Having spent several years lauded as one of the frontrunners in their genre, in 2012 WHITECHAPEL stand as a defining force in contemporary Heavy Music. Building dramatically on the trademarked bludgeon of their first three releases, with Whitechapel the Tennessean sextet have inarguably delivered their most intense, dynamic, and downright hostile record to date. Drenched in atmospheric darkness, the record is also rife with gripping melodies that drag the listener in to the tumult, willing or otherwise, and across its ten tracks it is infused with an emotional depth that pointedly separates the band from the plethora of two-dimensional mosh-starters that have sprung up in their wake.
The album was engineered and mixed by Mark Lewis (Black Dahlia Murder, DevilDriver), who also handled production duties alongside the band. The album artwork was created by Aaron Marsh of Forefathers Group with art direction provided by WHITECHAPEL.

DYING FETUS Unleash NEW Song "From Womb To Waste" - Listen If You Dare!
With a little under a month left before the release of their highly anticipated NEW album 'Reign Supreme', DYING FETUS have unleashed another track from the album, to give fans just a little taste of what they can expect from 'Reign Supreme'. AltPress.com the online home of Alternative Press Magazine is hosting an exclusive premiere of the song "From Womb to Waste" HERE.
DYING FETUS documented the recording process of Reign Supreme in a series of video blogs. All the videos can be seen below.
DYING FETUS are offering a free download of the track "Subjected to a Beating" on their Bandcamp Page HERE.
'Reign Supreme' features nine tracks and is a "return to roots" with production focused slightly more on slam than in the band's last few works. Thematically, the album is set to be a good old-fashioned piece of social and political commentary in the style of DYING FETUS as we have come to know.
DYING FETUS will be on tour all summer long including an appearance at Maryland Death Fest as well as the "18 Nights of Blood Tour" in North America with label mates REVOCATION and Six Feet Under. They will also be on a headlining tour of Europe which includes appearances at the "Copenhell Festival" in Copenhagen, Denmark, "Hell Fest" in Clisson, France, the "With Full Force" festival in Roitzschjora, Germany, "Sevilla Rock Festival" in Sevilla, Spain and the "Getaway Rock Fest" in Gävle, Sweden.

The first video provides an in depth look at the drum tracking process for the album and can be viewed below.

JOB FOR A COWBOY Are Coming For JAPAN - Details Available!
Death Metal collective JOB FOR A COWBOY today announce four special headlining dates in Japan! Following their trek on the Metal Alliance tour, which is currently underway, the band will play two shows in Tokyo as well as Nagoya and Okinawa beginning on May 18. Confirmed dates are below:
- 5/18/2012 Shibuya Cyclone - Tokyo, Japan w/ Unite
- 5/19/2012 Sakae R.A.D - Nagoya, Japan w/ Infernal Revulsion, Death I Am, Hostile Eyes, Neuerwind
- 5/20/2012 Shibuya Milkyway - Tokyo, Japan w/ Arise In Stability, Metal Safari, Infernal Revulsion, Death I Am
- 5/21/2012 Chatan Salt & Papper - Okinawa, Japan w/ Illuminati, Shores, Roach, Shakes Beard
JOB FOR A COWBOY will be touring in support of their brand NEW studio recording, 'Demonocracy', released in North America last week through Metal Blade Records. The intricate, Jason Suecof-produced offering tackles various political and economic themes and continues to crush the masses nationally. In a recent review Ultimate-Guitar noted of the record: "The album plays like a constant assault, and while never backing off it still manages to add enough structure for individual songs to become memorable," adding that, "the soloing is surprisingly catchy and well-executed while still managing to sit well in the context of the songs." Alternative Press calls Demonocracy "an ass-kicking, skull-cracking record," while Stereokiller agrees: "…a solid slab of some really heavy technical Death Metal. JOB FOR A COWBOY has separated themselves from former peers such as All Shall Perish and Whitechapel, and has now firmly fitted themselves with the likes of Suffocation and Dying Fetus."
In related news, the fourth in the "The Leads Are Weak" instructional video series by guitar wizard Tony Sannicandro is currently posted for your viewing pleasure. Subtitled "Getting Sexual," Sannicandro elaborates: "One of the most important things to me in soloing is good phrasing. The first half of the 'Misery Reformatory' solo is a pretty cool example of good phrasing that fits the song. It would have been easy to go to the classic E-minor and start burning like the clap, but I figured it would be better to break it down a little simpler and make it sexy. This is easy to play but it's a good lesson in outlining the solo like the curves of a beautiful broad." See for yourself!
Metalliance Tour, featuring Dying Fetus, DevilDriver, The Faceless, Job For A Cowboy, 3 Inches Of Blood, Impending Doom, and Wretched (Remaining tour dates).
- 4/19: Dallas, TX @ House Of Blues
- 4/20: Austin, TX @ Emo's East
- 4/21: Houston, TX @ House Of
Stay tuned for more JOB FOR A COWBOY news including the upcoming video premiere of “Imperium Wolves.”
