPV/Steamhammer. In 2009 Vinny had found the perfect guitarist in Zavon, who was also looking to start a NEW band. Zavon played a demo he had recorded with vocalist Dewey Bragg, and Vinny was floored. With the three members in place Vinny asked his long time friend Rex Brown to play bass on a demo track called "War Machine". Rex immediately agreed and the final puzzle piece was in place for the formation of Kill Devil Hill.

Adrenaline Mob will be touring in support of their Elm City Records debut 'Omertá'. The record debuted Top 5 on the Billboard Rock Album chart when it was released on March 13. The band reached #5 on the chart and also was #62 on the Billboard Top 200 selling over 6600 copies its first week. The album has been getting amazing reviews with Revolver declaring "If you dig hard-hitting modern Metal, then Adrenaline Mob's 11-track debut offers some monstrous moments." Adrenaline Mob formed in 2011 when Sonic Stomp founder Orlando, who had been working on a collection of songs, approached Symphony X vocalist Allen with a concept and idea for the band. Together they joined forces and refined those ideas. Allen then reached out to long-time friend and ex Dream Theater/Avenged Sevenfold drummer Portnoy to see if he had any interest in playing with them. Portnoy jumped on-board and from the very first note, the chemistry and sound was apparent. In late 2011, Portnoy recruited Disturbed's Moyer to fill the vacant bass slot and the beast that is known as Adrenaline Mob was born.

KILL DEVIL HILL/ADRENALINE MOB TOUR DATES:

- May 10: Cleveland, OH at House Of Blues

Rex Brown Discusses NEW Band KILL DEVIL HILL, Lays The Truth About DOWN & Says There Will Never Be A PANTERA Reunion!

Rex Brown is not only one of the best bassists in Heavy Music history, but also a man that never bites his tongue. We recently had the chance to chat with Rex about his NEW band KILL DEVIL HILL, who will be releasing their debut album on March 27th via SPV/Steamhammer. The bands self-titled album offers the listener a soundtrack full of power, soul and plenty of groove. On this NEW project, Rex is joined by legendary drummer Vinny Appice, guitarist Mark Zavon, and vocalist Dewey Bragg.

During our exclusive interview with Rex, we also discussed the legacy of PANTERA, the band that saved Heavy Music in the early 90's thanks to their vulgar display of crushing Metal. Their phenomenal 10 studio albums, were only topped by their amazing stage show. When PANTERA came to town, nobody was safe and their explosive live show left many Panteraheads scarred for life! They say that glory always has a very high prize to pay, in the case of the Kings Of Metal this is an understatement.

We also talked to Rex about his current health condition and why he decided to leave DOWN. Without further dude, here is our exclusive interview with Rex Brown!

Rex Brown Discusses his Decision to Quit Down!

Rex Brown is one of the most charismatic, talented and versatile musicians within the Heavy Music scene. You may know him from his stellar career with Heavy Metal Kings Pantera, or from his successful run with super-group Down. Well, Rex made the decision to leave Down earlier this year (Crowbar's bassist Patrick Bruders took Rex's place in Down) and decided to join a new musical venture alongside Vinnie Appice (Heaven & Hell, Black Sabbath & DIO), Mark Zavon (RATT, W.A.S.P. & 40 Cycle Hum), and Jason "Dewey" Bragg (Pissing Razors), called King Devil Hill.

This is what Rex had to say about his decision to leave Down.

"I was playing with Down a whole bit and I just kind of got tired of the… You know, Philip Anselmo (Pantera/Down & Superjoint Ritual) and I had been together 23 years. And when I first met these guys (Kill Devil Hill) in January of this year, when I walked in and we played in the rehearsal room, it just clicked. The chemistry and everything that went along with it… I mean, it's so easy to say that, but really… I just said, 'To hell with it. This is what I wanna do.' I didn't make an announcement at all [that I was leaving DOWN]; I just quit."

Kill Devil Hill recently signed a record deal with SPV/Steamhammer. The band has been busty working on their debut album, scheduled for a March 2012 release. The as-yet-untitled effort is being produced by Warren Riker (Down, Corrosion Of Conformity, Sublime and Cathedreal.
